Traveling can be cheap or expensive as you want it to be an example is you taxi it everywhere yes its cheap compared to England but you could bus it to Jontiem and save yourself 1k bht .

Jay, this is a good message. Get yourself a condo in Jomtien, retirement visa (get an agent to do this for you) and just go back to Bangkok airport to travel local, vietnam, loas etc!! I’m doing the same early in November and we can meet up for a beer. Mike
Go and see an immigration consultant, see what your options are. Then go from there mate. If you decide to settle there then it’s probably cheaper to do a long term rental.
If I were you, I would travel to Vietnam. If you don’t like it there, you can continue on to the Philippines. If you’ve never been there, I can also recommend Australia and New Zealand, especially if you need to spend six months traveling before settling down in Thailand long-term. This way, you can also consider whether and how you want to settle down; perhaps Vietnam or the Philippines could be a great option for you as well. All the best for you mate 🙂
Hi Jay , Here's an option , see an agent first and see what they can do for you regarding Visa , stay a year in Jomtien , travel once a month for a long weekend in different parts of Thailand , and then you can decide on year 2 , that takes away all the pressure your putting on yourself ? you'll be staying in a place you like already and you'll get to see where else you may like . just a thought. good luck
Hi Jay hope you are well. If you’re staying in Thailand you need to speak with visa agent straight away, to get yourself an extension. Like I have said before on some of the other comments I have put on some of your other vlogs, coming up to my 6th week here. I have opened a bank account, am 4 weeks into my 12 month condo rental, and starting to have Thai lessons starting tomorrow, I live literally 5 minutes from Rom Pho market, if you want to catch up for a coffee a beer or a chat just let me know. Chris 49 from England. Should be getting my retirement visa in January next year.

hi jay talk to a visa agent there are hundreds in pattaya, they will help you decide when you know more facts and details, i have used tik tok before but ask people who are there who they use, a retirement visa through an agent is probably your best option get a multi entry then you can travel in and out of thailand keep your options open, thanks for sharing,
You are almost back to where you began your Thai journey. That six months charged by. The one time you put an anchor down was not far from where you are now in the condo. An influence took you away from that. Are you willing to drop anchor again now? It's a tough decision Jay. Wishing you well

Jay why don’t you come to beautiful Pokhara, lakeside town here in Nepal. It is breathtaking and cheaper than Thailand. You can rent an apartment for around $300 Australian a month and people are kind and lovely and just the most chill out place ever. So cheap to eat and so relaxing. Check it out.

@jay.b. lovely hotel, i actually stayed there for 3 weeks when I entered Thailand under the Phuket Sandbox scheme in October 2021 - It's right on Kalim Beach, about a 20 minute walk to Bangla Road - I've spent time all over Phuket & for me the nicest area is over in Rawai - I rented a private pool villa for a month & spent my 50th birthday there in 2017 - Great memories.
Good morning Jay from a wet UK lol firstly don’t let the keyboard warriors get you down. I can see you’re more happy in the area. Why don’t you just go on a quick week or 2 to Laos or Vietnam? Cambodia to see how you get on? Come back into Thailand and then get another 60 days and then you can extend another 30 no problem with that and then go from there good luck I will be there in November maybe I’ll see you for a beer happy travels keep smiling. Don’t give up. 👍😎🇹🇭
Hi Jay! First, I want to tell you, as a visa agent for 11 years, that there is no 180 days or 6 months a year limit rule for tourists in Thailand. If someone tells you that, you are misinformed. For example, the Thai Embassy in London, who says you can only do 2 visa runs a year, is wrong. They have been wrong on many occasions before. They are not the immigration. What you can do now, if you haven`t extended your 60 days visa exemption by 30 more days already, do that first. You will be granted those, 100% sure. If your extension is finished though, go to a visa company in Pattaya, which do border runs. I guarantee you they will give you another 60 days at the border, same day trip back and forth, 60 days which you can extend with another 30 days. The 2 times limit per year at land borders, is now scrapped, they did that at the same time as the new 60 days visa exemption was introduced for 93 countries. You will be fine! After that, I will advice you to contact a visa agent, who will help you with a Non Imm. O 90 days visa, based on retirement (you must be 50 years old). No money in bank needed. Then you can extend that with as many 12 months permits to stay, as you want. But they need around 21 days to get you that first visa, so you need to extend your current stay anyway with a border run, so they have time to do that, before your last 21 days. Good luck!
@@jay.b. My pleasure, Sir. Get in contact with a visa agent in Pattaya, they have solutions for you. But you may also do all this by yourself. If so, you must reenter on a visa exemption, and need to open a bank account in Thailand if you don`t have one (agents help you with that too), and transfer 800k baht into it from abroad. It must be there on the day of application of your next visa. Then you will get your 90 days Non Imm O visa yourself, and can extend that by 12 months every year. That is unlimited. Your choice, Sir 😊😊
@@tommointhailand Okey, I was afraid of that. Thanks for clearifying that. Then I would do the border run first, since he is running out of time, then talk with an agent, who will help him with other solutions instead. ED visa sounds like a good option for him until he turns 50.
@CharlesCollins-tx6ih I like meeting new people, and he is a really nice guy . I need new freinds and meet as many people as possible. Thank you so much 🇹🇭😊🙏
Jomtiem is a great place to stay and it's just a 15 minute baht bus into Pattaya. Why don't you just buy a one year retirement visa - easy and it's cheap (no 800,000 baht bull-shit).
@@jay.b. I will message when I am there and settled in mate. I’ll be staying in Pattaya we’re it’s cheaper and has a lovely beach 🏝️ I’ll be there January I will message u
If you've got plenty of money, as you say, why not travel? Just keep to a sensible budget. Or get a retirement visa. If you really do have plenty of money you have lots of options.
Jay go to soi post office in Pattaya I think it's 13/1 there's a visa company called Maneerat visa she will sort a visa out for you , get your visa then rent a place and think about it.
What did you do in your free time in the UK, simply copy that and then some given the better weather. Avoid the tourist traps else your savings will be gone in no time. Slow and Steady, Relax.....
Indonesia is cheap(as long as you avoid Bali!) I lived there on and off for nearly 20 years, and even got married there. But, it’s not as easy as most other SE Asian countries. Road travel is difficult, and their safety record with internal airlines is poor. Many people overlook it, purely because it’s the world’s biggest Muslim country, but I never had a problem there. One thing’s for sure, if you like busy, you’ll love it there!
@@jay.b. Cambodia's beach resort of Sihanoukville used to be my favourite place in S.E. Asia up until about 7-8 years ago, when the Chinese bought up all the beachfront and built high-rise hotels, interspersed with casinos every 200 meters. It's now 2-3 times the cost and a total mess.
@manosparavida3551 I have heard this . Some countries in Asia are changing a lot . I started watching UA-cam videos in 2021 and now some places are completely different. Thank you so much 🇹🇭😊🙏
@@jay.b. A friend of mine introduced me to UA-cam after I returned from Pattaya for my 2nd visit in May 2008. He had his laptop or PC set up and asked me where I'd just been? So I answered Pattaya , which tapped into the UA-cam search and low and behold a video came up of the Songkrahn festival of 3 or so weeks beforehand, in which I appeared! It was filmed by a bystander in New Plaza for about 4-5 minutes. I've searched for it since and can no longer find it, which is a shame. Imagine the odds of going on UA-cam for the first time and seeing yourself on the first video you choose to watch?😆
@andrewchalmers2888 No, it would not . I was thinking that because I am in thailand doesn't mean I need to earn money in thailand. I guess you can do something online . I have time to look and decide. Thank you 🇹🇭😊🙏
I think you really need to spend some time around Southeast Asia to make comparisons. Especially Vietnam, Malaysia, and Cambodia - there is a lot more to Southeast Asia than Thailand. You are unlikely to change who you are in your 50s, but Southeast Asia makes what you like to do easier and cheaper and gives you other opportunities. The quicker you get out of short-term mode and into extended stay mode with three months in each location, the more you will learn about yourself and whether being an expat is really what it's cracked up to be - it takes a change in mindset. If you don't spend a year as an expat and go back to the UK, you will always be restless, wondering 'what if...'. Try to stay away from tourists - that is not what you are now. P.S. Stay away from the Philippines until you are more experienced. I spent 10 years there, and in my humble opinion, it's not for the newbie expat.
Go and see a visa agent in Pattaya and work out your options rent a long term apartment in Pattaya somewhere Do not stay long term with any woman there as they will just drain your money continuously traveling around is aggravation and hassle and not cheap
Jay, you could travel, because if you don't like it you can always go back to Thailand. On the other hand if you stay, you might always be wondering - what if? Having said that, if you're happy in Pattaya, and especially if you have some mobility issues, why not stay there? You could see Muay Thai as a way to overcome health challenges and get you in fighting trim, mobility issues allowing (perhaps address those first before doing anything), whereas with dyslexia, studying Thai might be even more painful, and less useful in the long run! Good luck with whatever you decide..
Oooo ok I didn't know about this lol 😁😁 thank you for telling me . This is really important to me . I do try and message everyone. You guys are making a lot of effort for me . Thank you 😁😁😁🇹🇭😊🙏

You're overthinking on a colossal level to say the least. Where you got that "6 months" reference visas etc from I have no idea.....unless you were referring to the almost certain taxation issue for those staying more than 180 day annually
@@jay.b. Yeah try and relax......one of the issues I learnt literally decades ago (and especially in Pattaya area) is if things are going awry just go to complete new bar areas (as an example) where you're not known. Over 34 years since that 1st trip I can still play the "1st trip routine" with Girls in the bar with great hilarity....and then speak in fluent Thai to them after half hour lol
Jay I hope you are doing this if you got about 300 thousand pounds if your getting interest on it you should be getting about 15 thousand pound a year in interest mate

Good luck!
Thank you very much for your message and help . I am grateful and really appreciate this from you . Thank you, thank you, thank you so much 😊🇹🇭🙏
@sarlina1 Jay cannot apply for a 90 day Non 0 Visa or subsequent extensions as he's only 48 years old
@@tommointhailand Okey, I was afraid of that. Thanks for clearifying that. Then I would do the border run first, since he is running out of time, then talk with an agent, who will help him with other solutions instead. ED visa sounds like a good option for him until he turns 50.
Stay mate,Don't beat yourself up Jay. Enjoy every minute of your new life my friend. Stay in Pattaya.
@tonyinthailand3399 thank you so much . 😊🇹🇭🙏
Don't get mixed up with that two bit Ozzie guy..
Stay on your own Jay.
Apart from an odd floozy or three
@CharlesCollins-tx6ih I like meeting new people, and he is a really nice guy . I need new freinds and meet as many people as possible. Thank you so much 🇹🇭😊🙏
Who is the Aussie guy, another UA-cam guy? I think I recall him from somewhere 🤔
@manosparavida3551 yes he is a youtuber CALLED... GONEADRIFT. 🇹🇭😊🙏
@@manosparavida3551 he has messaged me on my last video . Lovely guy to meet . 🇹🇭😊🙏
@@jay.b. goneadrift that's where I know of him.
Thanks for the heads up Jay👏
Get a 30 day extension....then visa run with agent,,,that gets you another 60 days......Thers a good agent next to jomtien bus station
You can only do 2 border runs and only 2 imagination office per year . I am at the end of my 6 months in thailand on travel visa 😊🇹🇭🙏
Jomtiem is a great place to stay and it's just a 15 minute baht bus into Pattaya.
Why don't you just buy a one year retirement visa - easy and it's cheap (no 800,000 baht bull-shit).
@AndrewpeterkilleyAndrewKilley I am 50 years old next year In October. Good advice and thank you 🇹🇭😊🙏
Legend mate I’m coming in January to do the same as u in living In Thailand I ain’t going back.
I wish you the best of luck . Hopefully we could meet . Thank you 😊🇹🇭🙏
No I do not have a lot of money but I can travel. Thank you 🇹🇭🙏😊
Hi Jay. Do you have property back I. The UK to go to if things don’t work out?. Assume you’ve got a safety net 😊
@MarkDoe-lg1kp I sold everything but I have a plan if I have to go back . That's my challenge not going back to the uk . 4hank you 😊🇹🇭🙏
Jay just a quick question what do you do all day and night mate
At the moment I do eat out and sometimes have a beer or 2 . Sometimes I like sitting on the beach . Just relaxing right now
Cheers have a beer for me
There's a bar near you called the seagull bar it's a brighton based pub
@nickhayman468 ok thank you nick 🇹🇭🙏😊
@nickhayman468 ooo ok thank you .i might have a look thank you 🇹🇭🙏😊
Jay go to soi post office in Pattaya I think it's 13/1 there's a visa company called Maneerat visa she will sort a visa out for you , get your visa then rent a place and think about it.
@@davidthailand2159 I will save your message. This really helps me thank you so much 🇹🇭😊🙏
Thank you . I had a look on Google maps and I have found the visa office you have recommended for me . Thank you so much 🇹🇭😊🙏
Did you sort out visa jau
Jay
What did you do in your free time in the UK, simply copy that and then some given the better weather. Avoid the tourist traps else your savings will be gone in no time. Slow and Steady, Relax.....
I didn't do a lot . I was working 6 days a week 10 hours a day . Then had my son staying at the weekends .
Ok thank you so much for your advice 🇹🇭😊🙏
Can you get a retirement visa?????
Not yet because I am 50 October 2025
Vietnam is cheaper than Thailand Jay, go there for a few months it’s fantastic
I was thinking about Vietnam. Thank you 😊🇹🇭🙏
Thai lottery, 1st and 16th of each month. Good Luck.
Ooo ok thank very much 😊🇹🇭🙏
Jay have you been to the Philippines? Why not travel to there for a few months?
As long as he avoids Manila's less desirable areas.
@alisonparsons8423 no I haven't been to the Philippines or other Asian countries yet
Jay would your finances last you 20 or 30 years
@andrewchalmers2888 No, it would not . I was thinking that because I am in thailand doesn't mean I need to earn money in thailand. I guess you can do something online . I have time to look and decide. Thank you 🇹🇭😊🙏
Jay that's good thinking about something online because if you have a pretty basic life there you will be surprised how long you can keep going for.
@andrewchalmers2888 exactly . I have thought about everything before I decide to come to thailand but I know I have plenty of time 🇹🇭😊🙏
Sounds like you’ve already made your mind up. Maybe a visa agent can help?
Thank you so much 🇹🇭😊🙏
I think you really need to spend some time around Southeast Asia to make comparisons.
Ok thank you very much 🇹🇭🙏😊
Take your time dont beat yourself up ...
Chill in pattaya for a few months then decide ..🎉
@@paul-rs5bj yes thank you 🇹🇭😊🙏
The guy in the start pal 😂
Go and see a visa agent in Pattaya and work out your options
rent a long term apartment in Pattaya somewhere
Do not stay long term with any woman there as they will just drain your money
continuously traveling around is aggravation and hassle and not cheap
@@adriver4471 thank you so much 😊🇹🇭🙏
Jay, you could travel, because if you don't like it you can always go back to Thailand.
Thank you very much 😊🇹🇭🙏

You have funds for next 10+ years until pension kicks in?
I am 48 and the pension in the uk is 68 🇹🇭🙏😊
You're overthinking on a colossal level to say the least. Where you got that "6 months" reference visas etc from I have no idea.....unless you were referring to the almost certain taxation issue for those staying more than 180 day annually
Yes I am over thinking to much . I need to relax. I made videos on my extensions . 🇹🇭😊🙏
@colinmears2375 lol love your message. Thank you so much 🇹🇭😊🙏
Then Cambodia and before you know it six months will pass
