I followed the tutorial and was able to convert the weapon to hitscan, but it doesn't seem to apply any damage. I noticed in the demo at the end of the video the shots don't affect anything, which is exactly what I'm experiencing.
The “apply damage” node is kinda of just a place holder node (or atleast that’s how I use it in the video). Once you create a damage system then you replace the “apply damage node” with like a call event mode if that makes sense. Sorry I should’ve mentioned it in the video
Super helpful video! I'm noticing my shots are directed very slightly downward, which is causing them to hit different heights depending on how far I am from the walls. Is there a way to fix this? Any help would be great.
Will this work pretty similarly if I try to adapt most of it into a third person fixed camera kind of game? Great tutorial, and thanks!
Yes it will
@@CleverlikeThank you so much!
You're welcome.
It helped me a lot but zoom in a bit next time so its a bit easier to see!
Good feedback. Thank you. :)

Correct this tutorial does not cover applying damage. We contacted the author with your comment.

Thanx for jumping in :)

If your shots are firing actual blueprint actors, check that they are not subject to gravity.
Can you change the hitscan max range into infinite?
Nope
