This song brought me to absolute tears. There is something to be said when a piece of music can make you reflect on so much at one time, especially when a person is going through so much. This masterpiece is a reminder to look to the heavens and see the bright side of life in spite of the darkness life may bring. Better days are sure to come and this song served as a form of reassurance.

True! Olafur, Sigur Ros, Bjork, for such a small country with a small population they produce so many amazing artists who truly tap into the mysteries of music that set them above many others. Iceland always had a very mystical almost ancient vibe whenever I see or think of the land.

Generally I listen to electronic genre, but some others are in rotation as well. I got down to neo-classical music 2 or 3 years ago and use to listen it to let it all out. Olafur was in my sight even before that because of Kiasmos. But this winter everything’s changed. My grandmother passed in December due to Covid. The kindest human being I ever knew. After few weeks I could barely listen to any piece of music, that usually sounds in my speakers/buds, besides these neoclassical compositions.
‘Spiral’ has became an anthem that starts and ends each day. It contains all the emotions I have to face: the violin part stands for pain and mourn, irretrievable feel of loss and the piano part covers that with a hope that now she’s at better place and brings the best memories from carefree childhood I had thanks to her.

For the first time in my life, I feel like I'm listening to a soundtrack of my life. Melancholic but hopeful. Everything what I've went through replay in my mind, and how far I've arrived. This song takes me too places. Places that my mind never knew it existed.

I love how you can see the whole setup and yet it’s so beautiful and atmospheric to look at. I was already a big fan before this album, and your concert in 2018 was one I felt so much. Out of the four concerts we had tickets for in 2020 I was most sorry I couldn’t get to see you. But the livestream with this album release was a beautiful experience and was one of the highlights of the year for me. I am consoled by the idea that I still have a ticket for your concert and I will see you live sometime in the future. Your music is so soothing and emotive, it is an amazing support in these hard times. Thank you so much.

This piece of music (and the whole album actually) is wonderful and otherworldly. However, it can be also toxic for those who are sunk in a depressive mood. Go for it if you feel contemplative or introspective, but not if you feel sad or hopeless.
