Jill, thank you so much! There's nothing we love more than knowing our videos and projects are *really* helping people achieve their design goals and stay within budget. If you have some photos of your headboard, I would love to see them! E-mail me at Barbara@YesSpaces.com.
HI Jill, I have looked online buying a full or double bed headboard and they range from $210 - $499... I would like some help on how you and your husband made your king size headboard.. I would love to see a picture as well.. I don't know where to start for example the materials.. Thank you..!!
jesse sangha Hi, I purchased the fabric, custom sized foam and spray adhesive at a local fabric warehouse so the materials weren't very expensive. We got a large piece of plywood at Home Depot cut to size. Followed Barbara's instructions and it was very easy. All you need is a good staple gun and a couple sets of hands! I'd love to attach a photo but this site doesn't allow for that. I just read other comments on this site and they talk about purchasing a headboard at Ikea. You definitely don't get the custom feel if you do that! Just purchasing your own fabric makes a huge difference. We attached ours to the wall and it's the perfect size and addition to our master bedroom. If you don't have a fabric outlet, any fabric store would work. Good luck!
thank you Jill. i appreciate for your time to write this out . I am excite.. I found a door in my alley that someone threw away. I want to use this door to make my headboard!!
I thought the instructions were easy to follow and I might even attempt to make that headboard for my guest room. She made it look so easy. That's what a good teacher does.
I loved your video - I'm having a hard time finding the day bed project - what I'm actually working on. That being said your video is very helpful, thank you. I hope I can find your other one.
Hello. This is pretty awesome and I'm about to do my own but I REALLY need to know: is the batting really necessary? Can I just skip it and use only foam and fabric?
When you cut the plywood should you account for the thickness of the quilting? For example, if I want an 80 inch wide headboard for a king bed should I use a 79 inch piece of plywood?
Hi, loving this tutorial. Very informative!! Could you help me please? I'm struggling to watch the daybed tutorial. Is there another link that I should click on? I tried to find it on your blog too but I couldn't see it. Thanks
The daybed video is a stop action that just quickly shows you the process from beginning to end, it does not have a lot of information. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/t__1BeJSKyA/v-deo.html
Which staple gun do you use? As a beginner, not willing to spend on the expensive pneumatic ones. Local hardware store stocks Arrow T50 or T55. Any recommendations?
Love the tutorial! Any recommendation for about how much fabric and felt I would need for a queen sized headboard? /Users/Towe/Desktop/Screen Shot 2014-05-27 at 8.23.50 PM.png
this seems expensive.. I was wanting to make a cute pink headboard for my daughter for a toddler bed because there only seems to be twin sized ones online and in stores. i was hoping i could make one for around 25 bucks but now i am thinking i might as well just buy a twin bed with the headboard it might be a better buy. Walmart has a whole twin bed thats all pink with the headboard so i will most likely just buy this. You are definitely talented though thats for sure i will still check the fabric stores and see what would be better to do money wise.
MAJOR CHALLENGE: The staple gun will not penetrate plywood. Have tried all of the simple solutions. Now what? [Do not want to buy an upholstery stable gun for one project!]
I went to ikea and they don't have that many selections... ALso home depot has a great line of head boards by the name brand skyline but pricey.. THe cheapest i found was $210..
P Auluknow If you want an ugly, mass produced product, then buy IKEA, personally I hate their stuff, and it is way over priced because it really IS crap.
This was great! My husband and I just made our own king size headboard and it was sooooo easy thanks to this video. We made it for under $150. :)

What is the best fabric to use?
could I use push pins instead of staples?
Did you cut the foam to the size of the board or larger ?
Yes it does ! Thank You,
Wow! Where did you get the 50% of coupons?

glue gun
had a hard time seeing bc the colour of the material. A lighter material would have been better. Thank you
So much talking...what if some people don't understand English......some people looking only how to do it demo ...

Your tutoring is very pre school .
Or go to ikea and buy a stylish headboard for 74 bucks .done
I love IKEA and shop there quite a bit! If you want a one of a kind item though you can't beat making it yourself
