Not many bands can pull this one off but you did and I'm completely impressed. If I could guess of all the southern rock songs this has to be one of the hardest to play so I bow down in amazement you guys rock hard.
It takes one brave SOB to step up into the spot where Hughie Thomasson once stood. Like many of the previous posters, I think this is probably the best cover of this song that I have ever heard. You guys are really good; now I've just got to figure out how to get you down to Georgia.
definitely the best cover of this song i have ever heard, Hughie would be proud that yall are carrying his tune that tight, keep up the good work, southern comfort band just got another fan
I agree so much. There is a version (original version) recorded live at The Record Plant in LA in 1976. I was at this session as I had won tickets from a radio station give away (I had to name 3 famous outlaws.) There were about 75 of us in this audience room at the studio. Band members were just feet away. We didn't know what we were listen to ,we didn't understand just what we were seeing.. This recording somehow survived and is available here on UA-cam. Here is a link ua-cam.com/video/KitxDI7jokk/v-deo.html
While nothing in the world of artistry is as good as the artist would like.... many of us look at your work and are amazed. Wonderful job on the toughest song I've ever seen.... The band is to be commended.
Yo, these guys are good! Been listening to one track after another enjoying them immensely. Nice job all around, but having a strong singer is the most noticeable thing that this band has over other cover bands I've heard.
I have been listening to the outlaws since i was old enough to know who they are, and this has to be one of the BEST covers of that song that i have ever heard. definitly Liking this and favorite-ing it as well. Great band, absolutely love your stuff!!!
Good job guys. That can't be an easy tune to cover. I saw the Outlaws a few times at their peak. The first time was with Molly Hatchet at the long forgotten Jantzen Beach Ice Arena in Portland, OR. Possibly the worst place ever for a concert. Think of a high school gym from the 1930's with bleacher seating and no floor seats. Those were the days! Both bands cooked. I last saw the Outlaws in Boston in about 1987 at a nightclub right on the marina. Forgot the name but the guys were great and I got to say hi to them. This would be a great tune to listen to in Quad or Surround Sound because of the number of guitars in the mix. I would pay anything to see the classic lineup again but that is impossible now. Green Grass and HIgh Tides Forever!
Just going through some comments...I just noticed this, I know it's from 2 years ago, but I couldn't ignore it...sorry I missed it the firs time. I'm the strat player, and your compliment is overwhelming...I try with everything to do his playing justice, I don't compare to Hughie...he was amazing! I thank you again for the kind words.
Dude seriously i have not given credit to one Outlaws cover but this version was enough to make the two of them roll over and throw the devil horns wherever they rest now.... Simply awesome! Plus the drummer playing for what over ten minutes! Just an awesome band doing the original justice for once!
I know this is crazy but ive just been turned on to these guys, man I must have had my head buried in the sand somewhere but these guys are the real deal. Are they still together still playing or what.Sound great just made a old man stand up and take notice, good job.
I was the keyboardist for a band called Great Train Robbery for eight years (1988-1996), and our guitarist John Giles nailed the solos in this song note-for-note every night (even when the guitar was behind his head), and I covered his harmony lines Jan Hammer-style. Sorry, this vid was disappointing by comparison.
Huh, this is actually quite a decent cover, not QUITE as good as the cover done in Rock Band, but the passion is definitely there for sure. Glad I got to see this, thanks for posting this up.
Holy Shit!!! When are you guys coming to Alaska? You would sell out a weekend in a heart beat. We need good old southern rock up real bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Contact KWHL 106.5 Bod and Chad morning show. They are a rock radio station but they good music when they hear it. They'll make it happen. We had 38 Special; sold out. Fog Hat; sold out. Uncle Ted Nugent; sold out. Please get your asses up here!!!!!
Hallo amazing how you have got ton. me um blessed. tell. them. to. put. southern. flag up. south. has. rights. just. put it. back. wind. blow. it. or. say. blowme. sorry
You guys sound a heck of lot better than those lame posers now calling themselves "The Outlaws" But no one will ever match the lightning guitar magic Hughie and Billy had.
They sound great no doubt, but the drummer and bassist in the pocket and the keyboardist just laying it down? That’s some Chris Layton, Tommy Shannon and Reese Wynans shit right there.
NICELY DONE SIRS!!! UP NORTH YANKEE HERE..LOVE IT.
Hats off to the drummer.
Not many bands can pull this one off but you did and I'm completely impressed. If I could guess of all the southern rock songs this has to be one of the hardest to play so I bow down in amazement you guys rock hard.
Hughy and Billy would be dam proud boys! Outstanding ! keeping southern rock alive!
Can you imagine walking around this casino and hearing a band like this playing? That’s crazy!
Damn, I still lived there back then and wish I'd seen this live. Great cover.
LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great tribute. I know that Hughie would approve 👌
Without a doubt this is the Best Cover I have heard!!!! Excellent Job!!!
I keep come back to this video like a moth to light. The Singer - J.R. Jennings is so great - he done Hughie proud. So are all The Boys !!!
I'll tell you what !! It takes some seeds between your legs to even try to do this song and get close to how it sounds . Got my respect 👍
It takes one brave SOB to step up into the spot where Hughie Thomasson once stood. Like many of the previous posters, I think this is probably the best cover of this song that I have ever heard. You guys are really good; now I've just got to figure out how to get you down to Georgia.
You guys make it look so easy...Hughie,etc. would be proud of you.
The Outlaws would be proud.
I got goosebumples
Excellent job guys, tough act to follow, but you pulled it off
definitely the best cover of this song i have ever heard, Hughie would be proud that yall are carrying his tune that tight, keep up the good work, southern comfort band just got another fan

Cool how he introduced the song
Great and talented group.
i thought i was listening to the outlaws live for a sec before i clicked the tab, this is an amazing cover and easily the best i've heard. keep it up.
Great job on the vocal harmonies, y’all.
Outstanding!
While nothing in the world of artistry is as good as the artist would like.... many of us look at your work and are amazed. Wonderful job on the toughest song I've ever seen.... The band is to be commended.
The best cover band ever!!! Definitely professional musicians!!!
fucking love these guys!
I can't believe I have never seen this! The best cover of GGHT I ever heard!
I have to say... GREAT cover. The best cover of green grass high tides i've ever heard. Keep up the good work guys!
Yo, these guys are good! Been listening to one track after another enjoying them immensely. Nice job all around, but having a strong singer is the most noticeable thing that this band has over other cover bands I've heard.
Awesome cover! Nothing like a Strat and Les Paul blending together!
Outstanding cover of a great song.
Absolutely brilliant band! 🌠💕🌌🕊👌
Hell yeah
I have never heard better than the original.
Well done lads brilliant.
I have been listening to the outlaws since i was old enough to know who they are, and this has to be one of the BEST covers of that song that i have ever heard. definitly Liking this and favorite-ing it as well. Great band, absolutely love your stuff!!!
Awesome Cover! I love that song.
very very good cover !!!!!
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing 🌌💕🌠🕊
good dynamics , great les paul and strat sound !
very nice. The only thing missing was that up-up-up tempo in the last half of that song, that the Outlaws always had. But very nice and clean.
Excellent ..très bonne reprise ....

Why would anyone give this a thumbs down?
good job guys
You boys sound great with this one!
Best cover I've seen of this song as of yet, nailed it. I love the guitar tones as well.
Nice!!! RIP Hughie. Once an outlaw, always an outlaw.
Cheers! Mini May
Makes an old man smile
Well done
Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow
This Connecticut band flying the Dixie Flag has nothing to do with the Confederacy or hating Black folks. It's a symbol today of Southern Rock.
its a traitors flag, always was, always will be.
@@happyrobot6396 The Confederacy was Democrats. As was the Klan. Traitors then and now. Run by your traitor buddies Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer.
Nice Job fellas, I think Hughie would tip his hat to that! Keep up the good work!
Very nice...
The strat player is just like watching Hughie Thomasson!
Just going through some comments...I just noticed this, I know it's from 2 years ago, but I couldn't ignore it...sorry I missed it the firs time. Leave the wife at home & play the Strat for me in your hotel room. Please come to Vegas!!!!
@@The89lespaul Interesting that you played Billy's middle solo, 3:22, on the strat instead of the Les guy.
The best cover, thanks and go go go.
...a very good cover...
Awesome cover
Nice !
Wow. Good job.
Great job on a very tough song! Make it look easy!
nice work. wow
Great job
Well Done!
Nice man!
👍👍

SUPER cover ! un salut de la France On aime aussi le southern rock ici, en tous cas moi c'est sur >3
reminds me of allen & gary
Lead boost guys!
It's not Hughie and Billy, but a damn good tribute version. Vocals are great.
When are you Guys coming to New Orleans
Huh, this is actually quite a decent cover, not QUITE as good as the cover done in Rock Band, but the passion is definitely there for sure. Glad I got to see this, thanks for posting this up.
The delay kills that strat solo😔
Are these guys still playin?
not bad
Connecticut Guitar Army
Where y’all from?
Would rather watch this than Henry Paul & The Not-laws. This is awesome.
yes he sings much better than HP, and their guitar troops do HT and BJ proud.
Holy Shit!!! When are you guys coming to Alaska? You would sell out a weekend in a heart beat. We need good old southern rock up real bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stubbing My toe
Hallo amazing how you have got ton. me um blessed. tell. them. to. put. southern. flag up. south. has. rights. just. put it. back. wind. blow. it. or. say. blowme. sorry
però Hugie era Hugie😪
How come these guys are more polished than Ol' Henry's Not-laws?
Ya ok…
You guys sound a heck of lot better than those lame posers now calling themselves "The Outlaws" But no one will ever match the lightning guitar magic Hughie and Billy had.
They sound great no doubt, but the drummer and bassist in the pocket and the keyboardist just laying it down?

Was a good band while it lasted. To bad they wrapped it up.
Sorry HP, this fella sings better than you, and the boys sound as good as HT and BJ.
Lose the confederate flag. Great cover but it’s not 1950.
What the heck does 1950 have to do with the Confederate flag?????
Moron...
It's the Dixie Flag has nothing to do with Confederacy today.
It's a beautiful flag. Looks great on that mic stand.
You figure they should fly a BLM flag?
