I think this may be my favorite video of yours yet. Jack Frost has always been my favorite guardian and I'm so glad you enjoy his story as much as I do.
Sandman and Tooth Fairy would make a hole in that theory, as they don't embody holidays either, although it would make more sense if it was because his abilities were drawn off of something elemental and not conceptual like the others. But to me, it seemed Jack was more powerful because, having not yet taken the Guardian's oath, his powers were not yet connected to whether or not people believed in him and therefore didn't diminish like the others' did.
Yeah I thought it had to do with being the only elemental Guardian, rather than being dependent on the belief in a myth or holiday as well. I never read the books so maybe I should lol
This also explains why pitch is so dedicated to getting jack on his side , he knows jacks powers, and knows he is a strong Allie, but also a formidable enemy

No, he's going into hibernation. Heat ages and Ice ages happen ten thousand years from the previous one, and five thousand years alternating. The ice age was five thousand years ago, so it's time for a heat age. So, really, Jack is going to sleep for a while and will wake up in a few decades to start making the world colder again.

*Question:* Did Jack revive himself from that icy fall into the lake or did the Man in the Moon actually do it? *Question #2:* You mentioned that Nightlight felt his magic weakening - does that mean Jack Frost is actually weaker than Nightlight and will continue to weaken; or did Nightlight's transformation into Jack Frost grant a renewed and greater power than he held before?
UniquelySamuel Jack died/froze/drowned as he fell after saving his "sister", but the man in the moon revived him and chose him to be a guardian because he sacrificed himself.

So what I think it means is that his nightlight powers, for example, to shine incredibly brightly faded; then other powers (such as the power to control winds) grew making his powers as a nightlight fade while other powers grew. Could jack skellington be the guardian of Halloween? Also could their be older guardians or older versions of the guardians such as older versions of the holidays?
There was a Fanfic I read called Secrets of Frost and Moon (excellent by the way) that explored the idea that Jack was literally a guardians guardian. Chosen by the moon as a guardian but given the role of the spirit of winter thud giving him all of winter power along with that of his believers. It's an awesome way to think of it and also an amazing fic.
Dang! Jack Frost was once an entity named Nightlight. . . The fact that he altered his own destiny, and as such, he then gained a new entity being of immense power. . . thus becoming Jack Frost, the Spirit of Winter. In my opinion-- At least, or other people would agree with me on this.--, Jack Frost and Bambi are two of the most OP characters in Disney history. Whereas Jack Frost is the Spirit of Winter itself, commanding ice and snow, Bambi can hear/feel/sense an enemy's presence with his hooves, making it hard to sneak up on him.

Honestly, I think it’s kind of odd how close DreamWorks stayed to the lore when they made rotg. It’s not a bad thing, and the movie is fantastic for being as underrated as it is, but there are little bits and pieces in the movie that reference the lore, such as Pitch calling Manny an “old friend.” As someone who hadn’t read the books, I thought it was a strange thing to say, but kind of assumed it was a jest at how long they’ve known each other. I also found the character designs and the choice of characters odd. I mean, why the heck does the Tooth fairy look more like a bird or have North be specifically a Russian, and why would Sandman, Pitch, Jack Frost, and MiM even be a part of the story? The other guardians made sense for the plot. Sandman was someone I had heard of a few times, as was Pitch Black (better known as the boogeyman), and with what they were supposed to represent in the movie, it makes sense when explained. But Jack Frost and Man in Moon? It didn’t really make sense to me. Like, yeah ok, when Jack regains his memories, it gives an explanation as to his origin and reason for existing, but MiM is given no explanation. He’s just there. The majority of the audience is forced to just accept that he’s a part of that universe for what appears to be almost no reason. But when you read the books, the designs and characters make a lot more sense. And DreamWorks would’ve known that a majority of their audience would feel similar. So it’s odd to me that they would stay so close to the source of inspiration. It wouldn’t be the first time the movie had nothing in common with the books (*cough* looking at you, How to Train your dragon)
Ok that was awesome!! I’m so happy you enjoy the series, it’s so amazing and magical, and seeing videos that delve further into the movie, or that talk about the books at all, since our fandom doesn’t have much of the book content on UA-cam, gives me so much joy, thank you for this! I also like how you connected the event of the book to the movie, as you probably know there’s still a bit of continuity errors(cough kozmotis cough cough) but it’s interesting and fun to try to connect them
This lore was so great to listen to. It is so touching and amazing that Jack Frost got to live so many lives. Indeed he is special and powerful for a reason. Have a magical day, Issac!
This was basically a constant squealing fest for me! Jack's powers made so much more sense when you take into account that he used to be Nightlight! TOTALLY EPIC!!!!!
@@wyattguilliams2621 It was explained under the assumption that Jack was just a regular human boy. Under the idea that Jack is a NightLight, he shouldn't have baby teeth to begin with.
I'm honestly not sure if movieverse and bookverse can be aligned at all. The movie came out before the books ever revealed that Jack was, in fact, Nightlight - so I guess it just wasn't considered in the script. In any case, they deviated quite a bit from some of the character concepts with the movie, so I tend to just consider them two different universes. It's a good adaption, but the bookverse is simply far too complex to incorporate all of its concepts into one single movie.
I just always assumed that he was more powerful because he was a kid (at heart, and literally-or, at least, closer than any other Guardian), and the Guardians derive their power from children, so obviously he'd have more power, being a power source himself.
Your next video should be about how The Guardians nearly killed Jack But before I get into that, I want to get my personal opinions in: - Jack is so powerful because he is an nature spirit, his powers aren’t conceptually based like the others but a raw and pure force. - Jack had lost his memories because he died, the ONLY one died and experienced death. Unlike the others he wasn’t given a choice (or chosen while alive) but had reanimated after dying at such a young age because of the moon. Now onto my theory: The guardians are proven to have their powers and maybe even their life force connected to belief, the belief of the children they protect Jack’s ceremony, or oath, was held off because of Pitch and done after Jack had gained a few believers What if this was done after they captured him? Without anyone to believe in him? Therefore no fuel for power or stability? Jack could’ve died. There’s of course the possibility that Jack wouldn’t be so heavily weak or live because he’s so powerful and because of him being of a natural force, still it just rubs me the wrong way
Thank you! Finally an explanation of his story that I can fully wrap my head around! But daaaaang, he's way more powerful than he knows! He's probably even more powerful than the movie showed too, it's just that that part of him isn't awake yet.
Why did the man in the moon leave him alone for so long with no memory of who he was when he became a winter spirit, if he was once his protector? Dose jack remember that he is night light? Why didn't the man in the moon just make him night light again? Sorry for all the questions 😂😆
For future reference, Tsar (the "TS" being pronounced like the zz's in pizza) is the Russian term for "King" or "Emperor", so saying "King Tzar Lunar" is redundant and unnecessary, it would just be Tzar. Tsarina is the female equivalent, so it means "Queen" or "Empress". Linguistics is my absolute passion in life, so of course this is all said respectfully and in the spirit o learning :o) Anyway, awesome video! I love your positive outlook and manner of speaking. You make great observations and fascinating theories and that's why I keep coming back for more, heheh. :o) Keep up the great work, man! I love seeing your passion for what you love! Cheers!
Pitch of Black only Jack Frost suggested that he join him. This shows that he was so very powerful that even Pitch of Black feared him and wanted him to be on his side.
Could also say that he was so powerful because he felt Love. At least in the movie he didn't grow to to that level of power until he recalled dying to save his little sister. Those memories unlocked all the confusing emotions he had and made him stronger.
Because it was unsuccessful. Which I blame on the marketing and people who didn't like the unconventional depiction of Santa, Easter bunny, etc. They should have been more open-minded.
Always thought Jack Frost was somehow related to Jamie Bennett. Since Jack did save is little sister that maybe the bloodline to Jamie. Just seem that Jack was connect Jamie in the movie.
And that's why Manny (Man in the Moon) chose him. He was an old friend reincarnated. I am crying, I've always wanted to know the story behind Jack but I could never afford the books. Thank you so much!
Yes, Nightlight is extremely overpowered if you consider his skillset: •Supernovas (when Nightlight stabbed Pitch, it Caused an Explosion brighter than 20 suns). •Flash Steps (Nightlight is damn sure the fastest boy alive, and could race the like of the Flash). Now if Jack somehow manages to regain his Nightlight powers, along with Twiner (which FYI, in the books, can transform into any weapon he chooses in an instant, may it be a Katana, Bow and Arrow, Rifle, any weapon you can think of (Yay, Aphelios time!)), it's possible he can one-hit every single evil he can come across.
Hello Watso, I like the way you told the real story behind the character of Jack Frost. I never read any of William Joyce's books but has seen "Rise of The Guardians." I love Jack's character and his voiceover by Chris Pine. I've been a Disney/Dreamworks fan for years and wanting to become an animator. Life got in the way but didn't stop my talent for art and my interest into the animation world. When "Frozen" came out I fell in love with Elsa's character and always liked the story of "The Snowqueen" from which was the inspiration behind "Frozen." I saw several of your videos and you seem to be the kind of person I should ask this question to. After I saw "Rise of The Guardians" a thought came to me. What if Jack Frost and Elsa was a couple? Could a movie be made of the two? After I thought of this. I didn't know that there was this huge fan phanomon going on called "Jelsa Ship." There is a large fan base of this ship. I've read many comments of fans requesting a movie of the two, which inspired me to paint a series of paintings of them together. I know there are different opinions outthere, but what do you think? Can a movie be made of The two? A good idea or a bad idea?! Thank you, Bridget ☺
I don't really believe the story of The Guardians of Childhood happens in the same universe as Rise of The Guardians. Jack's backstory is too different, some important characters like Katherine and Ombric don't exist, Bunny's personality is very different, and Pitch's definitive defeat happens in 1933, which would make the movie impossible to happen.
Wotso video can you do a theory video on the Rats in the movie/ book the Tale of Despereaux. Because I’m curious to the reason why the Rats want to eat anything even human being. Could the rat king be the one who starve them to death so they could be his secret weapon?
This book series sounds more and more interesting as I hear more about it. I’m sure it would give more context to some confusing parts of the movie. My only question is why doesn’t remember anything about his human life or life as a nightlight? I remember in the movie he recovered his human memories but why were they all lost in the first place?
Just to tell you the Guardians of childhood universe and the Rise of the Guardians universe are different. Pitch Black gets defeated completely by the end of the 5th book which takes place in December 1933. But in Rotg you can see Pitch is still alive and rotg takes place in 21st century. Book Jack intentionally can erase off certain memories while the movie Jack wanted his memories .Book Jack can control his invisibility but the movie Jack can only be seen when someone believes in him. My point is don't confuse the 2 universes they sound same but are factually very different😊.
Ah... the guy that turned a movie that takes place during the spring/Easter into a movie associated with winter and Christmas. Weather patterns are exceptional and change, yes, but still.... a springy season all wintered up and assumed to take place during December over April... still a good movie though
Man, I really need to read these books now! This was an awesome video and I never thought that Jack was actually a Nightlight. I love this movie a lot and it makes me feel like such a child again:)

Night Light and Kathryn sound like Peter Pan and Wendy. Peter pan the boy that never grow up until he meets Wendy and her stories of him. She kisses him and he matures ever so slightly and fights Hook and grows up after seperating from Wendy. Is seen as a forever sign that chuld like wonder is important to hold on to but changing and growing up are important to.
Wait, Jack was Nightlight?!
I suppose that does explain what happened to him...but where are Father Time and Mother Goose?

Could jack skellington be the guardian of Halloween? Also could their be older guardians or older versions of the guardians such as older versions of the holidays?

When ROTG first came out my friends were obsessed with Jack Frost. He was the only thing they talked about in 8th Grade.
I want to know how Hiccup got Night Fury Skined Armour when Toothless is the only Night Fury

Wow I'm early. I really love this movie and the Pitch video and I am glad you made this video.
Ahhhh I ❤️you for making this video happen
What are the chances their are other holiday gaurdians out their. Wonder if they may reveal more in the sequal but i still think if many enemies of the gaurdians are legendary monsters. Since pitch was the boogie man, is their a chance we will see a cucui(mexican boogie man i think) or la llorona? By the way their is gonna be a sequal. Jack Frost 🥶 literally controls the weather
That’s what makes him powerful
Geeze. I have no idea who jack was! I've never seen the books and now I love the movie even more after these last few videos
He is a representation of the force of nature that is cold and ice

I OFFICALLY LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! All I had to see was "Jack Frost" and published THIS WONKING YEAR and I'm in.
Wait, so how and where did the Tooth Fairy obtain Jack's baby teeth?
Luca Ruth
I'm pretty sure that was explained in the movie
It was confirmed that the bookverse and movieverse were altered very differently so its a bit confusing
The movie changed things up a bit to make sense with the new story they created.... Beyond that, I don’t know
clicked to hear about jack frost..leaving with mind blown. ty man!!
I just always assumed that he was more powerful because he was a kid (at heart, and literally-or, at least, closer than any other Guardian), and the Guardians derive their power from children, so obviously he'd have more power, being a power source himself.
That would be a dream come true if Elsa and Jack frost will be together in a movie...
I think its impossible but still i kept on dreaming...
Love your videos Issac!!
Btw my favourite guardian is Jack frost
Your next video should be about how The Guardians nearly killed Jack
But before I get into that, I want to get my personal opinions in:
- Jack is so powerful because he is an nature spirit, his powers aren’t conceptually based like the others but a raw and pure force.
- Jack had lost his memories because he died, the ONLY one died and experienced death. Unlike the others he wasn’t given a choice (or chosen while alive) but had reanimated after dying at such a young age because of the moon.
Now onto my theory: The guardians are proven to have their powers and maybe even their life force connected to belief, the belief of the children they protect
Jack’s ceremony, or oath, was held off because of Pitch and done after Jack had gained a few believers
What if this was done after they captured him? Without anyone to believe in him? Therefore no fuel for power or stability?
Jack could’ve died.
There’s of course the possibility that Jack wouldn’t be so heavily weak or live because he’s so powerful and because of him being of a natural force, still it just rubs me the wrong way
Does anybody else have a crush on Jack Frost?😍😍
Thanks for doing this topic Isaac.👍
I wish that there was a second movie. I LOVE this movie.
Thank you! Finally an explanation of his story that I can fully wrap my head around!
But daaaaang, he's way more powerful than he knows! He's probably even more powerful than the movie showed too, it's just that that part of him isn't awake yet.

THANK U SO MUCH FOR BRING BACK THE LIGHT TO THIS MOVIE AHAHAH! PLS MAKE MORE AGAIN SOON!

Pitch of Black only Jack Frost suggested that he join him. This shows that he was so very powerful that even Pitch of Black feared him and wanted him to be on his side.
I love the movie Rise of the Guardians I love that movie
Could also say that he was so powerful because he felt Love. At least in the movie he didn't grow to to that level of power until he recalled dying to save his little sister. Those memories unlocked all the confusing emotions he had and made him stronger.
I love this movie, it was recomend to me by a friend in college.

There’s a book series
There’s a book series, called Guardians of Childhood by William Joyce
HOLY CRAP! MY CHILDHOOD TOP 1 MOVIE IS STILL REMEMBERED THIS YEAR!
I wish they had made the other books into movies, since the movie felt sort of lacking because it was missing all that backstory that you provided.
And that's why Manny (Man in the Moon) chose him. He was an old friend reincarnated. I am crying, I've always wanted to know the story behind Jack but I could never afford the books. Thank you so much!
I love rise of the guardiens
Yes, Nightlight is extremely overpowered if you consider his skillset:
•Supernovas (when Nightlight stabbed Pitch, it Caused an Explosion brighter than 20 suns).
When "Frozen" came out I fell in love with Elsa's character and always liked the story of "The Snowqueen" from which was the inspiration behind "Frozen."
I saw several of your videos and you seem to be the kind of person I should ask this question to.
I think the books and the movie are supposed to be separate. But your theory did make a lot of sense . . . and leave me speechless.
Agreed!
Yes, more theories on this video
This is my favorite DreamWorks movie
Wotso video can you do a theory video on the Rats in the movie/ book the Tale of Despereaux. Because I’m curious to the reason why the Rats want to eat anything even human being. Could the rat king be the one who starve them to death so they could be his secret weapon?
And this is why the originally planned trilogy of ROTG needs to be completed! Really cool video btw
Ahana Bhattacharya thank you!
Ah... the guy that turned a movie that takes place during the spring/Easter into a movie associated with winter and Christmas. Weather patterns are exceptional and change, yes, but still.... a springy season all wintered up and assumed to take place during December over April... still a good movie though
Maybe you should do more Lion King. Like maybe talk about about Timon and Pumbaa story.
