- We’ve arrived in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, in the north eastern part of Europe.
We’re here for at least a month, with no return tickets booked and we’ve settled into a nice apartment in Uzupis- Andrea of Vilnius just 15 minutes walk from the old town.

I went over to Lithuania in 95 and stayed for 12 years.
That year was probably the coldest for years but the summers were glorious. So now, I've been married to a Lithuanian for 24 years. Both our daughters were born in Lithuania and yes, we all speak Lithuanian at home, albeit, Biržečiu.
Great country.
Then , where are you originally from?
@@TitanSpeakerman118 most definitely he/she/it is from Earth =))
@@TitanSpeakerman118 Scotland. The name gives it away..
@@BrokenBackMountains Nope, have that name here in the USA
@@matthewdeepblue Sigh. Where do you think it originates?
Freddie's enthusiasm is so infectious. When Monica said that she would rather walk instead of going on the scooter, the look of disbelief on Freddie's face was so funny 🙂
As a Lithuanian I am really happy to see this video and share it with my English friends!
I'm a sucker for beautiful old Eastern European architecture. Strong, classic buildings. Surprising colorful. This video is awesome, keep them coming!
Thank you John, delighted you liked the video!🙂
Riga, Latvia's Capitol, which is next door to Lithuania has some wonderful old buildings which can be seen by clicking on the following Link :- ua-cam.com/video/4bO1H28l6jc/v-deo.html
Wdym Eastern European? The Soviet architecture?
Many wooden buildings got demolished, are being demolished and will be demolished. Only a few will likely remain
Nordic country! Lithuania is a NORDIC country, like Norway, Sweden, Finland. That's why their winters gets -20 -30C degrees below 0...
So happy for you both! Looks like you're already having a great time 😊 so excited for the Classic 350 videos!
Thank you Brandon, we’re really enjoying it🙂 The Classic’s now collected and I’ve been busy enjoying it!
Freddie, I know it's your channel and you bring so much enthusiasm to the vids but we need to see more of Monika presenting the sights and describing life growing up in Lithuania. Also, let's hear Monika speaking Lithuanian.
Visit the so called “green lake” just about 20 min outside the center, also a small town called “Trakai”, around 20 miles from Vilnius. Also beach cities like Klaipėda, Palanga, Nida. Enjoy and glad to see you in Lithuania!
LOL..you guys just cant get away from the rain can you..LOL..I just love you two...your so funny...LOL..so very cool to see where Monica is from...so glad she was able to see her family....and again...living vicariously through you my friend...excellent video...Thank you!!
Delighted you enjoyed it, thanks Kevin!🙂
Thank you for showing us a wonderful country of Lithuania
i miss my home country so much especialy the summers
What a beautiful place, some stunning architecture, shame you left the good weather behind, but we'll look after it for you and get plenty of riding done. Great video, I hope it brightens up for you.
Love the Lithuanian vibe. It seems to be even more conservative than England. Less vandalism, cleaner and the people better dressed. That was so funny at the end; typical English sense of humour.
Bruh
It is more concervative, would say concervative/liberal at 50/50, the younger generation is a lot more liberal, older generation is more concervative. It is cleaner and by far more safer (public safety) compared to majority of western EU cities.
@@S3l3ct1ve You need to let it stay that way. Don't vote for Globalist politicians who will destroy your fine country while promising you the Earth. You need Civic Nationalists who take a pride in your history and culture and seek to preserve them. In the UK it was done through the MSM - particularly the BBC - pumping Liberalism at us from the early 60s onwards - also the education system - now some parts of London are hi-crime no-go areas.
Lithuania is still not contaminated by Western European stupidity aka wokism
You both have a great spirit for adventure. Thank you for the first insight into another interesting country. Oh and by the way it’s gonna be 34 degrees in south-east England on Monday.
Thanks Richard🙂
I will try and make myself feel better and tell myself that the UK is now unpleasantly warm.
Enjoy the glorious weather!☀️🇬🇧
Only 34?? Haha, try coming to Paris. Monday will be 38 and Tuesday a mere 41!!! But that’s ok as I’m an Aussie - and tough! lol
Hit 40 yesterday on our way to Gatwick to fly back to cool Stockholm (only 26!)
Nothing to say but "Awesome" you pair are the most entertaining couple on my watch list for sure! The way you bounce off each other is so natural ✨️ looking forward already to the next instalment in the F & M travel series 😎😎
Ah ! That’s what rain looks like!! I’d forgotten! That is a beautiful apartment. I immediately want to move there.
Thanks for the video! I'm about to visit the capital of my home country after so many years of living abroad, and this video adds to my enthusiasm. Love Vilnius!
I’ve just recently discovered your channel and I’m loving it. Just working my way through all the videos. Thanks you for the quality content, and please keep up the great work.
Honestly one of the best 'reviews' of Vilnius! This was amazing to watch, hope you enjoy your stay :)
Fun and funny! Strawberry was hilarious!! What an amazing looking city, within a fascinating country. Can't wait for more....with motorcycles and cars and Monica laughing!!
Lazy Cake from Lithuania is the same as Delphia Cake in Norway. Love it
Love following your adventure’s. You’re both amazing people and I wish you nothing but great things 👍😎
Really enjoyed this video, hope to see some more content in Lithuania! Would love to see you riding in Lithuania.
Happy to see you in Vilnius! Enjoy the time!
I can confirm it is currently a glorious sunny evening here in Ipswich. Vilnius looks an interesting city to explore and I’m looking forward to upcoming videos of your adventures, particularly on the RE.
Great seeing Vilnius! Looking forward to your next adventure ✅
A truly wonderful video! Have a lovely time folks! It looks absolutely stunning there!
Thanks! It is lovely🙂🇱🇹
Well, I thrive in rainy weather and it seems not to rain that often, at least in my parts of Lithuania...
This apartment looks soooo cozy in such weather. Very spiritual.
Great video love those old buildings so happy they kept them!👍🏻
It looks like you guys are having a blast. I would love to slowly tour the surrounding countries by motorcycle and enjoy the wonderful people.
Love the video I’m in Lithuania at the moment from uk with my wife who’s from here we’ve travel all over and in your area next week I’m loving it so far
Yeah, great fun guys and congrats on growing your channel !
Always a good day when you upload! 👍🏻
Thank you Jay🙂🙌🏻
I 👍
Hi , at last our weather is better , great to see you both in wet weather gear ,for a change . A lovely city , with the older building and looks well looked after . Enjoy your selves and will tune in to see more as you go along . Regards to the cat and thank you both for the video .👍😉
It is a beautifully clean and well kept city and the cat sends its regards🐈👋🏻 🙂
You guys always seem to be having fun, good for you. Also that pink soup stuff looked like a dragonfruit smoothie bowl to me. Look it up if you haven't had one
Great video Freddie and Monika. The weather here is so hot….been out to Bike night on the Harley tonight! So many great bikes to see, including RE interceptor and Meteor. Lithuania looks fantastic.
I spend quite a lot of time there each year. A great country
That salami is worldwide famous. it was part of my youth too, 90's country side of portugal... great to tag along your trip and get to know some bits from that side of the world!
Love your raincoat at the start by the way! 👍🏻
After seeing you all around the world it's funny to see Vilnius and especially Uzupis in your video. That's where my family in law lives, love that place !
Lovely gentle film. Quite envious.
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thank’s Freddie and Monika
Poor Monica! Vilnius looks cool, would love to see more from the back of the bike
Welcome to the beautiful Vilnius, been living here and the weather currently is something else...Xo!!
Thanks for the best vibes! ❤
Looks Lovely have a great stay. Like the coffee shops.
Amazing and thank you for sharing about Lithunia. I have visited Latvia-Riga several times so this summer I decide in August so I will visit Lithunia surely Vilnius. It is rather easy to take a ferry for over nigth from Stockhlm - Frihamnen to Vilnius. Best Wishes from STOCKHOLM - SWEDEN
Living here in Washington state in the Pacific NW Freddie it's rainy almost year round, all day everyday, especially in the winter months, horribly depressing, always frustrating as a motorcyclist, and we don't use umbrella's just a rain jacket, if you're using an umbrella your a tourist 😂
This is so true😆☂️I wish I’d have brought my rain jacket!
Very interesting re Washington State- I just assumed you’d get freezing winters but stunning summers.
@@FreddieDobbs I live on the Olympic Peninsula (W. WA) it's more of a rainforest type of weather from the Pacific Coast and Canada weather, lowest I've seen is low 30's F, but rainy and cold makes you feel it, assuming similar to the UK. Summers aren't too bad, it's just they don't last very long 😂
Beautiful city and prosperous too
My Ma Oo just left Estonia a day ago shared lots of pictures. There is that quaint similarity. Madrid had that same red brick flats design with the freedom to customize in some areas when I lived there. Freddie I can't believe you left Monika for the scooter. I'd stroll with you Monika, we know Freddie has to ride a bike of some sort anywhere on this planet or another. You certainly have made video tours a delight.
I had to turn back and wait for Monika as i felt too bad🛴🚶
I’ve heard Riga’s besutiful, I hope you enjoyed it🙂
@@FreddieDobbs I think you mean Tallinn. Although she did a trip to Riga , Latvia. You did well to ditch the scooter although it's understandable you and different wheels.
So cool to see you guys in LT! And even more excited about the classic 350 vids coming up!
I live in Riga and I just got my moto license. The 350 has been the dream bike since I first saw it and
I cashed in all my luck points when I got the only gunmetal gray beauty in the Baltics.
Been riding for 2 weeks straight but this weather ain't helping haha. So yeah, hang in there and
you'll get your slots of sunshine in. The Baltics have a stunning countryside, you won't regret it!
Also my tip -- be extra careful of cobblestone roads and paths, they're super tricky on the 350.
If you're ever in Riga I'd be glad to joyride with you or buy you guys a coffee.
Take care, ride safe, & keep the content coming, you always put that inexplicable smile on my face, even with no bike in sight.
Docked at Riga when on a Baltic Cruise a couple of years ago, and found it a lovely City, and the Vintage Tram ride round the City was great.
Great video guys! Welcome Lithuania! I Hope you enjoy it! ;)
Just a few days ago I was watching Aprilia Tuono r1000 review (the same I own) in Tenerife. And now you are in the city where I living in. :)
Smiled all the way through this!
that cat just stood still, lovely
Thank you so much for this amazing video! I want to go there!! Oh, I'm there!!!! Thank you for showing me how lucky I am. Rains is good, rain is worth of gold thees times! Also, it's July, if it rains on 7th of July, it will rain either for 7 days, or for 7 weeks.
Had Lazy Cake and a coffee in Coffee 1, last week... fabulous 👍🇱🇹 Fantastic stay in Vilnius.
That apartment is quite amazing actually. 😻
I like your style! Super fun 😄
Always the gentleman freddie 😊 great video as always.
Gorgeous place 👍
Great first look at your new adventure! Love the small boy photo bombing you and giving the finger towards the end! Or was it only me who saw this?.
Hello from Latvia :)
Hi🙂🇱🇻👋🏻
Looks cool!
Great see see the city, even just the glimpse. I'm in New Zealand and several of the eBay sellers I buy parts for my BMWs from are in Vilnius! For some reason Lithuania and Poland are the best sources for parts, delivered to this part of the world.
Glad to see you made it,anything on 2 wheels eh Freddie haha, look forward to the Enfield review, safe riding 👊
So true- I don’t care what it is, so long as it has wheels😆
The pet cat likes your resonant tones, Freddie (ears back and very calm).
It nearly always rains in July, August and June are the summer months
Looking to see more of Lithuania in your videos, as have been to Riga (the Capitol of Latvia which is next door so to speak), and really enjoyed our one day stay there.
Wow Freddie, wish I could just ride a scooter in the Lithuanian rain. Just got home. Rode 300 miles from northern Ohio to Kentucky in the rain, and some small hail, on my springer. Your ride looked like a lot more fun. And you had coffee and cake. I had truck stop coffee and a Twinkie 👍😃. You guys have fun over there. Don’t loose the cat.
Damn UA-cam algorithm. Next Monday, after three years, I am going to visit my Homeland Lithuania. I am afraid of what I will feel when I'll go back. I'm afraid of what I will feel, when I'll be hugging my Grandma Janina. I can already feel those rainy summer days on my skin (and you bet ya, I hope for some rain), can smell the wet oldtown, can hear the soft sunshine peeking through the clouds after rainy summer days. Can feel the soft lake water that is moving around my waste and the tranquility... Anny way, thanks, Freddie, for the video.
*"...5 minutes I could've shown you so many things," was my pickup line in high school.* LOL
Lovely to hear Monica's tinkling laughter in the background again. If only the weather was like that here in the south east of England where it is hot and getting hotter, seeing your rain was an absolute tonic.
So envious!!!!!
Great filming and content. So sad that only 600 miles away communities like these are being bombed.
Welcome to Vilnius! What a complete coincidence, I've watched your impressions on the Moto Guzzi V7 and UA-cam now suggests your videos, and now I discover you're visiting my home town! Where are you planning to ride to?
Looks beautiful. Shame about the weather! Bet its stunning when the sun shines
Hello Braškių, I'm enjoying a sunny Suffolk and Norfolk 😂 have a wonderful time in Vilnius Cheers Freddie and Monica.
Bit rainy over there Freddie, we have been out on the Bonnie for 5hrs today all around Gloucestershire and the weather has been glorious. Looking forward to your review on the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
Please don’t rub it in Shane😆
I hope you had a good ride🤘🏻🤘🏻🇬🇧
Well looks like you all are having a good time there? But here we have sunshine and 80 , Thew the rest of month. So I will be on my bike having fun . Have fun in the rain.
Thanks Mitch!😆
Happy riding🤘🏻🏍🙂
Lithuania looks like my kind of place. Food looks good too.
Hey, just was suggested this video by UA-cam. And realized you settled super close to me :) Actually in the house where my friend lives.
Nice one Freddie and Monika....
Lithuania is a magical country. Get out into the villages. I love it !
Great guys you've missed the English summer 😂 Monica!! where has your sense of adventure gone I'd luv to play on one of those scooters 😄the cake looked really nice the soup ! well I would just have to try it I reckon . Good one guys 😊👍
I can confirm it’s also raining today (it’s best I don’t check the UK forecast).
Monika finally agreed to try a scooter and now (quite) likes them😆🛴
@@FreddieDobbs Monica Kudos well done 👌😁
My first view of Vilnius.
Looks great. Worth a trip for the cake!
Are the roads all cobbles like a lit of the rest of the East? Not good in the wet on a bike.
But we're keen to visit.
Watching with interest.
Happy travels 👍
Mainly old town central Vilnius for the cobbled streets. The rest of the roads are all good tarmac so far🙂👌🏻🏍🤘🏻
Very nice man and great voice.
Bolt is such a good service for Vilnius, and rental cars you unlock with your phone. Don't forget to go to the Beer Library!
Glad we have chosen later in the year to go although will probably still be bloody raining tbf! Dalia like most Lithuanians are extremely proud of their beetroot soup and a few years back, she made some for me. Despite my protest that I hate beetroot.. Andmuch to her horror I hated the soup too :-) But do Try the spiky cake raguolis thing if you can get it which is better.
Oh and those scooters have suddenly gone ballistic here too and they are pretty much on every street corner.
Finally Dalia's experience in Vilnius real estate tells her that the building facia alterations free for all isn't quite as free as you might suggest!
A complete joy and greatly looking forward to an extended video on Sunday! :-)
This is very true- it was very brave of you to question the tastiness of beetroot soup (I think I’d have just smiled and nodded even if I didn’t like it😆🥣
Spiky cake; I love it!
I thought it was only a matter if time before the scooters exploded in Tenerife- I love them😃
This is very interesting- I assumed you could do anything you wanted here because every flat is completely different
@@FreddieDobbs you're far more polite and better brought up than I for sure:-(
sadly I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve with regards foodstuffs I don't particularly care for, and no one can convince me beetroot is nice. The first phase I learnt here was "sin cebolla" and it remains my favourite Spanish phrase, whereas Dalia believes everyone loves onion or should be force fed them till they do. she's worse than my bloody mother!!
anyhoo ELR is at the vets in Puerto de la Cruz and the Zed specialist has found why it was running so rough so parts ordered and will be a different bike when I get her back in a month or so.👍
seeing the short Instagram clip, I thought the RE design has tried to be more faithful and sympathetic to the original design such as the rear bracing around the shocks. it works well.
love to Monika, hopefully she's loving her first trip back in 6 years and enjoying catching up on family and friends. 🙂
Dude just lives his best life wherever he goes
Great fun to try another country. May I ask what you do for a living that allows you to travel so much? Very cool!
Me encantó tu video! Hermosa Lituania! estoy estudiando inglés, tu acento me hizo acordar mucho a Brian May y a Freddie Mercury! thank you very much!
Good for you that it is raining ,over hear in Italy it is nearly 2 months that we don't see a drop and it is very hot. and when I say hot i mean very very hot
Nice city. I've always wondered what it looks like. The two coffes and single cake would be 4 euros 40 in Portugal, although you could find it cheaper.
Oh yeah food prices here in Lithuania are crazy and still growing. Especially at restaurants.
Love your trips, Freddie. Could you pls visit the ancestral home of Cpt Marko Ramius? Even the river where his grandfather took him fishing. That would mean so much to all the Red October fans. Thx.
Totally different video from the norm Freddie but just as enjoyable 👍 by the way it was lovely and sunny 🌞 today in Stoke on Trent and the forecast is for it to hit the low 30’s by next Monday…sorry mate 😂👍
Your cat is so beautiful
Vilnius weather looking nice now though
Love your editing and the vintage filter, how you do that
We called Lazy Cake "Polish Chocolate Cake" back in the 80s.
The cat sitting and sleeping on the couch. 🥺🥺
