The externship is a huge bonus, but completely optional

To enroll in Preppy's Pharmacy Tech Program, all you need is a high school diploma, You can go to this page, startpharmacytech.com/ to enroll.
Once you complete the program, you'll get a certificate from the university. This certificate signifies that you've successfully completed pharmacy tech training.
After this, you can apply with the PTCB for your certification exam. Just to clarify a certification is a professional credential that you earn after passing a standardized exam (In this case the CPHT exam conducted by PTCB)

Employers care where you go to school! Hey there! I think it will vary by employer. But from the recent state rulings it doesnt seem like they can force anyone to do it if they refuse.
