2007 f350 6.0. Started with 2 and 8 glow plug faults. Changed all left side plugs and harness. Found controller bad also. Now I’m getting 4 Faults on drivers side. Any ideas
Yr video was very helpful and everything fell in to place very early. Well the reason I started to change the plugs and harness was that my truck would run perfect as long as it was worm. Well after I replaced the plugs and harness I still have the same problem. What do you think it might be?
What motor mount bolts should be removed to rock the motor? The 4 on the block or the 2 on the cross brace? I removed the 4 going into the block an there is no separation between the block and mount and the motor doesn't rock, just lifts the whole motor.
STP oil treatment is a fantastic lube for orings on glow plugs and injectors for these 6 liters. Its so slippery it will make you think of the first time a girl let you go all the way.
Good video. What all did you remove on the drivers side and also what on the passengers side? Do you put grease on the glow plug tip or in the hole in the harness where it slides onto the glow plug? And how far would you say the engine is raised on the drivers side? How far (in inches) does it come up at the jack, and where do you place the jack exactly? Does the mount separate completely? Are there studs that are still through their holes?
Did you ever get an answer on this? I need to jack it up but have no clue how high to raise it or if I need to remove or disconnect anything from the engine before I jack it up. Thanks
i got the truck tore apart i put to new turbos into it even never thought these damn early glow plug harnesses would be this big of a pain on the passenger side
OH man thank you so much i almost ripped out everything on my early 03 i was getting so damn mad. one ? can you can the glowplugs out also with the engine jacked up
I had injector #5 copper washer fail ( replaced washer/black/and white orings.) Hydro locked the motor at a stop light. I have pulled all the passenger side glow plugs to find the cylinder that had locked. No as the engine warms up past 150 degrees i start blowing white smoke (not sweet smelling) no engine codes. Where should i look next? could it be a failing glow plug? bad injector cup? another bad injector? i am lost now.
Currently we just pulled my brothers early 04' motor and about to set in a 05' from a donor, the 04' harness fixable but seen better days can we use 05' engine harness with early 04' pcm instead of repair and extend old one? both harnesses look appealing for my 03'
Hello, thanks for the video. Early 2003 6.0 power stroke, F350. I am having a Fuse F2.22 short problem. This fuse keeps blowing at initial key turning causing a crank no start. I think the cause is in the glow plug system. I pulled a code p0677 from my scan gauge, so I replaced my glow plug 7 and also my glow plug module with no success from the fuse blowing. If I unplug the black plug to the glow plug module, the fuse does not blow. So, do think possibly the passenger side harness is bad? Do these harnesses go bad? It seems in good shape. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Sean in Montana.
Ha , I'm in the same boat. Engine is in the floor all put back together and I can't figure out which side is which ? Did you figure it out ? Do they both run towards the front of the engine ?
I will second that you do not use a 2004 glow plug harness on a early 2003 6.0L Powerstroke. I learned this lesson the hard way. You need to be aware of all the changes made to these 6.0L engines throughout the years they were produced if you do your own work on your trucks so you can get the right configuration for your truck. One new glow plug harness was included with the main engine wiring harness that I replaced in my 2003 (mfg. 1/2003 truck), so I replaced it out of ignorance, thinking the new design would work. I ruined the 2003 harness getting it out on the passenger side (yes, I made the mistake on the difficult side to replace!). You will have starting difficulty in cold start conditions having the wrong glow plug wiring harness on a 2003. I am getting to be an expert on these engines because of all the issues I've had with my 2003 Excursion. Thanks for the clarification 6.0Doctor!!
Can u make a video installing a 03 style harness please!

In early 2003 6.0 Powerstroke turbo diesel can the glow plugs and wire harness's from the fender area?

What do you think it might be?
injectors down glow plugs only warm up the cylinder to help ignite the fuel no to help it run they only cycle for 15 sec then shut off

Sorry, I meant to say I unplugged the green to the glow plug harness, not black. Green is odd glow plugs and black is even glow plugs.

Ordered new harnesses for my 07. Didn’t label the old ones. Noticed ones longer than the other. Where does the longer one go?
