@@KeepinItRioPodcast it should only take you about 10 minutes. It's not a big deal. See my other videos of other things I have had to do to my durango.
Overall, my 2017 Durango has been a good car. Not great. Has had some unscheduled repairs that were rather costly. See my other videos about that. But I like the vehicle a lot. It's one of my favorite cars ever. And I have owned several different brands over the years.
Thank you for taking the time to address this ridiculous dodge design for a battery location.Quite often I take for granted the work the some technicians record on this app, from the❤👍keep up the good work.
@cesareomiranda4485 it's actually not as bad as it being behind the driver side front tire like my Avenger and Journey were. You had to take the tire off to get to the compartment.
#HorsepowerHouse - My Main Man! My Hero! My Savior! So I have a 2020 and I came into ownership. Of a 2018 which sat in my yard for months. To say I struggle with this would be putting it mildly. THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Well Done.
Thanks for the great video! I have a 21 RT but purchased it used in December .tbh I know I did this to my self because I leave my Apple Watch charger and my phone charger plugged in 🤦🏻♂️. But thank you so much for the great DIY! Update and tip: plug in the vent hose before dropping it into the slot or you might break the little plastic piece like I did 🥴🙃
@@christopherwilliams4621 I just had spark plugs done on my Durango rt. I did not know that there are two spark plugs per cylinder on the V8 model. Quite pricey, and I have a mobile mechanic, thank goodness. So I did not have to do it. But it did not look like fun to me.
Everything boots up again after being disconnected? I was going to attach a batt charger to the cable ends so that it never loses power or the memory. Is it not necessary to do so?
I changed my aux battery in my 2020 durango but its still saying service start/stop system... does it take a little driving around first hefore it goes away?
Great video, but dude really? A battery change is a 5 minute job. This is an atrocious design, and only benefits dealers and shops because it becomes a 2 hour book job. Sincerely a machinist/millwright who has only worked in manufacturing.
They also do it to centralize the weight. And make the engine compartment less crowded. Only takes maybe 7 minutes to change battery. Not that big a deal.
Where to buy the battery on Amazon for newer Dodge Durango R/T RT and possibly other new Durango models amzn.to/3FayHgf
Be real careful with that amazon link. Amazon says that batt fits my 2016 durango citadel but its almost 2 inches longer and didnt fit!
Awesome. Super happy to own a Dodge Durango today, as I sit in a parking lot with a dead battery. Can’t wait to take the entire car apart for this.

Wait till you get the fabulous ticking or not catch it and now you need lifters and a new cam 🤦🏽
@GATOGTX don't use Eco mode. Disable it. No issue.
@ never did and already 5k at stealership still not working with 79k miles on it

I never knew leaving the charger plugged in kills the battery?
@@moniqueh7 I figured it might since your vehicle isn’t on but it’s pulling juice
I seriously doubt a small mobile device will drain your car's battery.

Worked like a charm. Thank you
Even a true car guy for modification or trend it would be put there.i thought it was going to be in the trunk like volos xc60/90
Thank you brother you made my life easier and save me some money
Then the Thanks Button awaits you
Definitely an improvement over the time dodge put the battery inside the left front wheel well!
Going to do this today. Started having issues.

No, you do not HAVE TO lift up the seat, but to do a "good" video displaying everything, you do.
And does unbolting the seat cause a passenger airbag fault due to needed a recalibration?
no
If it ever needs to be boosted is there a way to boost it under the hood?
Yes. Your owners manual shows you.
Thank you!!

@HorsepowerHouse I was majorly bummed... those dash lights drive me nuts. Check engine, tire pressure, start/stop etc... I hate them!
@ryanmorley8211 all newer cars have them
@HorsepowerHouse yeah it's unfortunate, the S/S system is kinda redundant, does it really benefit the car or the driver?
what a stupid place for battery....🤪
Yep. Probably some engineer decided that for "central" weight and a less crowded engine bay. :/
Much better than in the fender well, like my OTHER Mopar.
Much more stupid you have to "save" shit before you can change the auxiliary. So basically u have to have the dealer do it. It's bullshit
@dustpanman what do you mean? We should be taking it to dealership for this?
And I thought German vehicles only made weird places for your battery lol
