Ummmmm…. did Gary Lightbody re-record the vocals too?! WHAT?! AHHHHHHHH THIS IS AMAZING! I have loved this song since the original came out and Im just as in love with this version
These songs are notoriously different from the original version, taylor silenced all the radios in the United States that were not going to support it because they sounded the same original.
I'm sitting here comparing old and new for every song and yes. THey are different. Her voice is muuuch older and she's culled a lot of the backup vocals and other 'noise' in a lot of the songs. It really doesn't work for some songs. And her voice really does sound so much better inthe older ones where she's singing about teenage issues and IS a teenager LOL To compare the 2 voices now its like listening to a girl and a woman. Chalk and cheese.
This song is something else, it hits different when you’re old enough to understand what it really means. When red came out I was 10 now at 19 I realize the impact this songs have on me
i’m the same age and my mom listened to me blare the cd over the car radio for YEARS and listening to the taylor version she even agrees that the album sounds just as painful in a different way. instead of fighting and begging for someone’s love, it’s more in pain but giving ultimatums and understanding.
I think this is the most heartbreaking song on the album, maybe because it hits too close to home but I get a knot in my stomach every time I listen to it
It was through this song that i became a swiftie. Long before i knew taylor, i've been a huge fan of snow patrol. I still remember the look on my face the first time i heard this song -- shocked, curious, but overall in awe. Damn all this nostalgia hitting back!! I just love this song so much! ❤
This always have been my fav one from Red (and maybe from the entire discography). Thank you Taylor for giving me this masterpiece again and thank you Gary for doing this again, I don't think this song would've sound the same without you. Thanks for supporting our girl.
AHHHHH! It sounds so different! So much smoother and crisper. Not to mention, musically it feels so much grander and more emotional. Those violins!! She made one of my favorite songs from Red even better! I had chills for the entire song!
This is heartbreaking. Especially with the two voices twisting and blending together like the DNA helix. That is poetry, art, storytelling of a moment. I'm NOT CRYING, because of the song. I just have a stuck eyelash 😢..
I don’t think there’s anything more beautiful than the way their voices blend into harmony yet with different frequencies - potentially showing where things might lead. Masterpiece.

"The Last Time"
(feat. Gary Lightbody)
[Gary Lightbody:]
I find myself at your door
Just like all those times before
I'm not sure how I got there
All roads-they lead me here
I imagine you are home
In your room, all alone
And you open your eyes into mine
And everything feels better
[Both:]
And right before your eyes
I'm breaking, no past
No reasons why
Just you and me
This is the last time I'm asking you this
Put my name at the top of your list
This is the last time I'm asking you why
You break my heart in the blink of an eye, eye, eye
[Taylor Swift:]
You find yourself at my door
Just like all those times before
You wear your best apology
But I was there to watch you leave
And all the times I let you in
Just for you to go again
Disappear when you come back
Everything is better
[Both:]
And right before your eyes
I'm aching, no past
Nowhere to hide
Just you and me
This is the last time I'm asking you this
Put my name at the top of your list
This is the last time I'm asking you why
You break my heart in the blink of an eye, eye, eye
This is the last time you tell me I've got it wrong
This is the last time I say it's been you all along
This is the last time I let you in my door
This is the last time, I won't hurt you anymore
Oh, oh, oh
This is the last time I'm asking you this
Put my name at the top of your list
This is the last time I'm asking you why
You break my heart in the blink of an eye
This is the last time I'm asking you
Last time I'm asking you
Last time I'm asking you this
This is the last time I'm asking you

IT HURTS ME SO MUCH THAT THIS IS SO FREAKING UNDERRATED LIKE WHY DO PEOPLE NOT NOTICE THIS MASTERPIECE
@@wibblewobble489 she wasn't a teenager ( 23, in 2012 ) when the original album released either actually :3
@@Dynamix215 I think she was 22 but turning 23
I didn't think this would get changes, and I can't believe how she made it this much better.
MOST UNDERRATED IN RED ALBUM, SO SAD I LOVE THEIR VOCALS HERE
This is an underrated gem, I mean those harmonies though!!! And the lyrics, everything is on point. Chefs kiss.
It's giving both Fearless and Exile vibes and it's beautiful
This song is something else, it hits different when you’re old enough to understand what it really means. When red came out I was 10 now at 19 I realize the impact this songs have on me
I'm the same age and yeah I totally agree. I liked the beat and the emotion now i really undertand
i’m the same age and my mom listened to me blare the cd over the car radio for YEARS and listening to the taylor version she even agrees that the album sounds just as painful in a different way. instead of fighting and begging for someone’s love, it’s more in pain but giving ultimatums and understanding.
This has got to be one of my top 5. And NOBODY talks about it!!! What a masterpiece
I think this is the most heartbreaking song on the album, maybe because it hits too close to home but I get a knot in my stomach every time I listen to it
Another great example why Taylor's songs would be amazing in movies!!
I've literally got goosebumps as I'm listening to all of these songs
I never heard the first one but it's a beautiful song. Taylor's version are the gifts that keep on giving.
This song is literally a prelude to Exile and I love it. I just wish it hadn't taken so long for me to get into it.
I am so excited for the Taylor's Version of The Last Time.. This is truely a gem ,you can't ignore it..Please put this song on the top of the list..💕💕
I'm putting this on the top of my list, really.
listening to this and crying after listening to stay stay stay is such a huge contrast.
😢
Agradecida con Gary por volver a grabar esta masterpiece
WOW. It sounds more EPIC than the original. OMG I'm literally picturing a movie in my head. Whoa. I'm speechless. Bravo.
SAME
This is heartbreaking. Especially with the two voices twisting and blending together like the DNA helix.
That is poetry, art, storytelling of a moment.
I'm NOT CRYING, because of the song. I just have a stuck eyelash 😢..
THIS IS ONE OF HER BEST SONGS EVER AND DEFINITELY HER BEST DUET PURRRR.
I don’t think there’s anything more beautiful than the way their voices blend into harmony yet with different frequencies - potentially showing where things might lead. Masterpiece.
Whoa underrated song where has this been 🤯🧣
If this song is a person, this is that sweet unassuming keyboard player in a band that I always _always_ fell in love with.
Plz don't let this song be underrated again plz cause I very love this song.
