    Which of these two options would be best?: Only have one accessible side of the bed but be in the command position OR having two accessible sides but having the door opening hit the foot of the bed (would be able to see the door from the side)

      I read that when placing bed in master bedroom, the legs of the neither couple point towards the door of bedroom , if so it invites infidelity and ill health ! So the bed placement in one had the leg of the person sleeping on the left side of bed would have lounging towards door ?! Any suggestions to avoid the negativity of infidelity?

    Could you please give some orientation?

    So glad I found you and your video- my daughter is having a lot of issues and I thought it had to do with her room- her room is almost similar to the last bedroom design on this video same door placement but the Windows you have together, she has one on that back one to the left and one on that wall to the right, so if I move her bed to the same spot as you mentioned on the left middle wall the window is aligned to her bed.. On that one wall where you closed a line and added a crystal, she has that wall as a long closest, which is mirrored. Her bed know faces the opposite wall, when you walk in the door, her head is at, which now I know why, she is probably feeling the way she is feeling, because you explained it perfectly in this video, so please help, as I'm at a lost of ideas, and want to help her. Thank you for any advice

      It is very hard for me to comment as I am having difficulty visualizing it. You can submit a to-scale floor plan (if it is clear and easy to read) I will add it to my bedrooms that I will review in a blog post or another video. Also if you join my Facebook group I could do a live video and use it as an example. The other option is of course to book a Skype consult with me and I would do it a full review. Hi, I want to put my bed in a feng shui position however I don’t really an empty wall. My house was built in the 70’s and the closest empty wall I have also have a door leading to the backyard. The description of my bedroom is basically, south end of the bedroom have a door to the backyard, the window is facing the east side wall, the west side wall contains the closet and main entrance to the bedroom, & the north side wall is where the bathroom is located. As you can see I really don’t have much option to work with. Any help with this is very much appreciated. Thanks

    Hi! Love your videos. I have a question, in order for my bed to be in the command position half my bed needs to have a window behind it. How do you correct that? The only thing I gathered from your video is I can use a Feng Shui crystal, but I'm not sure if that works for partial window and busy wall behind me. Thank you so much! Your videos are amazing!!! :)

    • @morrisfengshui
      @morrisfengshui  7 років тому +1

      You may not be able to place the bed in the command position and may have to go with next best option. If your window goes behind the bed that is not ideal - I also feel like it will split the energy. You could try to do it with a solid headboard and black out blinds but you may want to consider the next best position and adjust if needed.

    Thanks for the video, the last floor plan is very similar to mine but in our tradition we are not supposed to have our head to the West and if I follow your recommendation, that would be the case and I can’t see the door either. My question is whether feng shui considers direction as well.

    • @morrisfengshui
      @morrisfengshui  5 років тому

      Hi Chanthy - there are different schools of feng shui. Compass school uses the cardinal directions, the feng shui school I follow uses at the flow of qi (chi) to read the space. We do not use the directions when determining where to place the bed but instead use the concept of the "commanding position" - so being able to see the door would be the first step, or adjusting so you can see it.

    May I have some advice for my room?
    It's a challenging one because it's a small rectangle, with a door on either end, one to ented the other to my brothers room (i have a wardroob with a white sheet over his door to create a barrier, I found it helped because before I was at the mercy of his negative energy, it was drivibg me insane 😂) but than on the right wall i have a medium slanted window.
    My bedroom is 2 and half steps width and 5 steps lenth, I'm incredible sensitive to energy and I feel I'm bein held bacl by the things around me. Also there is a radiator on the only straight wall 😂 I do have plants, but I feel really bad for them now understanding the energy of a house. If I had it my way right now I would build a cob/rammed earth house with only organic eco friendly materials and I would only use electric for my fridge, I would make a cob oven and everything will be carfully ocustrated with feng shi, I wouldn't have curtains because I'd want to syncronise with the earth. That's my dream home, 100% syncronised and everything gives off positive energy, nothing draining 😊 I still live with my family but I will do this one day. But for now 😂 I have to do the best with what I have, I do have some crystals and some sage?
    The walls are purple and I have a fairy painting on the wall, I don't have a carpet, just a blue yoga mat ( I didn't want one, I felt the bare floor would be grounding 😂)
    I use a light blue pillow case and mattress sheet, but my cover is pink with a checkered purple blanket. I always have problems sleeping so I know this is an issue.
    My head is layed around South/south east. Feet to North/North East. The window is by my feet, brothers room is 2 and half diagnal steps from my feet, but the sheet covers the door and the light wooden wardrobe, me head is layed next to the entrance door, I try sleep on my left because It's healthier. But than I'm facing the wall. If I sleep on my right I'm looking along the door 😂

    Hello, great pleasure, I write because I have a room that according to what I have seen is all wrong, it is a room of 1.50 meters wide x 3 meters long. I tried to turn the bed but for a few centimeters it does not fit wide. It turns out that the door that faces the garden remains on my feet, behind the wall on the left side when I get there is the kitchen and just there is the stove and the gas drum, behind the wall of the bed is a corridor, On the side right I have a marqueza with a large mirror, the bathroom door and a closet. There is another neighbor's bathroom behind the wall of the marqueza. Although I could turn the bed wide, I would have my head or my feet on a wall where on the other side there is a stove and a bathroom.
    How can I minimize all that?

    I am having difficulty but happy you could help with some ideas
    I am in an apartment, and would have a command position on the one wall,
    Parnell is a closet with sliding doors, that behind share a wall to a kitchen
    The problem is 3 things,
    There is a built I. The wall air conditioner on that wall over the bed/ part of the bed
    And the windows are not balanced at all being g in odd spots for the wall, one when you fire walk in the door,
    The other across the closet wall between the middle and right corner
    I AM SO STUMPED!
    I know it wont be perfect but I need to find a way to be the best option and correct the issue,
    I dont know what is "worse" then the other, can you please help?

My bedroom is designed the way you mentioned towards the end of the video where the only bed placement is either on the quiet wall (with head directly in path of doorway) or on the wall shown in the floor plan where the bathroom is. hi. this video was very helpful. However, my floor plan is similar to #2 but where you poisoned the bed there is another window there. I also have a baby crib in the room so what would you recommend for the positioning of the crib?

    • @morrisfengshui
      @morrisfengshui  7 років тому

      If possible having the crib in command is best (baby can see the door) but if you are sharing a room I think positioning so he can see you. Against a wall is fine for small children too who need the support of a wall along the side. If you want to join my Facebook group you can always post a photo and get feedback from members. Hi Morris! In example N:3 you recommend adding water elements, water colors or an artwork with water to level the fire from the kitchen stove. I also read that adding water in the bedroom is not recommended, as it will drain energy and wealth. How would you comment on that? Anything else that you would recommend?

    • @morrisfengshui
      @morrisfengshui  7 років тому +1

      Normally yes I try to avoid adding water in the bedroom (mirror and actual flowing water) it can be disruptive to sleep. I don't think of it in terms of draining wealth specifically but you could make a case that it would effect sleep which = diminished productivity = lowering your ability to make money. In this instance when I recommend 'watering down' the fire wall it is very specific to this layout. Especially if the stove is against that shared wall. In Feng Shui you need to look at the art of the practice as well as the science of it. You need to make the call between sleep vs anxiety. Sleep disruption from water vs too much heat/yang energy from fire. Also the water to be added would subtle and not actual flowing water or a mirror.

    Thanks so much for your video. Quite a bit to learn and this was useful.
    Could you please provide some guidance re: the command position in the following situation -
    Enter through a door with the ensuite bathroom first (on the right) then a short distance before entering the bedroom space.
    This means anywhere you place the bed you will not be able to see the door. It is similar to floorplan # 2 except with he door being all the way to the end (before you pass the ensuite bathroom) - you had made mention of this in the video.
    Should I put a mirror in the room to reflect the door?
    This would be the first time I am in a bedroom where I cannot see the door and am quite concerned.
    The only other option would be to place the bed against a window, or against a wall that would have my head facing the door, albeit from a distance.
    I would really appreciate your help - thanks alot!

      A mirror is the way we would correct this. So yes you can place a mirror so that you can see the door. I like to try to integrate the mirror into a design if possible. I would choose the best spot that you feel comfortable in and then adjust with the mirror :)

    Nice if the home or apartment has somewhat of a conventional layout. However in age of tiny apartments and tiny homes it's really difficult to determine what is and is not feng shui. There's sofa beds, Murphy beds, elevator beds etc. You've pretty much gotta get it in where it fits.

      Where was your bed positioning before you changed it? It is very hard for me to get a visual on these things without a floorplan. I would say number # 1 avoid head on the toilet wall, #2 avoid head on stove wall If you can choose the wall that doesn't have either of those things that is best. Being in command is important but not if you have to place your bed in #1 or #2.

    Do you have one for an odd shaped room? My room isn’t a prefect square all around, so if I were to move my bed to the longest wall it would be opposite my bedroom door & because of a wall that sticks out it would prevent me from having the space I have now to move around.

      Whoever sleeps best should be the closest to the door if possible and hang a feng shui crystal halfway between the door and the edge of the bed. You can also do a few other design elements to redirect the chi and slow it down. Join my Facebook group I have lots of free info and discussion there facebook.com/groups/yourfengshuijourney/

    What if the best place for the bed is right near the door? If I put bed against the other wall 1 it’s North direction 2 neighbour shared wall & walls are thin. I don’t like my bed against window & heater is below window & its nw direction. It’s a ridiculous layout.

    Hi great information. I'm moving into a bungalow and my bedroom is next to the bathroom. I have space to put my bed against the opposite wall and not against the dividing wall of the bathroom however the room is very small. Is there any issues with having a bedroom next to a bathroom? If so what can I do to help the energy. Thanks.

      I would hang it in the middle of the room. I would also do a big clean up and follow the tips in my bedroom for sleep blog post. Clean under the bed at the beginning, then leave it. Bring in the chi of abundance and children to your room. I like the symbolism of pomegranates. Hi,
    What if you have a closet on one side of the bedroom, window on the other side,and door is on the opposite side of the window with would be the command position if you place the bed on the window side. Where can you place the bed in such a room? What would you do if in front of the window is your command position and there is no other place to put the bed!
    Thank you

      You could place the bed under the window if that is really the only place to put it. You should hang a feng shui crystal from the ceiling (in the centre) and add a solid headboard and good window treatments. Hi Jossie, it is difficult for me to get a sense of your exact bedroom situation. I wouldn't;t block any windows with wood but you could place your bed under a window if the bed fits under it. I would make sure you had a good headboard and window coverings. If your head shares a wall with the kitchen but there is no stove or toilet on the other of it you should be ok. There's a Window in the west side. and bathroom in the East side. The only solid wall is the South wall. I am having a really hard time placing their beds. 1 way i'm thinking is that their feet face each other. so not sure if thats good feng shui, next option is that their head is on the south and feet facing the north. Can you please let me know if that is good feng shui or not. if not what other options do i have ? north has closet and east has bathroom. Please help me.

    Hello Laura, thank you so much for this video it is very helpful! I have a question- I am moving in to a new apt and my bedroom will be very similar to your 1st diagram, except the sink is inside the bedroom (the bathroom is consist of a shower and toilet) which is right across from the walk-In closet. I can send you the floorplan if you'd like. I see your suggestion of hanging a clear crystal in the space between the bedroom and bathroom but is there a cure for the sink being in the bedroom separately? Please advise and thanks for your time.

    • @morrisfengshui
      @morrisfengshui  6 років тому

      Hmmm. A sink in a bedroom - well it is better than a toilet :) I would add the wood element into the bedroom. The wood will energetically 'drink' the excess water. The colour green is a good way to add wood, or having a plant between you and the sink or near the sink (do not worry about having plants in the bedroom - it is fine). And yes, also hanging a feng shui crystal between the bed and the sink to redirect energy.

      Morris Feng Shui thank you for your response! This is very helpful. Also, can you please help me with a couple more questions? 1) since the en suite bathroom is across from the walkin closet, should I hang a small mirror outside there bathroom door? Basically to the side of the bedroom is the closed off toilet and shower and across from that is the walkin closet. Between those 2 is a sink and big mirror.
      Q#2) I will be sharing my bedroom with my 16 month old toddler. Is it best to have a nightstand then her crib, then another night stand between my bed and hers? Thanks again in advance!

    • @Little2Linda
      @Little2Linda 6 років тому

      And related to question 2- originally I was going to just place her crib along one side of the wall by the window then have my bed next to her. Will that be ok, or is the multiple nightstands better?

    I have a bedroom that has mirrored doors on the closet. The closet is backed to the bathroom. Thats the west wall it also has the bedroom door on the west wall.I put sheets up over the closest mirror doors. The North wall is an outside wall. That's the only place to put my bed. The east wall has a window on it and the South wall has the kitchen on the other side.
    Right now my bed is under the window. I like it there because it looks good but then my feet face the door and the closet.
    I'm going to move it to the north wall. My concern is I'll be facing in bed the mirror closet doors and my feet facing south towards the kitchen sink and stove on the other side.

    • @morrisfengshui
      @morrisfengshui  6 років тому +1

      I am a visual person so it is hard to work without a drawing but I would say this. Start with command if you can without placing your head on a wall with a toilet or stove. If your feet line up with the door and you are close to the door hang a feng shui crystal between the bed and the door. (www.morrisfengshui.com/blog/feng-shui-crystal ) If you like where your bed is now and it is in command (you can see the door) I would leave it and just make sure you have a good headboard and blackout blinds on the window above you.

    Hello! This was a great video, very clear. I have a very challenging bedroom design and have not for the life of me found sufficient advice for my situation and was hoping you might comment?
    I seem to have a small cleaver design also. a very small entranceway with the door. the wall in the path of the main door has both bathroom and kitchen on the other side. the adjacent wall right next to main door is solid/quiet but has the closet door. Then the command position/diagnol corner has almost corner windows! and that corner is closest to a fairly heavily trafficked highway! There is a window or door on every wall.
    Option 1) the wall opposite the main door faces the street and has two large windows in the center and if I put my bed on this window it would be in command, but in line with the bathroom door as well as under the window.
    Option 2) If I put it on the adjacent wall (parallel to kitchen wall) it also faces the street, there is also windows in the middle of this wall, and I would be in line with the closet door.
    Option 3) I put my bed angled in the corner directly diagnol to the main door, closest corner to the highway but true command position with less windows. I have seen conflicting advice about putting the bed diagnolly in the corner. Some says no put it directly,flatly on a wall, even if it has to be a window, and some says no a corner is better then a window. Also it seems like if I put the bed diagnolly My bed is in the path of both bathroom door and closet door
    Option 4)bed directly on the solid quiet wall, on one side of the bed is the pathway from the main door, on the other side of the bed is the pathway of the closet door. There is about 2 feet depth entrance though so the main door is not literally next to the bed. it is recessed about 2 feet.
    When I first moved in here I had it seemingly on the worst wall, in direct line of the main door(i thought as long as your feet didn't face the door it was ok), and that wall also shares the kitchen and bathroom, it is also directly under an a/c vent. I was sleeping ok but have been having a lot of trouble breathing and have been very depressed and unwell. There is one other room but it is very small and still would have some issue.
    Please help?

    • @morrisfengshui
      @morrisfengshui  7 років тому +1

      I am going to do my best on this as I am visual person and I usually like to work from floor plans. In cases like these you need to pick the least worst scenario. I think, and correct if I am wrong, the quiet wall (which is not in the command position) has nothing behind it but it shares a wall with a closet. The diagonal position sounds like it may not work because of windows, but I'm not clear on that. Here is what i would recommend (again I hope I got everything above). 1) put our head on the the quiet wall and hang a mirror opposite the door so you can see the door when you are lying in bed. In your case i would say a mirror is necessary as it will help you see what's coming (you can try this position without a mirror first). 2) In the corner position diagonally facing the door but I would place a plant in the spot behind your head to fill the emptiness. Yes a plant. Plants are fine in the bedroom especially if you pick the right one. I have a blog post on that. I think scenario one is better though, I would also hang a Feng Shui crystal in the centre of the room from the ceiling for either scenario. Overall a solid head board, supportive colours and low clutter will help to overcome weird layouts. If you create a bedroom you love that when you walk into makes you feel happy that is very powerful.

    • @deprogramtheprogramp4797
      @deprogramtheprogramp4797 7 років тому

      Mrs. Morris thank you so much for your response:)
      Yes the plant thing was a bummer and confusing as well, very conflicting advice on that online.
      The quiet wall has the closet door and the main entrance door on the same wall. The only foot note is the main door is recessed about 2 ft in like a door alcove(I guess like the handle of the cleaver like in your example here) whereas the closet door is flush on the wall.
      On the quiet wall it felt pretty comforting *But* I cant see the doorway at all(which you did kindly address) and I had like full view of the highway traffic whereas in other positions the highway view was more obscured. In a scenario like this it would be ok to put a mirror directly in line with the doorway?
      I did seem to gloss over one of the options which I think might be a command position, on one wall (with bed below the window) it would face the highway(highway is above btw) but there is 1 house inbetween. Also on this wall I think I would only be in line with the closet door. Would it still be preferable to place on the quiet wall instead of this?
      I tried diagonal but it was too weird, not comforting/ the most wasteful of space.
      thanks again for your responses, I hope you have a great weekend!

      does the recessed doorway not count as being on the same wall as the closet door/quiet wall?

    • @morrisfengshui
      @morrisfengshui  7 років тому

      No it doesn't count. Get yourself some good blinds or window treatments to buffer the highway view and try the mirror facing the door (this is a BTB Feng Shui correction to 'put' yourself in the command position), if you find it too distracting then remove it but try with the intention of having control over you space and seeing what coming your way.

      If you are suffering from sleep issues. I recommend removing mirrors especially ones you can see when you are lying in bed. Reasons are both Feng Shui, too much of the water element (flowing and movement) and practical: while in a sleep state the reflection of you triggers a response that can startle you. And you may not even notice it :)

      It is all about the flow of chi and feeling secure and in control of your surroundings.Many of these situations may make no different if you chi is strong and you have boosted the energy in your home overall, but if you are feeling low and not at your best, bed position is a good place to start. No mirrors is only if you have issues with sleep - they add movement to the room. if you sleep well keep the mirror.

In both rooms I can place the bed in commanding position. In room 1, when laying down, her head is pointing to the East South East, and has a Slanted ceiling over her. The best directions is from the compass school of feng shui. The feng shui I practice does not look at the cardinal directions but instead would find the best placement for the bed and bedroom based on the energy and flow of chi. Being in command is important - so she can see the door of her room when she is lying in bed. hi! I have the exact positioning where you have multiple doors and a big window except I just have the bedroom door (it is set back a little more but in the same spot) and closet door (no ensuite) where the ensuite door is in that diagram... and on the right wall I have two large windows. I used to have my bed against the "quiet wall" in this diagram, which is connected to my roommates room and felt I wasn't sleeping that soundly so I moved it to the opposite wall, but since moving it there (over a month ago) I have not slept completely through the night at all. I just bought a new mattress hoping this would help but my closet door can't fully open because of the placement and idk if this space is too confining?? maybe I'm feeling too trapped
    I also have a vanity in my room that I made that is in front of one of my windows.. any help/advice would be greatly appreciated because I'm considering moving it back to the "quiet wall"

      What is on the other side of the wall you are on now? How low down does the window come? could you place the bed under the window? I know that sounds might crazy but it might make you feel less confined. You would need a solid headboard and black out blinds.I would also hang a Feng Shui crystal in the centre of the room.

      Thank you for getting back to me! So funny that you said this... I moved it under my window last night to try it out for a night and slept better overall (but had weird, slightly scary/invasive dreams). I love the overall placement, I have a solid headboard and I have blackout blinds... headboard is bigger than the window so only part of the bed is against the window, it goes pretty low. the closet is directly in front of the foot of my bed and has a normal door that open towards the bed... I ordered 2 feng shui crystals yesterday and was thinking I could put one between the closet and the foot of my bed and hang one from the top of the window? what do you think?

    Hello Morris :) I have 3 issues and I do not know which is most important... The only thing for sure is that the bed/headboard are perfectly fine but I can't seem to get proper rest/safety ever. Can you help? 1.My bedroom is in the further "out" room of my whole appartment (the appartment is L-shaped) . 2.The wall behind it is pointing towards the neighbour's Kitchen! It's exactly like in your design, minute 7:30. So, does the thing with the Kitchen apply also if the Kitchen is that of the neighbour's? 3. My Kua number is 8, which means I should definetely avoid sleeping with the head pointing SE. Βut, if I put the bed in command position, my head points towards SE. All other positions are worst (the bed right in front of the door etc). The only thing I can actually do is make another room as my bedroom, always pointing towards SE, but then the room will not be in the "outer" place of the appartment, and not on the wall of the neighbour's Kitchen! What is your opinion? Thank you!

    In the last bedroom my bathroom is on the left wall, a closet is on the top left corner, kitchen is on the bottom, a window is directly opposite the door and the door is down a hall way. In the hallway is the bathroom door with a closet offset to the left opposite the bathroom door....please help. My bed fits wall to wall the long way between the bathroom wall and a radiator .... what do i do for the bed?

    Hi I have a complicated bedroom layout and it seems as no one has tackled this bedlayout. I was wondering if you could help me. When you walk into the room hou are facing north. The room shape is a rectangle. Infront of the main room door there are sliding door to go outside to a private patio and a window on each side of door. On the left wall of the main door is the closet entrance and on te wall he mounted his pc and tv. The right wall is connected to the toilet. And on the wall same as the main door is nothiing. We cant move the tv :(. Idk where to place the bed and i feel the headaches of being connected to the toilet wall. Please any advice

      Hi Lucy. I'm going to try here :) I am a visual person and I will do my best without a floorpan. I think you should hang a crystal either in the centre of the ceiling or between the bed and the outside doors. You should also try to get your bed in the command position - so you can see the main door. Is your head of the bed on a wall with toilet on the other side?

      Morris Feng Shui thank you for replying. Well the command position is the north wall, but that wall is covered with windows because we have a sliding door there and a window on each side. So the wall that the headboard is touching is sharing it with the toilet and 2 sinks :( and there is a giant window like opening at the top. I was thinking to put a giant dream catcher there hanging. Do you think that will kinda help. ?

    Hi.I have a small bedroom. Out of my 4 bedroom walls , the entry door n bathroom door are on east wall one beside the other ( more towards north). Closet n a small window cover the entire west wall(window towards north) . South wall has a big window which is not central( more towards east wall). The only plain wall i have is the north wall but the bed would come in the entry way to the room n more over if i lie on the bed the bathroom ll be the first thing visible . Help me arrange my furniture plz. I have a dresser , a baby cot , 2 almarahs n 2 sidetables too in my room.. plz help me turn it into my dream bedroom.

    how can you calm the fire element with water? rather with earth element...

      Yes earth element would be another way to drain/tire out the energy of fire. When you have a stove sharing or close to the bedroom I like to use water to put it out (also there is a stronger cure needed if the head of the bed has a stove directly on the other side).
