I don't understand the hate on Maister. He played Game and Watch but his G&W is MILESSSS better than every Game & Watch player ever. He definitely carry this character to the next level.
Literally no other player puts in his results with G&W. Its understandable to not find this character entertaining or not like fighting them but I hate seeing people disregard Maister, he puts in work.
Honestly people needs to stop hating on maister just because of gmw tbh, I totally understand why gmw hate exists. He's annoying af to play against due to up b, gimmicky play style, 9 Rng, impossible to edgegaurd, ledge options are broken, etc. But the dislike should only be directed at Gmw, not Maister. He's obviously the only gmw getting any top results atm, he's in no way carried at all.

The reason FE swordies are so annoying to face is because half the time all their moves look the same, they slash their sword on frame 4 and it does 24% damage from across the screen and combos into everything else.

Obvious firsts is a venue and set ups, switches you can get competitors to lend usually if you discount their venue fee but it doesn't hurt to know people who would lend them for free (friends always help). Also even before that consider the region you're in and if any other locals are nearby and what days they are. I'm no expert but those seem like the first obvious steps. Try looking for locals in the area and asking the TO's for tips and maybe even help.

@@lukek2965 Well its not exactly the same. GnW was considered low tier by nearly everyone for a very long time until Maister came on the scene. When Joker was available, people were already seeing the potential in the character, but wanted to wait and see how it performed in tournaments. A few months later, Leo was already winning tournaments with him. Joker was never universally considered mid or much less low tier.
Enjoy seeing Tweek’s PT make a return. Think Roy would do even better against G&W tho. The shield-stun on hilt moves in conjunction with the fact that Roy has jab, soft f’air, and n’air kill confirms on G&W is not being considered by Tweek. Not to mention Roy’s neutral-b does more dmg than G&W’s up-b, and the two moves will consistently trade at ledge.

The strength of Up B out of shield is very hard to deal with. There are other characters who can utilize the same mechanic well but G&W is so strong with it because his is so fast and leads into combos. It's very notable for example in this set that tweek doesn't even use Squirtle because there is no point against G&W. Maister is sick and the only person consistent with G&W but I feel like if other players Learn the discipline MKLeo has to play around G&W maister will struggle hard. Then again learning to be Leo is probably one of hardest thing on earth. Like the other G&W main said, Nerf up b so neutral isn't so frustrating and campy with the character
