- 2023 was quite a year for SWGOH, and the characters and ships released last year were about as impactful as any year's crop I've seen. Let's see how they stack up against each other!

It feels really wrong to see Saw above Merrin, I really think those should be switched.

Every character here is either really good and useful or a req for something good and useful. Very good year
Unpopular opinion but Kneesa is criminally underrated. My ignorance of her kit caused me to lose a R8 slkr solo to a R3+ ewok team.

I get holds with my zorii Resistance team in tw. Around 280m guild power.
I'm not quite sure whether Leia can still be considered the best character in the game, or whether it now is Bane. Leia has the advantage of working at full strength on defense, but Bane can solo(basically) Leia, and most other teams. Plus he is only a conquest character, not a GL, i.e. more accessible.(still the best one of 2023 ofc though)

I would swap Trench and Tarfful because Trench can beat 1-2 GLs even without his omis.
Also Merrin should be next to Zorri, both took a bad or mid team and they let them beat GLs.
And i think MK6 should be very high ob the list because its really annoying and can stop Marauder vs Levi (if you dont play it well and/or have R9 Bad Batch) and potentially other fleets.
Who can trench beat without his omi that’s a GL?
@@songeta Jabba pretty easily and Rey sometimes (didnt try it myself because i dont have trench but i have seen Videos of it working)
@@klogott3462 I am extremely skeptical of them beating full Rey or Jabba teams without Omicrons, or even with for Jabba. They’re great for cleaning up though
@@songeta he cna definately do it, you can look up the Battle on UA-cam, there are a few Videos on it. But if you want a Consistent Jabba Counter, Merrin works really well in my Experiance, she just needs as much Tenacity and Protection and Defense as Possible and avoid these Stats on the other Squad Members (and avoid Zombie and Spirit, using them makes you lose)
As a Bad Batch fanatic, i must say not putting Marauder as the Best Ship is a serious Crime

Marauder is great but you’re smoking something if you think it’s even close to being in the same conversation as TIE Defender

We get it, you like the Marauder. I do too. It’s a great ship.
But not a single thing you’ve said there is true.
A) Marauder “beats everything in the game” - in what universe is that supposed to be taken seriously? Not even close to being the case
B) Defender “needs 2 conquest ships to beat everything” - again, laughable. You do not need a single conquest ship for T.D. to be the absolute wrecking ball that it is.
With all due respect judging by your profile pic & past comments where you self describe as a “bad batch fanatic”, it’s clear you’re letting your personal bias supersede the objective facts of reality here

Tbh; I’m happy with the quality of the characters that we got in 2023. Even Kneesa and the Ewoks can take out some things. and aren’t worth completely skipping out on.
I still don’t see why Scythe is considered good. Maybe im using it wrong but i find it overrated
It lets you have a leviathan counter, though you need defender and interceptor too
