this build order is absolutely insane, managed to teach it to a friend who is new to rts games and now he's carrying me every match lol. Would love to see an abbasid build order as they are my main and my civ feels left behind atm
The reason why your knight can't kill villager with charge and 1atk is that, you need to have blacksmith, French get free melee upgrade from it, that +1 atk will kill off the left over hp in same situation.
The REAL reason the vills survived is because: Vill has 50 hp Royal knight charge = 29 damage. Royal knight auto = 19 damage. 29 + 19 = 48 After about 2 seconds after charge, royal knight has +3 damage for 5 seconds. Pause at around 6:29 you can see the knight has a buff icon over his stats (armor, attack, health) So the vill survived because Hera attacked too fast. You have to wait 2 sec after the charge to get the +3 damage for 5 sec. That is 29 + (19+3) = 51
Why not set the guild hall on gold (a scarce resource late game) and put villagers on food instead? Is it because to maintain such food production would require farms which are less efficient costing wood?
If I’m brand new to the game, is this a good build to play over and over just to learn the game? Does it work in 2v2, 3v3 larger maps when I’m playing with my buddies? Thanks!

I understand the point of saving wood for springals but a blacksmith would have given you free attack upgrades, consider building it at least after going to castle age (maybe if you did in feudal, you could have killed the vills in 2 hits, right?)
Springald DPS is so low when facing a mass of units though, the AI had a bunch of spears in this and a mangonel would've flattened the group but the springald can only poke and kill like one or two tops. It's as if the springald doesn't actually matter here, you're just winning with knights really
springalds are made to poke spears and other siege out, I don't think you understand the basics at all. The point of having this high range unit is forcing the opponent to engage in bad trades, mangonel don't have the range to do that.
@@HenriqueRJchiki i think I'd really need to see this against a pro player instead of intermediate AI to get a feel for how strong you say this is. It didn't really feel like the poke damage was enough of a deterrent and in this case the AI had barely any spears to really fight
@Eye of the Enemy Official You're late to the party mate, springalds (siege in general) are confirmed to be overpowered and the main go to late game composition, Genesis was pretty much who can build siege faster and micro them better.
@@TheBlackfall234 The knight is already a strong unit. The fact you can produce it as soon as you hit feudal AND it can get a tech to heal is just crazy. Also you never have to cut wood to produce units.

Hi I am a new subscriber and new to play AOE4, my first RTS ... thank you for this video a lot to take in but, can you please share a video in continuation to the "first 5 minutes with the French .... because Im playing that strategy and it really works when I don't mess up the execution, the issue is ... if the cavalry rush fails or if I lose a cav or two, or he has too many spears ... then Im lost because I have no guideline to what to do next, especially now when everybody expects the french to go for fast feudal cav rush, so can you please elaborate on the next step? .... thank you!
add an archery range pretty much straight away once youre feudal age, get archers for the spears. Basically do what hes doing in this video except with archers rather than springalds.
are they gonna charge us extra for civs? honestly $63 is a steep price for this game not gonna lie, I like that there's QoL things compared to AoE2 but there just isn't enough to justify the price imo...
I think people are used to 10$ stuff from Aoe2 since it's an old game with constant updates. But this is a new AAA title, 60$ is just an industry standard. I am willing to bet that the Call of Duty games are far easier to pull off yearly for the same price.

The reason the vils live is because the AI researched the hunting tech for vils that give +1 armor. 1 armor x2 attacks = 2hp left
if you build the blacksmith I think you automatically get the attack upgrade to negate it? not sure though

On minute 6:16 hera clicks on a vill and it has 0/0 armor 50 health. And I cannot find a tech that gives +1 armor. I am very confused right now
