I looked this up because they used in in a slow motion vignette on Superman, where his twisted, inverse Bizzarro self, in slow motion, attacked a government installation, beat up Lana Lang & then put on a space suit and used a kryptonite inhaler before crossing dimensions to earth prime.
The song does not sound like the record neither does the guy singing, so the recorded version must be using some effect on his voice because here it just does not have the same sound.
you're right, the song was played faster in the correct key but then slowed down. if you ever tried to play along with a guitar, you'll notice the album version is way out of tune.
geners voice has deteriorated over the years as a result of his drug and alcohol problem. there wasnt an effect on his voice in the studio version, he was just jacked at singing

@@nix3l_ I had read that they performed the song in normal speed and in the final mixes they slowed the song down which made his voice a bit deeper.
