Why global warming could be a windfall for Greenland

  • Greenland is the largest island on our planet. What do we know about it To begin with, this is one of the Vikings' two blunders: only ferocious bearded men could call the land full of greenery Iceland, and the kingdom of ice Greenland. Yes, and only the strongest can survive here: the night on the island lasts from mid-November to early December - about 80 days, 110 more days is a polar day, and only 175 days the daredevils have to admire the Sun and the Moon in the usual mode - perhaps this is why the number of suicides here is out of control? However, let's not talk about sad things. Greenland is also famous for its fisheries - the fishing industry accounts for 9/10 of total exports. But there are enough fish in the world - why is it now that there has been such a surge in interest in the Kingdom of Cold? Why could global warming become super profitable for Greenland?

The world is burning and all we worry about is how it will make us richer! We're really fucked up as a species. 😥

If you can't locate Seattle within 450 mi (cf. 8:23), of what accuracy level can we be assured in the rest of this vid?

Why did you only mentioned those third world islands are in threat?

I feel like I'd rather have Hawaii and Fiji and keep the coast lines we already have than see Greenland melt and become an economic success. Sorry Greenland

Official global warming is +1.0 to 1.5 C in the GMST anomaly (Know what that is?) over 140 to 170 years depending on the "expert" and database. 15 C to 16 C is a scary increase of 6.7%.
But “C” does not have thermodynamic substance, “K” does.
Properly cited as 288 K to 289 K, + 0.34%, this difficult to measure change is too trivial to be some kind of dangerous trend.
The current GMST trend is 0.013 C PER YEAR!!! (UAH data) Insignificant! And impossible to actually measure. How is that a “heat wave?”
It's noise in the data, UHI, instrument uncertainty and drift, minor albedo change.......
80% of the surface did/does not even have credible weather data. (Heller)
Some summer engineering interns loaded gobs of garbage data into the computer's maw, spun the algorithm wheel and hurled out a statistical hallucination.

Have we crossed the point of no return in terms of damaging the planet? There is no such point. We need to trust that our thought, which is our greatest quality, can change nature. We only need to understand the direction to which we should aim our thoughts. What should we think about? What condition or state should we aspire to and ask for?
In order to save our planet, we should think about positive human connections. That is, how can we, in our connections, keep nature safe? How can we all together protect our world? If we truly wish to better our planet, then we should see people holding a concern for how to positively connect everywhere that we look.
It has nothing to do with recycling or other activities that we commonly associate with as being sustainable. If we come closer to and consider each other, that we will reach an entirely organic, perfectly connected and round state, then the negative forces will disappear from the world.
We need to understand that if we start thinking better about each other, then the planet will recover from all harm, because our thoughts are the strongest force in nature. Likewise, our negative thoughts about each other are entirely to blame for damaging the planet. That is why the more we recycle and invest in energies and activities that we commonly think of as being sustainable, the worse our planet becomes. Nothing will work to benefit us until we reach a state where our attitude changes toward each other for the better to protect and improve our planet.

What a interesting video. What's money going to do when when the ice melts and releases metric tons of methane into the atmosphere? Wet bulb events anyone? Good chance we are past the tipping point anyway. The earth will be better off without humans anyway.

What an awful documentary. We have enough carbon in our atmosphere.
