Kaznzuri guys! I feel your joy, sense of accomplishment and pain. We summitted mid-July’24 via 9-day Lemosho route. No one told us how hard the descent is 😄 Phenomenal Tanzanian guides, porters, chefs, food and people💪🏽🙏🏼
I shot all of it on GoPro12. I took a tripod, extendable handheld pole, and 5 enduro batteries. I just shot things when they looked interesting. I wish I took more footage at the top but the weather was not good, I had bronchitis and was struggling with the altitude. I should have done some more time lapses in the afternoons as well, but I didn't want to be away from the group all the time. Buffalo Camp has the best views of the mountain and the view of Mawenzi from Kibo is beautiful. I hope you have better weather than us at the summit!!
Now you have found the idea of filming the journey right: The picture itself tells it all, no talking, just quiet walking. This is the real thing up there, when you just have to walk and walk for hours. I reached Uhuru Peak on 15th of Feb, 1989. The whole top of was covered with snow and ice. Seems to be quite different today. So sad, but the reason is known for all. There is no need to report every 10 min. about your feelings, no need to tell about headache. or anything. IT HAPPENS THERE! But this the US style.
Glad you enjoyed it, yes there is plenty of time for introspection whilst walking. Everyone has their own feelings and emotions during the trip and this video is meant to elicit them purely from imagery alone.

Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm doing this trip in September and I'm really curious how you went about getting your video. What gear? What was your approach?
