U.S.S. Tulsa (CA-129) is one of the planned 10 Oregon City-class heavy cruisers for the United States Navy during World War II. She was assigned on 27 November 1944 to be an Oregon City-class cruiser built at Quincy, Massachusetts, by the Bethlehem Steel Company's Fore River Plant. However, on 12 August 1945, before the ship's keel had been laid, the contract for her construction was cancelled after Japan surrendered, which concluded WWII. The Oregon City-class heavy cruisers were a modified version of the previous Baltimore-class design; the main difference was a more compact pyramidal superstructure with single trunked funnel, intended to improve the arcs of fire of the anti-aircraft (AA) guns. The same type of modification also differentiated the Cleveland and Fargo classes, and to a lesser degree the Atlanta and Juneau classes of light cruisers. Tulsa is named after the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The city is considered to be the second-most populous city in the state of Oklahoma and 47th-most populous city in the United States. The population was 413,066 as of the 2020 census. It is the principal municipality of the Tulsa metropolitan area, a region with 1,023,988 residents. The city serves as the county seat of Tulsa County, the most densely populated county in Oklahoma, with urban development extending into Osage, Rogers and Wagoner counties. For most of the 20th century, the city held the nickname "Oil Capital of the World" and played a major role as one of the most important hubs for the American oil industry It is situated on the Arkansas River between the Osage Hills and the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in northeast Oklahoma, a region of the state known as "Green Country". Considered the cultural and arts center of Oklahoma, Tulsa houses two art museums, full-time professional opera and ballet companies, and one of the nation's largest concentrations of art deco architecture.
Hey Spartan! I watch your vid.s here in Vegas. I have a Tulsa capt. build you might like, take willis lee, give him ding ruchang and Charles Madden as inspiration, then use lees no flu zone, criss cross on second thought, master mech. and fight fire legendary. It is as productive as it is unusual. I hope you try and like it.
I just got the ship yesterday, and it's nasty. First game and multiply citadels from Mino throw the bow, maybe because of the trajectory of the shells. And also one smashed broadside Des Moines in the same game, he spammed HE and melted me because of tripled fires in the result. But anyway, two L vs one XIII. I see you are using Punch Through instead of AL Baltimore's unique skill. Would you please explain why? Is it better, from your perspective?
I got full health detonated in a Hipper last night from a Jean Bart and I have never been more dumb founded lol. Good video Spartan! Your “meet the” videos are always my favorites!
My only issue with this ship is the description, they say it’s similar to Oregon City class….which isn’t right, it is an Oregon City class, just wasn’t built
Hey Spartan, I was wondering if youve changed your Iowa build considering Iowa can be undetected for a while longer now, would you suggest changing the traget aquisition to concealment system?
Hey there Spartan... I've a request. Please consider taking out the West Virginia for a video. It's become an overlooked ship. It's not talked about much. It needs your attention.
Hey Spartan. Great video. Quick question if you have the time. What exactly is a "detonation"? Have you ever gotten one and how do you know if you got one? It seems to be the only medal I haven't earned yet. Thanks
Detonation is the one medal you don't want to earn it means that your ammo exploded and destroyed your ship.. This rare occurrence can happen at any HP level and always results in immediate death. Usually seen more on Destroyers though and from an overwhelming hit
Great vid, Spartan! I visited the stream last night, and saw the $400 donation. It was crazy! In your opinion, is the Republique attractive (or at least interesting to look at)?
Im ny opinion, the Repub and Patrie (Repub + Alsace in WoWS) are some of the most beautiful ships to me. I can't describe why french quad turrets are so attractive to me.
Where exactly do you want to aim to get plunging fire citadels on iowas and JBs? Also do you think USS Laffey could be a good campaign ship in the future?
this is probably a dumb question but I need help dudes. I'm a recently new player and it seems like I keep losing money during battles. I just unlocked the Colorado and I'm not sure what's happening. Any advice?
Welcome to the game and to my channel hope you enjoy for a long time. As for losing silver each match this is because of the service cost of your ship each battle. At the end of the battle you have a tab in the after action report that shows "economy" this will breakdown exactly how much you earn or lose during the match. The higher the tier the more expensive the service cost and the more you have to do during the match to earn enough silver to be positive after the match ends. Hope this helps
Everyone talking about how boring it is cause you don't move much.. But I have all kinds of fun setting fires and ruining people for shit decisions/positioning 😅
I mean stealth radars have their place for sure but often you have to give up a lot to spec those builds and put yourself into a bad situation which doesn't end well
@@SpartanElite43 I guess that's fair. I specd my Des Moines for stealth radar and was wondering whether to go with the reload water or the range mod without any epic or legendary mods because I don't have the steel it's been working out great for me so far but I do miss the extra range. I still often played from behind islands too
Great to see the video Spartan. Don’t know why but I just couldn’t bother with the Campaign this time around. Needed to take a break from Legends I suppose.
Still not convinced this makes any sense to use when I have Des Moines. Also, do you have the Salem? I know it's a Steel ship so needs to be worth the grind, but it has a MUCH better heal and 30mm of side plating... You would've shugged off almost all the damage you took from Maine if using Salem. Seems kinda stupid to me
Subscribed* With these consumables i definetly would prefer fully packed. Really useful... What are "auto loading" guns? How do these effect my gameplay? As someone who doesn't know what it is, i say: All ships reload automatically 😅.
So Auto Loading guns just mean there arent men Handling every shell that goes into the gun as it is being fired.. it is done by machine. In game this translates to having a faster Fire Rate and thus more Damage Per Minute.
I just unlocked it yesterday!!! but literally every match I go into with it, my team folds, I end up the best on the team in a loss. And that sums up my entire WoW Legends career I swear. 2 friendly destroyers just threw their ships away in the last one less than a few min in. This game is so fun, but SOOOOOO frustrating!!! the player base is absolutely terrible... Well anyone I get teamed up with anyway.
Sounds like you got a little butt hurt with the Maine ignoring you 😂😂 still on the fence if I'm going to buy the backing for it, do need some more higher tier ships for when WG release assignments

Wow, they finally added Tulsa to Legends
I am absolutely in love with Tulsa. Thank you for the review. ❤️

I'm going to drop some coinon a tier 7-8 premium ship.
Thanks Spartan. I'm going to think about the Tulsa.
And if u face yamato u know ur day is not getting bowtanked

Yes I run concealment mod on pretty much every battleship now.

Man i can't believe i got the tulsa before you almost to 50k!!!!
hey spartan, which tier 7 tech tree battleship is the best in the game?
Kansas or Missouri probably
Bismarck 100%. Very good accuracy with main guns. Almost never miss from 1.0 km away.
Hey Spartan. Great video. Quick question if you have the time.

A detonation medal is awarded to you when YOU are killed by your ships magazine exploding.
@@marcuslaramie3512 why the hell would I want THAT medal!!😂
It’s pretty rare only had 2 after 6k battles

I’ve got this thing but I haven’t used it yet
I got Tulsa 2 days ago Spartan!
Much prettier than the Balti with that bow!
Prop mod is a really good option

For plunging fire citadels you have to be at range so your shells are falling almost straight down when they impact and land on the deck of the ship

Tulsa has a much better profile and citadel then Des Moines/ Salem. Tulsa also feels more nimble.
Was in the shima best I could do was spot for the team and go back for the Yama
