Boy, I sure didn't know when I was making this the news that was getting ready to hit us! I haven't had a chance to read the entire manga yet, but I sure spent a lot of time with the anime when I was young. And I feel like I should say thank you and rest in peace, Akira Toriyama.
RIP Toriyama. Entering the 40th anniversary of DB we have lost one of the absolute greats of the industry. DB has brought so many people across the globe together. Not through hating enemies but through striving to be the best we can and continuing to strive to better ourselves while trying to better those around us. Once again RIP Toriyama you absolute LEGEND!
I hope no one gets confused or the wrong idea because I'm sure this video was made well and truly before the news about toriyama, look forward to watching this one brother regardless
Rest in Peace to the man who was involved in the life of countless people, a man who inspired countless people to pursue a career in the manga industry, a man who helped popularize anime and manga in the west Thank You Akira Toriyama
Based on the sections of Dragonball you liked, you would probably enjoy Kengan Ashura a lot. It's basically one big fighting tournament and regarding fights and the tournament as a format, no other manga is that good
The video title goes on to show people fall for hype and events and do not act of their own volition until prompted to in this day and age... I was 5 when i discovered DBZ on a small CRT TV, by accident my cousins (girls) had received Broly Movie 1 as a christmas gift (they had asked for Goofy movie from aunt) so they sent it to me cuz I was a boya and the logical oddball who would enjoy it (I sure did!)) as a VHS tape in 1996. Been a fan ever since, Goku transforming into Super Saiyan made me feel I could accomplish anything even though i was a stupid kid. And since Dragon Ball wasn't there to be watched in my ex-communist country at that time, I watched that VHS over 50 times as a motivation hub, before going to school and fighting of bullies who wanted to steal my lunch. To people who discovered Dragon Ball in a similar fashion: Dragon Ball was like their childhood everything, a holy grail, something you would choose over a worship book. To many true Dragon Ball fans the death of Toriyama was like a death of Jesus event, part of our hearts are broken forever. But the spirit of Goku that Toriyama sensei created will make us strive through all tough times. That is how big Dragon Ball is to some fans. ❤
You have genuinely not seen this before bro no spoilers from me it's awesome dude you would actually be happy you spent time watching this if you seen anything on netflix just something awesome.
Early Dragon Ball is really really great. At least the cartoon is. I enjoy watching little Goku running around punching folks and being a menace.. especially to hot babes. That first training arc where Krillin and Goku do the turtle hermit regiment is perfection.
It's almost like if humans lived together with dinosaurs it would show you how it would happen if we were like immortal an could just keep evolving anyway how did dinosaurs live to be so many years old a Turtle probably would be like a dinosaur who's to say they can't evolve into the characters you see it draws up a time window literally.
Not written for your age group? You're forty years old. You were literally 4 years old when Toriyama first started it. For me it was always just annoying how in America they keep splitting it into two different series in the manga when it's not like that. To read all of Dragon Ball is to read, what people call, Z after, what people call, Dragon Ball. For me Red Ribbon is arguably the best part of the entire franchise. You NEVER get that kind of a look at the world of Dragon Ball outside of it and it has such wonderful characters like Blue and Tao Pai Pai and No. 8 and all that. And the Pirate Robot just looked cool as hell. Just adds so much life to it and Toriyama never reached that level of scenery again for the series with the settings he drew there. Not to mention the Dr. Slump crossover. "We have established that life and death are not exactly precious in this..." I would...not say that in the slightest. You had Bora, but up until Piccolo Daimao none of the main characters had ever died and all of a sudden you get the haunting scene of Goku finding Krillin's body. As a child I could not believe that anyone actually got killed, and once they did even more started to fall with Piccolo Daimao afterwards killing the thing that could bring them back. When it comes to the fights of the franchise, I don't know if anything ever tops the rematch against Piccolo Daimao. Him launching himself through Piccolo Daimao at the end is the best finale to any Saga of the franchise for me. The 3rd Tournament afterwards is kind of just dull to me compared to that (and the worst tournament of the original 3 to me. The least diversity with it mostly just being characters we already know and it being just straight fighting mostly without as much "fun" to the fight). It's fine and not as dull to me as stuff that comes afterwards, but doesn't compare to the previous tournaments to me (go more into my thoughts in a DB review on my own channel from last year, but this long comment sort of encapsulates my general views on this portion of the story).
Dragon Ball was published in Shonen Jump, which is a magazince aimed at young boys,Kid's media in Japan is more risky compared to western children's media.
dragon ball specifically its first few arcs and jokes have really dated it in my opinion. for me its kinda hard to go back to the first 2 arcs even though i love them because "sexual assault lol"
But yet you made sure to say you “knew” you were too old for this manga several times, it was originally an adult gag manga, please do your research from now on dude

Dragon ball is the best series out of the four stories!
RIP Akira Toriyama ❤️ Also love your videos
Nice review.
Good explanation of your rating.

OG Dragonball is the best DB
I just want to make a comment before this blows up
Rip!
You were the targeted audience, 40 years ago.
“You go and train for the next tournament!
Of course!
But this time we’re going to train, WITH GOD!”
I’m dying. 😂

On the day akira toriyama passed away
unfortunately timing
He passed on the 1st of March, but we found out today. RIP
One Piece videos are inevitable. If you like dragon ball one piece is going to blow you away
Dragon Ball and Z are aimed at adults, god I wish you people would do research before making videos like this
Dragon Ball was published in Shonen Jump, which is a magazince aimed at young boys,Kid's media in Japan is more risky compared to western children's media.
Jeez so negative. They are aimed at young adult men. Yknow, SHONEN. Dbz is literally in Shonen jump. Shonen means teen-young adult boy
dragon ball specifically its first few arcs and jokes have really dated it in my opinion. for me its kinda hard to go back to the first 2 arcs even though i love them because
"sexual assault lol"
Yeah, I was planning on bringing it up in the video, but I forgot to when I was filming it. It definitely has some very inappropriate comedy
I really don’t think it’s that perverted for a Japanese cartoon and still has a flair of influence
But yet you made sure to say you “knew” you were too old for this manga several times, it was originally an adult gag manga, please do your research from now on dude
