Love Pep, but hope he learned a lesson: you need to adapt you tactics for some games like he did last season. Playing his absurdly high line against one of the best counter attacking teams in Europe was beyond silly, especially when doing so has given nearly every team we’ve played solid chances on the counter to concede goals. Remember, last season, Pep played a very conservative flat back 4 at RM and was more aggressive with overlapping FBs and Stones inverting in the 2nd leg. This season, he played an even more aggressive backline in both games than he played in either RM games last season and it cost him. Of the 4 goals RM scored, 3 were on the counter and 3:4 were both down the right side bc Akanji (leg 1) and Walker (leg 2) were playing too high up the up the pitch and got destroyed on the counter attack. Counters down the right have an issue all season yet Pep still played it
