As a Nebraska fan, I hadn't seen this level of play at this many positions since the early Solich era, at least.
Granted, it's two games, and I recognize there are many legit tests on the schedule to validate my eyes.

Nebraska Defense looks Legit. Allowed 8.5 PPG, but they are scoring 4.5 PPG. They haven't allowed an opponent to score 18 points in the last 8 or 9 games.

Not sure if you can use last years games in your scoring average…TO margin was crazy last year. Looking at the 2 games played this season, PPG = (40 + 28) / 2 = 34. Defense, most of the players returned and gained another year of training…so defense carry forward makes sense.

If you marry elite QB play with a typically built big ten team in the trenches what you get is a national contender. Michigan did it with JJ and Nebraska has the opportunity to do it with Raiola.
Nebraska seems to understand this well. Just because they have Raiola they arent falling into the trap of letting him throw 35 times a game. They are focused on establishing a run game, playing great defense and then unleashing Raiola when the moment demands it. Very very smart approach.
I dont see us beating Ohio State or winning a big ten championship this year but Raiola is only going to get better as he ages. Hes a legitimate potential number one pick with the advantages of growing up in the NFL and working with the best including Pat Mahomes.
It isnt Andrew Luck at Stanford, a big ten built team is a wild advantage for a young promising QB.
Unlike at a Georgia or Alabama where you have instant win buttons or a lower tier team where the QB has to carry the team, big ten teams are built for future success at the QB position. These guys learn to win close games within the confines of a complimentary football system.

This year is Texas and Ohio State at the top clearly. Texas has a seasoned team with a legitimate QB. Just under them you have Michigan, USC and Nebraska. The thing about Nebraska is they have a difference maker at QB. Raiola's sophmore and junior year are going to see Nebraska take that step into top contender for the conference. Thats the way I see it.

I actually haven't watched an Indiana game all year but they were projected to be the very bottom of the big 10
