The first one is absolutely wrong. 😂
For real I don't know where he learned that
@@-----------g- MUMS only tell little white lies
To say 'you can never miss..' is optimistic. It used to be the case that they would escort all the latecomers through the tunnels to make sure they got their train. I can't see them bothering now, what with night tube, all-night buses and the complexities of interacting with other transport providers.
yeah...but I think it means if you're on your way to the train.
So you’ve had a drunk night out on a Wednesday too then? 😩
Im a tube driver and literally every single one is wrong 😂😂
The map? What the fuck is that about
I was wondering this 😂 I thought I missed something... As well as the light I can turn on in my cab, the fact we have to call a PNR in advance for certain stations, we never get radio'd by station staff, that even automatic we operator the doors and the train... What else was there... Oh yeah wildlife... Yes up the front are mythical beings... Not just a fox and squirrels.
Not all
So.... If these are all wrong, how do you go to Toilet?
@@Geno2733 Exactly
@@Geno2733 at a Terminus... So when the train reaches it's destination, we have a minimum of 4 minutes before we go back the other way. That's when we go toilet. If we are going to be longer then we call the controller and ask for a PNR (Personal Need Relief). Oh the very rare occasion something happens on the line, we can call a PNR but it's at very few stations this is available so we are at the mercy of luck.
I love the fact that these facts were probably gleaned from someone in a pub on their fifth pint, claiming to be a tube driver.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 some made up, false, drunken myths
Wrong, I missed it once
You can definitely miss the last train once you’re in the station
No. 2 is hilarious, people don’t use one line over another because its supposedly quicker, they use the line that takes them where they want to go 😂
As a Driver I know the Metropolitan line is the fastest with a line speed of 60mph. We also don't have a different tube map to use than anyone else.
Well, the Metropolitan has the fastest line speed but the one with the fastest journey times is the Victoria. So either way, this video is wrong.
Is it true there are fully automated trains where the driver only intervenes when there is a problem? What do they do the rest of the time?
Also, it sounds like dim lights in the driver's cabin could be true, if for some reason the train stops between stations bright lights would make it harder to adapt to the dark in the tunnels, can you confirm?
@@miguelrodriguezcimino1674 On the automated trains, the drivers still need to operate the doors, it's so easy that when I did apprenticeship there, aged 15, I was allowed to drive a Northern Line train.
The cabin lights are dimmed in the drivers cabin and they have Air Con.
Met line to Watford still feels slow
@@murphy7801that’s because of all the strikes recently
You forgot the one about the trains being powered by the royal corgis
What a load of crap - all cabs have lights, the majority of train ops just dont like having them on whilst driving. Also, its not fully automated, train ops operate the doors and start the train.
Also the drivers can drive in manual whenever they like and they can’t get in trouble unless they do something completely wrong
@@vadosegalaxy1597 Not strictly true, they're only supposed to switch to manual during specified times and locations, for example the Central line allows it on Sundays in open sections.
As someone who has taken the dlr everyday of my life basically your wrong its completely automated they just have a dude on every train now for other reasons, 5 years ago some trains had no staff @@pldisawasteofmylife
@@pldisawasteofmylifeYou can call up the controller and ask permission to drive in PM or CM at any time outside of peak.
Oh wow all these facts are wrong by a mile. I literally work on the underground and it’s all wrong. Please don’t believe this post and ask me anything you want to know :)
so are all the claims in the video false or are some partially true? the video seems like some AI written nonsense
The facts are taken from this article www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/13-secrets-of-the-tube-revealed-by-london-underground-driver-a6838976.html
Some are partially true but yes this is very wrong. Cite a newspaper? Seriously
@@UrbanStoriesseriously, your citation is a newspaper? Get a grip…
Of course I'm citing a newspaper, I'm not BBC.
Central gets crowded because it passes through stations like: Liverpool Street, Holborn, Oxford Circus, Bank, Tottenham Court Road, Marble Arch and Holland Park.
All of which are either: centres of business and industry, centres of tourism, or host high-end apartments in Central London or its nearby areas.
Literally😂😂..C2C definitely faster than central
and stratford
picadilly is definitely the most crowded
They have lights, not every driver wants them on
They don’t want then on when operating in tunnels / at night because it makes it harder to see in the dark
When driving in dark environment you don't want to have lights on because you can't see what's outside. Try a ride in your car at night with the lights in your car on and find out how well you can see what's happening outside...
Fact No 8 London Underground is free on the 30th of February
You mean fake Nr. 8, because all the proclaimed secrets here are bollux. That happens when somebody who is just some Shorts liar tries to copy Geoff Marshall
There are wild horses in the tunnels that have to be culled occasionally, with hammers. Or so said Ted Maul
OK, well I have missed the last train after tapping in, so that is bullshit.
As someone who used to live on the central line I promise it’s not the fastest 😂
On the outer sections it is pretty fast.
But it is damn well the Hottest, it’s like a Fkn Sauna !! 😂
Elizabeth Line Is The Fastest 😢
@@surrayyabegum8381It's not the tube.
@@teesman61 If that isn't then..... probably Metropolitan Line Is The Fastest, as @ElliotCoulling I used To live near the Central Line when I was a kid and I promise you, it Is not the fastest.
bro is the CEO of blabbering
This guy has the audacity to sell tube merch when he’s clearly never been to London in his life
whenever you hear an american narrating a video about another country, you know it's going to be hilarious crap.
hes british
@@hipixstudio with an American accent. Ok I get it now 🤔😂
its ai dummy
The channel is a British channel. He isn’t American.
@@whosagoodgirl5846 oh right - he’s deliberately putting on an American accent. Who is he? How do you know this?
“Central line is the fastest”
Victoria line : 👁️ 👄👁️ lol
God bless you all ❤
The central line is faster on the outer sections.
This isn’t true - if you tap in you can still miss the last train. The Tube staff don’t care and you won’t be able to find anyone if this happens
If you're late why should anyone else care?
@@macman975 I guess trolls like you haven’t got a companionate bone in their body. Too long spent in their parent’s bedroom banging out crap this this on the keyboard
The idea that the central line is overcrowded because it’s fast is hilarious, and just dumb 😂
Agreed. I can think of at least half a dozen reasons why some lines might be more crowded than others. And the speed of the line isn't one of them.
Not totally untrue though.
I live next to the Picadilly line. I walk 20 mins to Central line rather than take Picadilly.
Central is fast, frequent and straight across London. This results in a quicker journey from outer London.
I know many who choose the same instead of taking the District line also, which stops a lot.
@@RVNmax that’s kind of my point. It’s the route and it’s stops that make it popular.
Yeah trains don’t get overcrowded based on their speed wtf lmao
When a Septic Tank talks about london, you know its going to be bollocks
It’s all ChatGPT content. Probably some 13 year old trying to become the next UA-cam influencer 😂
Rubbish the Vic line is much faster then the central line another stupid video made by someone who has probably never been to London
Yet you still watch 😂😂
@@stephenconnolly2582 don't worry won't watch again.
@@stephenconnolly2582well you're not going to know the video is a lie without watching it. What are you brain-dead?
@@stephenconnolly2582 It's a short dude, it probably just randomly came up in his feed like it did for me...
Victoria line has more speed due to the ling distance between their stations. Central line has more acceleration but Stations are closer to each other. On the outside. Metropolitan line is the fastest.
LOL. The train waiting for passengers!
I worked on the Underground in 1986 to 1990. Back then loads of people would miss the last train. There were no barriers, in fact they were just starting to talk about implementing them. Back then it was called the UTS. The Underground Ticketing System. We nicknamed it the Useless Ticketing System, because we all thought it wouldn't be as good as having a ticket collector on the barrier and people would just jump over them. I was the Station Forewoman at Chalk Farm and I would have to lock up the station after the last train and open it up again in the morning while I was on the night shift. I was rarely on my own though, because the P-Way guys were stationed there and they often worked through the night, though we had separate offices.
I can tell you first hand the first one is bull ...😂
I think the whole video is bull
Most details incorrect from an ex staff member
"UrbanStories" just copied stuff from an independent article and even got that facts wrong...
So when they say they are waiting at the stop ‘to regulate the service’, what is actually happening is the driver stopping off at the station for a 💩?
I remember a whole bunch of us running to and in Leicester Square station just to catch the last Piccadilly train. Some missed it. They do not wait. They’re on a schedule and want to go home.
Not the creepy deer jumpscare
Another „Secret“ of the London Underground: Driving Tube trains is _really_ hard because they're rather long, and it's surprisingly difficult to steer such long trains around very sharp curves *and* keep the wheels centered on those thin metal rails... 🙃
I’m surprised the central is the fastest not the Victoria
I think it is
The fastest in metropolitan then victoria then jubilee
Victoria's speed isn't the most fast. It just has really good acceleration and deceleration that makes people think is speed.
all facts in the video are wrong
The Victoria is the fastest. All of these facts are either made up or plain obvious.
No.1 is a myth, where did you get that from, no way, they radio down to the driver. Honestly, what a load of rubbish.
There are not 'secret' toilets on most tube stations. That is rubbish! There are certain stations where the drivers can use the office toilets, that's all!
I know these are probably fake but they are still kinda entertaining
Keep going Urban Stories pls
Bro said "deers"💀
Yep haha. Plural of deer is deer.
'deers'
famous for living in london
Vic Line : Ok bro.
Lol. What a load of bs xD
And using mainline train footage as the underground? Really???
I love my city! It’s stunningly beautiful!
You can never miss the last train but can easily miss your last train lol
Bro should be called Urban Myths 💀🤣
The fastest line is the metropolitan, not the central
I think he meant average speed, not top speed.
@@face_therealityIf it's average speed, then I believe that is either the Jubilee or Victoria. So still not the Central, whichever way you look at it.
I know someone who was a train driver until 2021….there literally are lights in there, they dont work in darkness 😂
Yeah... that would be a safety violation- atleast whilst underground or at night.
You talk rubbish
@@commuterjack
And, you talk rubbish
@@nearlyretired7005 Rigghhhtt... any credibility to back that claim or you just gunna leave it that?
I was born and lived in London for the first 26 years of my life, working in the city centre, often getting trains as late as midnight from either Piccadilly Circus or Leicester Square and have NEVER heard of the first claim being a thing.
this was NOT written but someone from london
I was in the London underground two weeks ago and I can say,the trains were a littlw bit of small, but the tracks on ground were amazing
they did actually waited for me once when I was walking ( running )down the escalator it was last train on Saturday, thank you Victoria line
Imagine the last tube waiting for everyone when they’re smashed out of their gourds and trying to tap in. I mean, theoretically how long would they wait for us? 5 mins? An hour? I would love to live in this dudes version of London 😂
The lights they have but cuz reflection , especially in the tunnels is brighter than the surroundings so its either in dim or only instrument lights , but in every cab theres cab lights
Actually *central* is not the fastest and *bakerloo* is not the slowest, *metropolitan* is fastest and *district* Is slowest
The deer jumpscare 🙏😭
On London Underground when you're going back late after a drink you think you missed your stop but wake up on your couch or the stairs somehow.
Most of them are wrong, the bathroom is true, and yeah there are staff maps, I have one
Also, I’ve seen many a Tube driver crap/piss on the tracks.
The Bakerloo line has a population of blind tube mares...horses, that used to pull the trains, but escaped and became feral.
So much better than TTC, 1 horizontal line + a U, and they call the other line with only less than 8 stations a line. That's all TTC has operating for many decades. And strains on seats everywhere.
The fastest is the metropolitan. The central is not even in the top 3. The top 3 are metropolitan, then victoria then jubilee cuz google can literally tell u
Loved the bit where the train drivers in London see a lot of hawks 😂😂😂😂😂very common in London
Yes, all of these are not true. Of course tube trains have lights, take the 1996 stock on the jubilee :/ And also, the district line is not fully automated, the only one that is fully automated is the DLR
Great video, how do you guys stop train perfectly to match the platforms?
And then we have Toronto….
I don't know about the Underground, but I drive a Commuter Rail passenger train for the MBTA in Boston and sometimes we are in tunnels and we see lots of wires, concrete, gravel, rails, ties, and a hole lot of darkness and stations. And all of the subways or American Undergrounds have cad lights in them including the Commuter Rail.
HAWKS??? I DIDNT EVEN KNOW WE HAD THOSE HERE
Top tip ,actually go to the UK before spreading fiction.
Respect to the drivers. They deserve a better wage for keeping the country moving!
Another video riddled with mistakes
Yeah, I’ve definitely tapped in, only to get down and find out there aren’t any trains (and got stranded in that area as a consequence - don’t think I even got a refund for the fare! 😂)
no one was ever worried about the last train leaving after i got to the station
were more worried about it leaving before i even get there
"The Central line gets overcrowded" is a huge understatement to how crowded it gets 😂 you're one breath away from harassing someone at all times
Bakerloo is so chill I can’t even fib
Until its the summer
Bakerloo is the slowest line?
Waterloo & City: Hold my passengers
Waterloo line ? What the hell is that
@@jawbreaker8363 Waterloo & City Line is the shortest line on London Underground, serving only 2 stations
The Circle Line in rush hour is the slowest for my money.
Subway train drivers in Stockholm isnt allowed to walk up or down stairs while clocked in and is forced to use the elevators. Its so they dont ruin their legs
Don't mess with the Londoner.
I took the Elizabeth line recently, it is definatlry automated as it has these new platform doors that the train doors line up with perfectly. So I do reckon a few other lines are automated.
They're not.
And train drivers don’t know this till this video
I, as a 14 year old, travelled in the cab of a Tube Train, albeit from Waterloo to The Bank, and there were lights in the cab.
I, as a Londoner, have missed the last Train.
All Underground Stations are packed at Rush Hour!
Isn't that a Zonal Map? Hardley secret!
Didnt this Tube Driver tell you it's pronounced Choob not Toob, you know, like a Tuba, not a Tooba!
Oh, dear!
Whoch ones are automated 😮? Thats cool
the drivers are also there when the trains are automatic so that they can open/close doors
Yeah, I've totally missed the last train when changing lines... And when you're going E to W, that means getting a cab because no way I'm changing three buses past midnight 😅 I learned my lesson
Number 8 - the London Underground has its own unique species of Mosquito.
All wrong, you will miss the last train as they will go without you if you don’t jump on quickly when it arrives. Whoever did this video has never been on the tube lol
I'd say the circle line is the slowest. When I lived in London, before moving to the home counties, I avoided using the Circle in order to get to Paddington, so opted for the Bakerloo. Also, re the first one, station staff stop people from accessing the tube station by a certain time.
The last time I was on The Tube in London was on the 25th June 2002 from Heathrow to Piccadilly Circus (apparently the last train) off the last flight from Dublin heading for Soho - Heathrow at that hour is like another planet, I had no idea where I was going in Central London and the tube staff at Heathrow were incredibly arrogant and rude, adding to my terror of travelling alone outside Ireland and I was terrified and scared stiff the whole time, being directly underneath Big Ben at the stroke of Midnight, which frightened the living daylights out of me, having got lost half way up The Mall - what I did notice about the tube even on a chilly night was the intense wall of heat in the tube tunnels and platforms - I spent most of that night in Balan’s Coffee Shop in Soho, heading for Euston the next morning for the train to Manchester but got lost on the Circle Line trying to find Euston with an outdated copy of Spartacus gay guide for London
Dude is this written by ai?
probably lol
If you’re in the deep stations near the Thames look at the tunnel mouths. A lot of them have flood doors which can be closed if there’s a major breach.
In the tunnels if you look out the windows you’ll see 2 bare copper wires about 6 inches apart. As I understand it a driver can connect a crude phone to them to speak to their control room.
The flood gates are out of commission as are the tunnel wires.
1. "You can never miss the last train"
It's called the last train for a reason mate...
2. Metropolitan Line is the fastest, hence the "fast" services to Amersham and Chesham
3. Ever heard a cabin light?
4. We have windows in the train mate
5. Dont know
6. False
7. There is a map for the London fire brigade indicating if stations are overground or underground for emergency situations.
Never ever, in a million years will a driver wait, Never
I think everyone forgot to read the caption...
The first one couldn’t be further from the truth 😂 there’s a train every few mins so if you missed it, you can always board the next one.
I have already seen many point out that most, if not all the facts listed are wrong, but if the “six automatic lines” fact are true, that would mean that a bit over 50% is automated, whilst in the Copenhagen underground, there are four lines, all of which is automated.
And London is by far bigger than Copenhagen, so if you just go by number of active lines, Copenhagen is covered better by their “Metro”, than Londons “Tube”
Im not from anywhere near th UK and I found this interesting
Secret 8 they have special rooms where they store the bodies of jumpers
I score this 3/7.
1 - false, you can miss the last train
2 - central is not the fastest line and its crowded for other reasons
3 - trains do have lights in the cabin
5 - trains are not completely automated, braking and speed are sometimes on some lines
You forgot the animal ones, there's only one true hawk in Britain, deer and foxes are only seen in the average persons life like twice a month so there's no way
i’ve been a plus one in my dads train driver cabin on the picadilly line and there are no lights in the cabin you just sit in darkness
First one is an absolute myth! 😂😂
I know for a fact that the third one is wrong, EVEN THE OLDEST TRAINS OPERATING HAVE A CAB LIGHT
This is because the Waterloo line is the shortest line in London and the central is the longest lines of 5.
“No o one wants to see what they see ‘down there’…”👀🤯
