ABOUT THIS SHOW
The black piranha (Serrasalmus niger) is a freshwater fish found in South America. It is known for its sharp teeth and powerful bite, which can deliver a force of up to 320 newtons (71.7 lbf). This is equivalent to the bite force of a large dog, and is much greater than the bite force of the Tyrannosaurus rex, which is estimated to be around 120 newtons (27 lbf).
When the bite force is measured relative to body weight, the black piranha is even more impressive. The black piranha has a bite force of 320 newtons per kilogram (71.7 lbf per lb), while the T-rex has a bite force of 120 newtons per kilogram (27 lbf per lb). This means that the black piranha has a bite force that is 2.6 times greater than the T-rex's bite force, when measured relative to body weight.
The black piranha's powerful bite is used to catch and kill prey, such as fish, frogs, and small mammals. The fish's teeth are also used to defend itself from predators. The black piranha is a popular aquarium fish, but it can be aggressive and should only be kept by experienced aquarists.

I'm glad you're still making these real or fake videos even though not many people watch them anymore
But this video is complete bullcrap because T. rex has a bite force of over 35k nuttons
Hey Bill I've been watching you for 4 years and I am proud for your hard work and appreciation for us. The Amazon rain forest job is really interesting!
Give bill more likes
hello bill im back from 2015 to 2023 i have been gone for a while so its good to watch you again :)
Im so shock I thought it be fake .... And thinking how can a fish bite stronger than t-rex ... If it can't even compare to snapping turtle.. 😅😅😅 I really didn't expect the result...
Pirrahna bite say it with me so fak its not funny😂😅🤣
Who eavean came up with such thing lol
Short answer: HELL NO!
Bill, first of all, I love your videos. Though I do have to point out that a camen is a camen and an alligator is an alligator. You wouldn't call a crocodile an alligator, you'd call it a crocodile. Rant over. Keep up the awesome work Bill!
Thanks for pointing that out... but actually Caimans are part of the American Alligator family so the reference is ok. I said it's an alligator that they call Caiman here in the Amazon! You can look it up if you don 't believe me.
@@billschannel I thought I could outsmart you Bill, but thanks for the fun fact. I never knew that. Have a great day!
Honestly, to use bite force/body weight ratio to say who is stronger is quite unfair to the large animals. The small animals like insects and snail can easily beat all of the animals who are more than 10 kg weight in strength by this way. When the animals' body length double, their weight will increase to the cube of 2 which is 8 times but their force can only increase by square of 2 that is 4 times, approximately. So the bigger animal is, the force/weight ratio usually drops. That is why ant can easily move the stuff many times of their body weight but if they are scaled to the elephant size, their exoskeleton can't even support themself and it will be crushed by own body weight in short time.
i was thinkin that theres no way trex doesnt win unless some by weight caveat bs. all in all pretty much any trex could bite me in half and no piranha can
DINOSAUR + PIRANHA = PIRANOSAURUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the tyrannosaurus was larger so either way the tyrannosaurus wins this
Hey Bill you should do fnaf movie trailers reaction
Hopefully soon.
I've sent you it if you seen it
Well, it's still *relative to bodyweight*. So the T-Rex still has the stronger bite force. If the piranha were to be larger, then maybe.
Okay now im mad with the scientists
How can a dinosaur that is built for destroying tanks can have a weaker bite force then a small fish that is a illitrerlal coward to human they are scavengers not hunters
Good vid

Hey Bill, I know this seems off-topic to this video, but quick question: What happened to the Chewy Piranhas?
They disbanded years ago.
@billschannel Oh ☹️ I really hoped that at least a few people was keeping the group alive to this day...
Given the fact the t rex was much bigger than the pirahna im gonna say the bite strength of the pirahna probly nowhere near the bite strength of the t rex ! Fake! I was wrong lol thats crazy!
Based guess, since we know transmissions are large prey like triceratops and edmontosaurus they would have to have a bite force capable of shattering bone with relative ease.
@@Snixxle agreed 🙂
Those mad lads swimming in that river
You mad lad living on this plannet!

The giant lego man terrified me when I was little idk why 😂
Bill, I’m so glad I found this channel again! I used to always watch your videos when I was a kid, and I remembered your channel and decided to visit! What great memories this brought back to me, thank you Bill, and it’s nice to see you still uploading after all these years!
Caimen are not alligators.
It was just a way to give the little ones a frame of reference. Thanks for the correction.
Caimans belong to the same family as the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis); they're more distantly related to crocodiles, which belong to a separate family under the order Crocodylia.
@@billschannel that's fair. I'm just passionate about herps. I get a little overzealous. Lol sorry.
REALL
Love your video Bill
Wow, That's true Thanks for video Bill
Bro the last time i watched you was fnaf
How do you know what the bite force of a T-Rex is when the T-Rex is extinct and the black piranha is not
When muscles attach to bone they leave imprints. A trex skeleton can tell you all the muscle placement and therefore torque that its bite could generate thanks to the muscle leverage. He means in ratio, a Trex cannot bite with more than 35x its body weight but a black piranha can :) it just weighs less total but if the piranha sized up by even a foot more it'd be nuts
You already know this is stupid when they can't spell T. Rex correctly
You really can't accept that
FFFFAAAAKKKKEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
*My life have been a lie!*
When I get older I'll probably be a teacher I'm 18 rn and your videos will be playing during lunchtime in a special ed class like I went to 🤙 I will always love your channel
Piraias are really scary fishes what's biting power is really powerful so I believe it's possible there is black piraias what's biting power is more powerful than T-Rex was. Piraias are one of most dangerous animals in rivers like Amazon river, they can kill much humans what's scary. I've seen red piraias in aquarium and I'll think no one dosen't wan't swim with these guys. Oh by the way Hello Bill and others happy weekend for everyone. Amazon is dangerous BUT really important and beautiful place the heart of earth. 🌎🏝🌊🐊🐍🐟🐒🐆🦜🦎

i am 100 view
Definitely UNKNOWN because nobody has actually tested the biting forces of T-rex. You can get the bite force from a 20th century boy, but not from a ............... just what century were dinosaurs from?

How can anyone know the bite force of a t-rex since NONE EXISTS? It's all guesses, right?
They can make estimates based on skull size

Hmm really? Can you let me know when the T-rex bite was measured? Just for a friend that is asking me.
That was 220miljoen years ago
Palaeontologists can estimate the bite force of dinosaurs based on their jaw bones and 3D computer models of what their jaw muscles would be capable of.
