Melee is the hard mode of the game. Anyone who plays spellcaster and acts like it's hard haven't truly played the game lol.

The boss is a lot easier on mage, you need more hp. on melee she's damn near impossible you just have to get lucky
just use the mimic spirit and you’ll destroy her with melee easily. she’s also very susceptible to bleed.
@@unfortunate27 This. Her Weakness is bleed, she counters magic well but you can counter her with a bleed weapon. A simple case of rock paper scissors.

And she has no trouble hitting and healing from mages.He need to use ihutel who has shield,has ranged attack and ports a lot(imho best tanking summon for casters). Plus on second phase he need to switch to PvP spells(fast casting and guided) after initial burst with ray of doom
nah man he doesnt need hp, that girl goes through 2.3k hp with heavy armor like its cheese. Light roll ftw. Block the first dive and then slow roll to 2 fast rolls. Oh and mimic.

I mean, the build still works, just gonna have to play it smarter. Put on the tankiest armor possible, summon mimic, put on armor that let's you normal roll and then just spam the beam. The mimic should be able to survive the whole fight, making this fight a damage test.

It seems like they made the mages really strong and beginner friendly. You two shot most early mobs. But it also seems like the trade off with pure mages is it can be challenging to play when you can't summon against a melee happy boss, unmounted fight, or just a really aggressive boss in general. That being said when you play a duel wield dexxer you have to be just as patient sometimes. No blocking or parrying, also noticed when fighting shielded bosses I roll to their unshielded side the whole fight you get way more openings.

This fight is insane for a melee only, no summons build. Watched OhTofu finally beat her last night on Twitch. Took him like 9 hours total or so.
Yeah, finally beat her yesterday with my dex build no summon. Required farming up ~ 20 extra levels and swapping my weapon to the despised Rivers of Blood Katana. All in all it took me ~ 15h. Was shaking when I finally beat her.

I finally beat her after 4hrs of trying and blood loss is the way to go like using dual katanas worked so well for me
Dual katanas maxed out with bloodhound step ash of war is the way to go
I'm vagabond lvl 50 but want to do that, can my respec would still reach its full potential as samurai build?

Edit: try to get the mimic tear summon I know she might heal of it but it's better for her to have aggro on summon then on you and also try to get it the mimic summon to +10

I’m still stuck on her. She’s actually so hard. Arguably top 3 hardest bosses in any souls borne game
Yeah, she’s pretty hard but if u use the mimic tear summon, she becomes pretty manageable, I beat her first try using the summon after I died 20+ times without using any summons
If you’re not melee, respec into dex using bloodhound greatsword with mimic. Still very hard but makes things easier.

Deepest respects to anyone who beats her solo melee without cheese. I had to mimic tear bleed build stunlock her just to win, and even then it was by the skin of my teeth. Thing with mimic tear is, it only works if you're a melee build because the point is to stagger her. Mages just can't do that
lol i had no idea the cheese was to use bleed on her. i just used mimic tear and my blasphemous blade to kill her. yeah i had to try to stagger her as much as possible.

Those final words was my exact thought after beating her too. Word for word. One of my favorite bosses aesthetically in the entire souls series. Hated her mechanics with a passion.
Yeah i tried this boss as a dex dual katana but you needed blood of rivers to actually cheese her and because i killed the fire giant that invader never spawned ever.
I literally tried everything and then i was... fuck it, frost stomp.
Honestly if it wasn't for her hp drain this might of been a fairer fight.
Hell people said don't even bother summoning help they will just be flasks for her.

@@Soogooroo playing a mage is not as easy as it sounds trust me. While some bosses are easier as a mage some bosses forces you to fight close range.
@@DJ-Armani yeah but most bosses are way easier with mage and even if the bosses are easier close range you can get spells that are literal swords and you can get a mimic to distract them and just spam rock sling

Trust me jev I feel your pain. Being a mage and fighting this boss is INSANELY hard. I’m level 122 and I just beat her. I used the Moonviel Katana when she came close and the gravity or moon spell at range. Just some tips from me but Good luck, can’t wait until the next vid I’m loving this content.

you can imagine what fighting her melee was like, actually having to get close enough to dodge 3 flurrys in a row is literally the hardest timing in the game. and genuinely, truer than ever, mage is the easy mode in this game.
I made the amazing discovery that bloodhound step absolutely cheeses that move. Slap it on your weapon and spam LT/L2/whatever key and it won't even be threatening
I’ve been using melee with dual uchigatana’s with bloody slash and it absolutely shreds most bosses that I’ve come by so far. So if you ever try it out, it’s really fun to use.

I used a faith build for her. It’s okay to switch your build for specific bosses since they resist certain elements jev. Don’t get to overwhelmed with it you can do it!
Completely understand your pain, i run dex/str/int but I completely stopped using magic and beat her with moonveil and meteorite blade, had to actuallysit down and memorize movesets. The last time i did that was with most of the dlc bosses in bb and ds3
I was able to out-DPS her heals with a Mimic using the Bloodhound’s Fang. She has pretty low poise and a lot her attacks are able to be interrupted by melee hits, so I was able to get her down with jumping attacks, charge attacks, and bleed build up. I still don’t know how to avoid that ridiculous flurry attack though.
Hopefully we get to see Jev's 2nd playthrough of this game
Glinstone arc does decent damage while casting really quick if you have points in dex. I’ve been doing the melee caster type build w confessor and my arc does insane damage for only having like 30-35 int. I do have quite a bit into dex also though so maybe the cast time is longer than I think but it’s spammable like the glint pebble but with some radius on it & seems to hit harder
