A lot of labor but you sure ended up with some incredible compost in the end! Congrats on a great process. Your garden will be happy next season!! Cheers Glen and Annette!
Genius piece of equipment to get the job done! It looks like a A.T. Ferrel fanning mill we used to screen oats and barley through. When Glen pulled up with that bucket load of soil, I thought...Oh boy, that will be a test if he dumps the whole bucket load on it. Better patent it guys!
What a great piece of equipment Annette 🙌🏼 The sifted pile looks like a really nice and fine compost. Clever cookie!! Have a wonderful day xx Cathi xx 😘
Thank you so much, for sharing a impressive and informative presentation. Believed you will, shared such type presentation in future again and again. Many many blessing to you and you're beloved family.....
We just watched this on the TV and had to come here and comment. That is really nice, My son and I was thinking of making something like this. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! Glen was thinking of doing a video to explain the different ways to cause the vibration. If you are building one probably the easiest way to get the shaking would be with a sawzall (reciprocating saw). Take care, Annette🌺
It is working pretty well so far. We have sifted enough for 1/4 of our big garden. If we spend another half a day at it we should have enough. It is still labor intensive but isn’t that the way of the garden? 😂😆 Take care, Annette🌺
Wow!!!! Absolutely amazing!!! Glenn is a genius!!! What a money saving device there, perfect compost texture!! Loved the end , when Glenn is down sifting through his fine work, you two did great!!! Getti g to old to hand sift🤦🤦🤣🤣🤣 Boy I know that feeling!! Great job you two!! The first time I would plug that in...it would shake apart🤦🤦🤦 What a valuable tool!! Thank you both for bringing us along!! 😁😁😁👍👍👍
Thanks Nelson! Glen was a little exuberant sometimes throwing the shovel fulls onto the tray... I may have worn near as much as the ground the odd time. We will see how today goes...maybe we switch jobs! 😆😆 Hope your weekend has been good and you can breathe a little. Take care, Annette🌺
Now that is a handy piece of equipment!! Well done Glen! 👏 you need that with all that compost, that’s gonna make such a difference in time for you guys :) I do love that you can wheel it around too, great design guys!! Much love 💕 💐🌻 xx
Hey Marc! We could make a new pile of those bigger pieces but we have so much cow manure that we will just start over next spring. It’s a great excuse to clean the corrals! Take care, Annette 🌺
@@TheCowEmporium we are hanging in. Hurt my back, out of commission for awhile. Ben a rough summer. You guys should have a super garden next year. God Bless.
Oh that's nice! I wish I knew how to do that. Do you have a video on how to put something like this together for a novice? I am really interested on how you attach a motor to shake the thing.
The motor part was a lot more complicated and expensive than it needed to be. If I did it again I would mount a reciprocating saw to the frame with hose clamps and fasten a strip of metal where the blade goes and attach that to the screen to make it go back and forth. The saw has a adjustment for speed (most varieties).
What a great idea ! But if their is huge sacks down or barrel for the unsifted hard materials u don’t need to shovel again to transfer ,but bravo 👏 Less effort and energy ..! GoodLuck 🍀🍀

Thanks Rich!
We have made enough for half of the garden. Hopefully next week we get it all done.

Thanks Anita! The compost looks so nice coming out after being sifted.
Our plants are going to be sooo happy!
Take care lovely,
Annette🌺💛
Nice setup! That will save some time. It reminds me of some great machines I saw yesterday at an antique tractor/truck/machine show.
That’s cool Rick. Did you get some pictures of the show?
@@TheCowEmporium Yes. At least two videos coming soon.
Wow this was really great ...as Glen said it's too old for that ...so now you invented new one... Im always amazed you both

Wow turned out good😄
It’s so nice! A lot of work but worth it. We need a lot of compost for our garden.
Take care lovely,
Annette🌺💛
Very cool! Love the resourcefulness here on so many levels. Do you just let the big chunks age some more?

@@TheCowEmporium Hahaha makes sense. I wonder if you ran it through a mulcher before aging it would end up more fluffy.
great idea, that is an amazing compost pile that would change our lives here our ground is rock and clay that is a very nice sifter, please take care
We do have a lot of cattle manure for compost if we remember to get it started. Our soil is very clay as well.
Looks great.
Thank you! It’s still some work but way less than by hand.
that is some fantastic final product
Thank you!
I had a wood grain cleaner too worked great for seed what a smart idea Glen always enjoy your videos CYU

Hey Annette..... It's nice to see you guy's... Oh yeah that's a giant file of poop
Glen said we didn’t have to get through the whole pile.
