I don't understand why everyone hates this game so much. I've played about 12 hours and I absolutely adore this game. It is stupid how Joel died, but that also gets the player angry and ready for revenge. And to the people who claim that "He has survived gunshots and impalement", that is nothing compared to getting the skull bashed in. You are not going to recover from that no matter how many medkits you use.
Sabian Fernandez the reason that people hate this game is not because of the way Joel died, but rather the events leading up to his death, in the first game he was always on the defense, so for him to be so open to people that he just met, and to openly use his real name without any precaution, made people feel like his death wasn’t right because Joel was acting out of character. Despite this I have also been enjoying the game and want to see the end of the game avenge Joel, but people feel that his death could have been handled better
