Thank you for your support! Not to worry, there are no plans to have Mocha replace SynthEyes. If you have a lot of day-to-day 3D match moving or difficult or complex shots to solve for 3D, SynthEyes is still the best choice for you.
Hi Carlos- The version of Mocha that comes pre-installed with AE (Mocha AE) does not have the new 3D tracking. It’s a feature available in Mocha Pro only, which can be separetly purchased as a plugin for AE.
If your RTX is not tracking, then there could be a specific issue with the GPU driver. If you email support or post to the Mocha Pro forum we can help you out with the specifics. Full support is difficult in a youtube comment! :)
What is difference between Silhouette, Mocha and Syntheyes? Do I need both applications for tracking and compositing since you guys sell both of them? All of them seem very similar.
There are big differences between the three. If you are mainly tracking in 2D and doing common tasks like rotoscoping, stabilization, and mesh warping, with some 3D camera tracking then Mocha Pro is going to be the one for you. If you are doing heavy roto and paint work, with some 2D compositing, then Silhouette is the leader. Silhouette also contains Mocha Pro anyway. And finally, if you are doing a lot of 3D camera and object solving with often tricky shots, then SynthEyes is the choice. There is also the Boris FX Suite, which contains everything. Probably the best option for you is to talk to one our Sales support people. If you let them know what type of projects you're working on, or want to work on, then they will happily guide you to a more informed choice : support.borisfx.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=8863752433421
Mocha Pro is always the latest version. Some features are excluded completely from Mocha AE, like the Remove and Camera Solve modules. The core of Mocha AE is usually slightly older. This means that certain track and roto workflow features and improvements make it into Mocha AE few months later. Is there anything in particular you are missing?
Check out our tutorials on Track Mattes, then turn on the garbage matte button for that layer in the Camera Solve module. For example Exercise 4b here : borisfx.com/free-training/mocha-essentials/

Hello Sir, I face a big problem. It try all the ways but failed. When i copy shape data in mocha pro to clipboard and then paste into after effects, Its show Unnamed layer and nothing to show. Please how to fix it. Using ae 2024
Why doesnt work in the real life, I had followed all tutorials word by word and JUST doesnt work the track option and remove object.. I have a 3D 360 video, walking into a shop and need to replace a few objects on the wall.. I mask at the first frame and when track, after a few seconds the mask GOES in another direction.. nothing as is in the tutorials.
Head over to the forums. It's easier to diagnose a problem there. As long as you've set the clip up to be 360, and don't have any strange objects passing through the screen that you haven't masked out, you should be good.
@@BorisFXco Hi, doesn't work.. also writing here is good to people want to guy your product, and see how Wonderful and magic is based on your video but in real life doesnt work. I had done word by word from all your tutorials and nothing is like you say.
I don't know what to say about the Support system. Maybe try a different browser? support.borisfx.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=8862260885901 The forum link is : forum.borisfx.com/ It's going to be almost impossible to fix your specific problem writing in a UA-cam comment. We need to see your footage, and how you've set your project up to diagnose what the problem could be.
There are many reasons one might want to extend out Mocha's features with a Python script. Larger studios use it to get various tools talking together automatically in their pipeline. But you can use it for creating a new, custom exporter, or even for changing the color of the UI! Here are a couple of tutorials : borisfx.com/videos/?tags=product:Mocha%20Pro,feature:Python%20Scripting&search=
So am I understand right, that 3d solver is like 3d camera in AE? And SynthEyes same, but more advanced, for more complicated tracking, so I can choose between 3d solver and syntheyes depends of complexity shoot?
Yes, that's correct. Additionally we would add that if you need accurate tracking, roto and clean up tools but also have to use 3D elements in your footage, Mocha Pro is the best tool for you. If you have a lot of day-to-day 3D match moving, difficult or complex shots to solve for 3D or you work in forensics, SynthEyes is an excellent choice.
While the 3D solver does not perform as well as demonstrated in BorisFX tutorials (I consistently encounter average errors in the 1-4 range even with slow stock footage), features like extrapolate track and skip frames are truly impressive. For those who have struggled with these before, they're absolutely mind-blowing. The only thing lacking now is a more user-friendly adjustment track option, as the current one is annoying to put it mildly. Once done this could easily become the best tracking software in the world.
Thanks for the feedback! Camera solve quality can vary depending on the type of footage so you may need to tweak the tracker parameters depending on the length and complexity of the shot. We'll be adding more tutorials on how to tackle shots like these in future. 👍 We'd love to hear your thoughts on how you think we can improve the AdjustTrack module. This is best done by posting to our dedicated Mocha Pro forum: forum.borisfx.com/c/mochapro/
I'm doing the process of removing foreign substances from the video, can you tell me how to use that tool and the remove tool together in mocha? Is there any way to export the location value with AF? I want to solve everything in mocha.
Been a Syntheyes and MochaPro user for years now. Love both products and it’s great to see some integration. One of the features I love about Syntheyes is the offset tracking feature. Is that coming over to MochaPro as well?
Not currently. You could try and use several PowerMesh tracks to do it because PowerMeshes are initially surface trackers. You will get a dense enough cloud of points that you can make out shapes, but we're not currently generating meshes out of the individual features.
We export camera animation and static features/meshes to USD and FBX. Import has not been tested for Unreal Engine specifically, but it is known to support most aspects of these two formats. You'll need to check the Unreal documentation for what animation from these formats is supported.
I was about to learn syntheyes in the coming months. Honestly, I can't keep up with the tools anymore. I already have Mocha, so that's way better. Geotracker is the easiest and best for me right now for 3d stuff. I hope to get something similar with this and minimize the tools I use.
Powermeshes in 3d space looks very useful
I have been waiting for this for years now. It’s incredible. My process is currently in Syntheyes which is too slow of a workflow for this.
AMAZING! Can't wait to try all these new features!!
Been looking for a 3D tracker (with tutorials) for years! Finally I can use just one for both 2D and 3D. This is great!
finally 3D Tracking
*wow, amazing!*
Excellent addition!
Always blows my mind how good mocha pro gets update after update
Thank you Jeff! We appreciate the kind words.
Interesting! I didn't know that Mocha had a camera solver. Will look into this.
its a new feature
wonderful
constant keys- nice!
so so nice!
i have bought syntheyes from borisfx last year. Will mocha replace syntheyes?
Thank you for your support! Not to worry, there are no plans to have Mocha replace SynthEyes. If you have a lot of day-to-day 3D match moving or difficult or complex shots to solve for 3D, SynthEyes is still the best choice for you.
Is this updated version available in after effects 2024?
Hi Carlos- The version of Mocha that comes pre-installed with AE (Mocha AE) does not have the new 3D tracking. It’s a feature available in Mocha Pro only, which can be separetly purchased as a plugin for AE.
i have After Effect 24.3 but this effect in not new !
I'm not sure I know what you mean.
Nice i still use boujou 5.0 for alot of 3d camera solves.. that shit is like from 2012 lol. Excited to try this hopefully its alot better!
does not work like it does in the video. I have an RTx quadro and this thing fails on every track now.

@borisFX is there a big difference or any difference at all quality/performance wise between Mocha Pro in AE and stand alone Mocha Pro?
Mocha Pro is always the latest version. Some features are excluded completely from Mocha AE, like the Remove and Camera Solve modules. The core of Mocha AE is usually slightly older. This means that certain track and roto workflow features and improvements make it into Mocha AE few months later. Is there anything in particular you are missing?
can you make a video specifically on masking out people/reflections so they don't interfere with the camera solve?
Check out our tutorials on Track Mattes, then turn on the garbage matte button for that layer in the Camera Solve module.

Super excited!! Can't wait to try now
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Is this tool better than 3D tracker in AE
yes, vastly!
You need to improve the track matte module, and the option to import a luma matte, for areas in the foreground needed to be ignored in the tracking.

Currently, the Remove module only works in 2D - it doesn’t use a 3D solve. But we have that logged as a feature request for a future release.

Thanks for the kind words! No, we haven’t included any of the SynthEyes supervised tracking features. Mocha’s planar tracking is used instead.
very nice!!!
Awesomeeeeee! Lets make some art 🔥

Yeah🤘

so its basically nuke now
