He's not a direct descendant though, Voldemort's granfather is Marvolo Riddle, who is Ominis' older brother. Marvolo is probably also the dude that used Crucio on Ominis when Ominis was a child. So, I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
@@IgnatiaWildsmith1227 Well, some people have a a lower threshold for pain than others, so I figured there's always the risk of the curse doing serious psychological damage even in small doses.
So I guess Slytherin built TWO secret rooms in Hogwarts instead of one. Still a bit bummed that we can't visit the Chamber of Secrets. I mean, the lore states that other Gaunts entered the Chamber of Secrets between Slytherin's construction of it and Voldemort's use of it in 1945. The whole reason it's under a bathroom is because when the plumbing was installed into Hogwarts, a Gaunt ensured it was hidden during the installation process.
we would never have a reason to visit the chamber of secrets considering it’s use was to house the basilisk and it’s main purpose was to rid half bloods from the school and ominis doesn’t agree with the matter of blood purity so it wouldn’t make much sense. I would fucking LOVE to see it tho😫😫😫
Regarding Noctua Gaunt getting trapped and dying due to not having anyone to cast it on, could she not simply cast it on herself? The Cruciatus Curse requires intent, as in you have to deliberately cause pain to the victim. Sebastian was able to cast it successfully, despite having no malicious intent toward the player character, indicating that the will to survive would be sufficient to power the spell. I therefore imagine that the instinct to survive could motivate one to endure however much pain is necessary, therefore Noctua should be able to cast the Cruciatus Curse on herself and therefore escape the trap.
It could have maybe worked because with sebastian it was a small crucio it kinda reminded me of the crucio harry uses on Bellatrix which means sebastian really didn't mean to hurt us but knew he had to in order to escape
The logic is good, but you missed one detail. The curse has to be sustained long enough to open the door, and that requires the caster to stay focused. The kind of pain you experience from Crucio would definitely break your concentration, putting an end to the spell if your casting it on yourself. She could have tried, but it wouldn't last long enough to work

Is Ominis somehow related to Marvolo Gaunt? Since he's Voldemort's grandfather and would have been old enough to go to Hogwarts in the 1890s same as Dumbledore and also maybe Ominis is blind because of the Gaunt's inbreeding.
The blindness definitely has something to do with inbreeding (after all, constant inbreeding tends to bring out highly recessive traits, particularly ones related to health problems; I imagine the blindness was purposely chosen not only because it is an easy way to show the constant inbreeding but also because it easily harkens back to Merope). He is definitely related Marvolo. Considering what the game offers, it is likely that Ominis is meant to be interpreted as a younger sibling of Marvolo (his elder siblings and parents are described as being a LOT like how Marvolo and Morfin are described in the books which is likely purposeful).
Kinda getting the feeling Marvolo is actually Voldy's father given the inbreeding and why his mother was so desperate to live a fantasy about the muggle neighbor boy than to admit her father and brother went to Azkaban for doing unspeakable things to her. Children with Wizard father's tend to have dad's name as a middle name hence Harry James Potter, Draco Lucius Malfoy, Tom Riddle wasn't the real dad just the fantasy that Tom Jr. Mother wished she lived.

I think Hufflepuffs might consider learning dark magic. If they thought it would save and protect a friend. I think a Hufflepuff would learn Crucio by letting Sebastian cast it on them. A Hufflepuff would gladly endure suffering to spare others from having to endure it.
