  • Slowly working on my 1968 Case Backhoe, buying parts as I can, today its time to replace the fan belt with the link belt replacement.

    Ive had a link belt on my 480b for 10 years now, finally had to remove one link to tighten it up. Removing the pump is a fairly ignorant job.

      Weird that I had never even heard of them before but I guess they are made more for shop equipment than for use in cars. :)

      @@KoalityofLife yeah dont think would work on a hotrod but your tractor might be fine don't no how fast they stretch

      @@gregbrown9271 Yeah, its not super tight on my tractor and I don't run it over 2k RPM, so I figured it couldn't hurt to try it out. :)

    Cool man I keep a few of those belts in the shop for for my belt driven equipment. It makes a good short term solution to keep production going until i can get the proper replacement belts in.

      We’ll see how long it lasts on a backhoe. I don’t plan on pulling the hydraulic pump off any time soon. Lol :)

      @@MakersMovementDIY Little by little the old tractor will get rebuilt. I found a place to buy breaks for it so some day it will have breaks also. :)

    Made short work on the stumps

      This old backhoe does a pretty good job but it did help that the stumps were a bit rotten. :)
