There’s nothing like the sound of a spitfire engine, my late brother in law kept them serviced and ready for take off in WW2. I was about 20 when he died aged 52. I remember one of his colleagues did a fly past tribute over his funeral, that engine sound has stayed with me to this day:) Great video Stephen thank you 🙏 for bringing back a sound from the past! 🤗
I love Spitfires my auntie Molly was in her 80s when I knew her at 13. Both her boys were spitfire pilots. Both lost in eary years of the war 21, 24 years old
Red arrows are fantastic remember coming home from Lincoln one afternoon and we pulled into a lay-by to watch the red arrows practicing ...they came right over our head and one did a little bow ....amazing
Great Video Steve I Enjoyed It Loved That Rolls Royce Merlin Powered Spitfire ❤ Thanks For Posting The Cessna Citation My Late Father Worked At A Factory That Built Heating Controls For The Cessna At The Battle Creek Airport in The 1970s The Concorde Came Here I Saw A Video Of It😊 Have A Great Night😊
Love the spitfire, they have one permanently outside raf Benson in Oxford, seen it many of times as a kid. Lovely to see it still in action. Cheers Stephen, great little video matey 🫡

Hi Steve I have just watched a video you did 3yrs ago on the history of the Derby baths and I loved it and that old picture of what the baths actually looked like was brilliant thanks for that history lessen loved it.
Brilliant video of the Spitfire Stephen, think £3,000 is an extortionate amount of money but good luck to those who can afford it.! Thanks for the video Stephen.😊😊😊
When you consider fuel costs, landing fees, insurance, etc, and availability of spare parts (there are none - most of them have to be made to order) you can understand it.
Bloomin brilliant Stephen😊 I love all things aviation. Been in a helicopter twice around Derbyshire and once to and in the Grand Canyon. My friend's also taken me up in her microlight a few times. Love it.❤
they could do so much more with that airport, extend the tram service into there, though it was a spitfire flying over, but the hurrican was just as good.
It's amazing what cones & goes from Blackpool Airport. My late dad used to take me & my late mam to Sunderland airshow to watch the Red Arrows fabulous 👌 👏
Brilliant Stephen, that deep sound, just imagine 100s of them in the sky's. Thanks to you I've started my own Chanel, just a quick question, how long before you realised it was taking off, pardon the pun, I started a week ago, not expecting much yet, let's say I need to up my game. Anyway thanks again Stephen, glad to see you back in UK .. magic 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing Stephen my dad was in the R A F in the war and got a bravery medal 🏅 I'm trying to get a place to live in Preston but not easy to rent
Its amazing how the Air Ambulance stays in the air with propellers going so slow at time stamp 7:50 🤣🤣🤣 If you look hard enough, one of those tiny pixels, on the sand dunes, behind the Air Tower is me.🤣
Smashing video Stephen, Rolls Royce merlin engine music to my ears, and believe or not a 13 year old girl by the name of Hazel Hill designed that fire power that was fitted to the spitfire. Now there's a bit of useless information everyone 😂
Stephen it will be great when domestic flights return the government should spend some money and reopen blackpool airport they would make a good return on investment with holiday makers I remember flying from belfast to blackpool with jet2 would be great if it reopened
I agree. First you have to buy the Spitfire, refurbish it, keep up with the maintenance, find somewhere to store it, pay for fuel, pay the pilot, pay airport fees. Suddenly £100 per minute seem a bargain.
Ffs you should be up under the trade descriptions act! i am watching this on a 40 inch tv and I can't see the bloody thing; film a jumbo jet next time or this beer monster might start to kick off!
Steve until you decide to stop eating £1 burgers 🍔 you will always look like a bean pole pal who's pockets are close to your boots. Surely all the donations you get could you to at least buy some chips pal ,the term GRANITE ,is something I think will always be your Monica, remember pal you can't take your savings with you when your time is up,like us all .GET SPENDING 😮
Worth every penny must be a honour to fly in the spitfire we all should grateful to that aircraft and the brave pilots who flew them we never forget

@@hamshackleton Put that way yes, it is understandable.
Thanks for another great vlog Stephen i think that it would be great to go up in the spitfire
go for it Steve, that will be fun!
Bloomin brilliant Stephen😊 I love all things aviation. Been in a helicopter twice around Derbyshire and once to and in the Grand Canyon. My friend's also taken me up in her microlight a few times. Love it.❤
Going up in a microlight is quite a brave thing to do!
You're strapped in tightly and I have confidence in the driver😂👍
brilliant vid. thanks.
Thanks Stephen, nice spitfire. The Cessna Citation you saw there at Blackpool is operated by Silesia Air, based in Prague and was built in 2010.
Great Stephen.👍
Thanks Richard 👍

Absolutely brilliant Stephen just wish i had 3 thousand pounds knocking about woukd love to go in the Spitfire
Thanks for sharing Lee
Lee ?????😅😊

It started with a bang. I was monetised within a month of my mean streets video in July 2020, but I’ve had this channel since 2006.
Thanks for sharing Stephen my dad was in the R A F in the war and got a bravery medal 🏅 I'm trying to get a place to live in Preston but not easy to rent
Great video Stephen love the Spitfire
Thanks Charles
There’s a replica Spitfire mounted and permanently on view at Fairhaven lake just down the road from St Anne’s.
Smashing bit of video Stephen.
Thanks for this video Stephen. Great stuff...!
Was walking on the beach at St Anne’s on Sunday and got a great video of the Spitfire coming over the beach when landing
Fantastic vlog🎉🎉🎉.
Hi Stephen, great video, gutted I missed it. Hopefully see you up at Warton at some point, cheers Andy ✈️ 👍
Loved the video. Thank you
Thanks for watching.
Great vlog Steven amazing 👍
Its amazing how the Air Ambulance stays in the air with propellers going so slow at time stamp 7:50
🤣🤣🤣
If you look hard enough, one of those tiny pixels, on the sand dunes, behind the Air Tower is me.🤣
Very good video Stephen and loved the spitfire but 3K for a flight in one is way over the top. Well done.
I used to go on the flight to Stansted with Ryanair. Brilliant flight. Tickets were cheap. Always busy but quick.
A similar aircraft flew over St Helens yesterday. I think it may have been landing at Liverpool airport
Another great video
Used to be a busy airport back in the day, when the open golf was onback in the seventies, all world famous golfers flew in.
I remember all the private jets.
It would be nice to see you and Lee climb aboard that Spitfire for a quick flight 👍 Au
It would never leave the ground, with Lee on board - even if they could shut the 'lid'! 🙂
@@hamshackleton He woud give everyone a good comentry 😂 Au
Nice one Stephen ❤😊
That is one beautiful "bird".
Smashing video Stephen, Rolls Royce merlin engine music to my ears, and believe or not a 13 year old girl by the name of Hazel Hill designed that fire power that was fitted to the spitfire. Now there's a bit of useless information everyone 😂
Just Googled her name. I've learned something!
❤❤❤❤❤Magic
Well that's not for the every day person with those prices. WOW 😳😦 great shot of the spitfire and it's teeth x
Great vidio and weather planes 3000 pounds lots of money 💰
Very busy airport never been drove past a few times. If had 3 grand I would have a go in the spitfire
It’s all taking off in Blackpool ✈️
🤣 Brilliant! 😂
Evenin 3.000 quid where does it fly to? Crickey!!!! Great shot of it though till the next one 😊
Is the airport terminal still there remember flying from stansted to Blackpool with a friend for the day was brilliant on Ryanair 👍
No. The terminal was demolished for an office building. You might be able to see it in the distance on the video.
Tiger teeth on a Spitfire, made it look like a Kittyhawk.
Stephen it will be great when domestic flights return the government should spend some money and reopen blackpool airport they would make a good return on investment with holiday makers I remember flying from belfast to blackpool with jet2 would be great if it reopened
Well You Have A Morrison Shelter There Incase Jerry Turn Up. 😉
😊😊😊
👍👍👍
Aeroplane vid - a bit on the fly! 🙂 Can't beat the sound of a Merlin engine.
We have a working Lancaster in my City of Hamilton ont. People pay to fly on it.
Was it Mitchell who invented the spitfire, he died quite young, there is so much in Blackpool, it's a great place to be
Yes, Reginald J Mitchell. He died of cancer, and never saw his creation fly.
Get a good view of planes and helicopters taking off and landing when at AFC Blackpool FC's ground (Blackpool Mechanics FC in old money)
I've not been round that way apart from driving along the back road to St Annes. Might be worth smooch.
You’re right, that’s a Diamond DA-42. Spitfire rides for £3k? Take my money!
Oftet see the air ambulance flying over south Cumbria
Andy Halline
When did this happen? 👍
All weekend
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool ah ok I just missed it then 👍
👍👍💥💥💥💥💥💥💥👍👍
Stephen my wife thinks you.look like a older version of football player Harry Kane 😂
I'll take that as a compliment!
Hi everyone
Is she powered by a Griffin?
Someone told me it’s a Merlin.
It DA62 that twin one
I thought I saw a spitfire fly over...and had to do a double take....
Be nice Stephen
I looked into those pleasure flights, it's not actually that expensive
I agree. First you have to buy the Spitfire, refurbish it, keep up with the maintenance, find somewhere to store it, pay for fuel, pay the pilot, pay airport fees. Suddenly £100 per minute seem a bargain.
Would one of them make it to Dallas lol
Hi Stephen
You'd have to sell your body Steven 😅
4 months b4 the air show Blackpool is spoilt
Ffs you should be up under the trade descriptions act!
