- Howard Schultz joined Starbucks in 1982 when there were four stores open in Seattle. Over the following three decades, he created one of the world’s most iconic brands, leading the company’s expansion to 28,000 stores in 78 countries.
In this intimate fireside chat, Conservation International CEO M. Sanjayan talks to Schultz about his childhood in public housing, his socially-minded corporate leadership, his legacy of achieving profitability without sacrificing integrity, and his grand plan for America.

This was a great conversation and massive props to Howard Shultz for taking the courage to go beyond the 'legal' advice and be truthful about the incident in Philly. People need to stop watching the MSM on both sides and look to engage in real, meaningful conversations. This way, you can find commonalities and disagreements, and still walk away respectful of each other. Starbucks gets a bad rap in the public image, but when you dive deep down in what their core values are and mission, you have a better understanding behind the heart of the organization.
We've got to stop this right/left stuff. We NEED courageous people on both sides to walk down the middle, lock arms, and make it through all this together.
Meh Howard has no courage. He hid his face for years after selling the Sonics to Oklahoma.
Wow that story about Bill Gates Sr is so inspiring. Gave me shivers.
i love the way he talk may god bless you sir and your whole family 😌🌻
This has been his best presentation. Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage."
A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him, and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example." Niccolo Machiavelli
Gates is psychopath
What a beautiful and inspiring talk.
1987, he only had 3 espresso bars - not eleven stores?

Love.
Onward brought me here.
SCHULTZ ALSO HAS LONG WANTED TO EMULATE THE WINE BUSINESS. HE IS AUTHENTIC.
This guy is among my leadership inspirations. The way he talks, the way he acts and the way he moves - shows a man of value and vulnerability.
Howard has compassion for the poor. He’s a good CEO. He’s not just after the money, I can tell. God bless you Howard. I love drinking Starbucks coffee here in the Philippines.

What EVERYONE doesn't realize (other than Schultz and co. - who just won't say so); is that if in the general, in a 3-way, after Schultz wins over a whole bunch of centrist independents and rational 'republicans' nauseated by (or scared of) trump for another 4 years; Schultz sees the option that at that point if he realizes/accepts (and he is smart enough to do so) that he can't win the general; he knows that by him THEN dropping out and supporting the 'democrat' in the end will in turn actually end up WINNING votes for whoever the democrat candidate is (hopefully Bernie Sanders). Although he won't agree with many of the final democrat contender's ideas on a lot of things, and will have had by that time much opportunity to say all those things loudly, and in turn win over lots of more right-leaning centrists etc...that him then dropping out and making the strong case with clear distinctions between the democrat contender and orangeman (and the obvious choice there), will actually NOT help re-elect trump - but it will actually help in the opposite direction. All the commas and run-on sentences aside, this isn't chess folks. He's not my choice with a lot of issues, but he's smart and he's decent. Let him go at it. PS....this will also help a bit in opening up the future chances of something this country obviously needs (and the media would hate), a legitimate 3-party system.
Need trees to-have 5-G . 🤔
he should stop stonewalling union negotiations
All of these guys get there money from the same families. Im sure there is a lot more to his story.
The war in Afghanistan will be over soon if we can open a Starbucks in Kabul!!!

SMART PEOPLE IGNORE THE ANTAGONIST. I DON'T LET PEOPLE WITH CRAB MENTALITY PUT ME DOWN. IT'S OBVIOUS, I'M THE SMARTEST AND THE MOST SINCERE. THANK YOU JESUS CHRIST :)
How nice it is that this man Howard Schultz was allowed his God given rights as an American in order to become successful.
Success is more than $.
As a victim of 22 yrs of ongoing Technological Torture in America I take great exception to his making money at my life's expense.
Morally and ethically Mr. Schultz has an obligation. With more money comes more responsibility.
Where has this man been for 22 yrs while his customers use my body as a human target to put their name on a claim? And the two eyes in my head say they spend it at Starbucks.
In Washington they voted $30. per year license tabs. But I estimate they spend at least $6,000. per yr at Starbucks.
Howard who supplie(d)s a tremendous amount of retail franchises must use the roads considerably to his profitable business benefit.
So why didn't Howard Schultz who has been SO successful, tell the WA ST Gov their response "you just won't get your roads paved" after the Tim Eyman initiative was unacceptable?
No wonder you were successful. You partake in the practice of niggaring and I am convinced that is the only way to prosper in America these days.
Who in the hell do you think you are, Jesus Christ, you must have a horrible Tea complexity.
Now. Stop this crime.
P. S. Ask the new CEO from Microsoft how are the customers paying? Fictitious money?
And how much money from license tabs in WA goes towards small business?
