The reason all three films just cost 250 million and the reason why these films have aged so well is because Peter Jackson heavily favoured practical effects instead of CGI.
This movie trilogy was adapted from the lord of the rings books written by J.R.R. Tolkien. He was the first one to cause such a jerk in the fantasy genre and was published long before game of thrones. The writer of game of thrones was largely inspired by this series and also he had not ever seem or read sth as magnificient. Lord of the rings is the projinetor of all fantasy movies we know harry potter, game of thrones. The book is beyond compare, as well as the franchise.

The reason for the magic was that Tolkien was actually highly dedicated to the book. He extended not only the required plot points but extras that he created just because he loved it so so much. He also created atleast three languages all on his own.

If anyone asks me to make a list of my favorite films, it'll be a really hard task for me. But if I have to name one film, its definitely The Lord of The Rings! (I consider them as a whole actually).
Lord of the rings is one of the best trilogies ever made. I don’t understand why Indians don’t like to watch these classics. It’s def in the top3 trilogies ever made. Other two would be star wars 4-5-6 and Nolan’s Batman.
Other cool series to watch are Game of Thrones and The Witcher
