981 Cayman S Exhaust Comparison (PSE, Capristo, Soul)

- Silver Cayman S - PSE + 200cell Soul Performance headers
Black Cayman S - Capristo muffler + stock headers (I think the valves open when at high rpm regardless of setting?)
Blue Cayman S - Soul Performance muffler + stock headers
I think the Capristo sounds the best. It makes the Cayman sound like a supercar...
💯 can confirm
Sounds like my 981 Spyder with the valves open 😹😹
Amazing NA flat 6 .. ofcourse these cars have "supercar sound" with custom exhaust !! (much better sound than the modern turbo charged supercars)
I played this for my wife who doesn't know shit about cars and even she was blown away by the 3rd exhaust sound!
Wow! The Soul one
I think the blue one smashed it out the park
Definitely
The PSE sound the best, Capristo sounds obnoxiously loud and soul has a deep throaty sound. The PSE is the best all round sound keeping the flat six sound in tact, the two others are boy racer type, the soul comes second best.
Have a 987.2 S with Capristo 200 cell headers and valved exhaust. Valve closed cold start is quiet and car has zero drone while cruising. Valve opens automatically around 3k if you stomp on it, and of course if you open the valve via remote. Even though it is extremely controllable, the top end howl is not for everyone. By comparison, my 986 with full system Fabspeed is way louder at start and cruising, but quieter at peak.
Honestly the PSE and Soul header combo sounds like it just amplifies the flat six sound. Love it! Changing the headers to 200 cells changes the air flow rates the sensors are reading and typically can reduce power if not tuned. Have you noticed a drop or had this dyno'd?
This is not true (power drop). The ECU can adapt to the increase in air flow, but only so much at which point you can end up running lean if the air flow is improved so much (unlikely that it makes that much difference)
My 987 has the 9A1 engine too and I have installed straight through headers and performance is increased (measured acceleration runs). I am not 100% sure, but I imagine with the benefit of mapping it would increase further but we shall see about that when it gets mapped.
@@pintsizedpistons okay. Let me know what you see once you’ve had it tuned. I once had IPE’s on a 997 Carrera and the power below 3500 rpm’s dropped a bit post adding the exhaust (it was running lean). A tune sorted it out and there was a power gain but not enough to make a huge seat of your pants difference on an NA engine
Capristo valves closed and Soul valves opened 👌😍
Where is everyone getting these good fitment duck bill spoilers?
I need to know
I had a capristo. Its amazing
Isn't there a soul header warning light?
Thank you for this video, what a great comparison. Hard to pick a favorite! Obviously I'm sure the Soul Headers with PSE will retain the best stock feel as far as drone but how is the soul exhaust with stock headers? Does it drone bad? That capristo sounds amazing but it seems there isn't much difference with the valves closed (that I could tell anyway), and I'm sure it must wake the dead...
When I didn’t have headers. With valves closed (SOUL). Couldn’t hear a thing. Now I’m catless headers.
@@Quyensanity Bet you can hear it now lol. I'm about to get rid of my PSE as with catless headers it's too loud lol
Capristo - by far!
The black car is the sound I'm looking for on mine...
Anyone know what spoiler the black and blue vars have?
why is there that turbo spool sound at the end of these NA cars
Capristo all the way
Capristo wins. More throaty and deeper. That's what you want it to sound like above 4k rpm.
😍😍😍😍😍😍 Soul hands down 😍😍😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏
PSE the best sound!!
Jesus Fucking Capristo!!!
What is this heck spoiler ? Middle one is serie but the others ?!?!
a completly stock car is missing in the comparison
