Jesse Gutierrez RGV Sports Hall of Fame

Gutierrez played baseball for James “Nikki” Rowe High in McAllen and the University of Texas-Pan American before being drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 2001. As a Bronc, Gutierrez hit 21 home runs and was named an NCAA All-American. He later transferred to St. Mary’s University, helping the Rattlers to their first NCAA Division II national title in 2001. Gutierrez played for the Broncos de Reynosa where managed to hit over 300 as a member of the Broncos.
