👍👌👏 2) Yes, it's always good to predrill wood, anyhow if you put screws or nails in it. 3) Please kindly allow me to tell you something: A great trick/hack to not split wood is: Simply dull nail pits a bit by one or two wacks with a hammer. Afterwards the nail tip is no longer able to pusch away the wood fibres respektive push the fibres to the sides. Now the nail will break them. With this method the nail additionally holds way better respectively sits much stronger in the wood. Of course: the bigger the nail, the more important is it to dull the tip.
This information was given to me by a building expert more than 40 years ago. I still behave so (with good results of course).
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health in particular. To all of you of course.
    Post Scriptum:
    Great racks! Great music too!

Hey I watch your videos all the time. They're really interesting, but this one was probably one of the most interesting. And I think the reason why there was so much interest in it is that you not only took a bunch of ugly looking logs and cut them with exact specifications, but you then went out in 5 or 10 minutes and made these skids which were highly useful. So when you look at that and you see how quick you were able to Mill those boards up and the useful item that you built two of them actually, you can see a huge amount of money that was saved. And not only that, but those ugly logs would have gone right to a burn pile. So what you did was environmentally friendly as well instead of burning them and destroying them and causing a lot of CO2 emissions, you made something really useful out of them. Excellent job. You should probably do more of these types of videos. You know building picnic tables and other types of useful little projects that you can make.

Re. the drill bit sticking; I find, especially when drilling deep small-bore holes into soft wood, the shavings tend to jam up in the flutes of the drill bit. So I drill down an inch or so, then withdraw the drill bit most of the way out; the shavings fly out of the flutes, and I drill an inch or so deeper still; repeat the whole process till the hole is fully drilled.
