This show is an underrated masterpiece, I hate how much attention it doesn't receive

I don't know if you're everywhere or not, but you are totally right: Scenes is an underrrated masterpiece: script, music, directing, editing and of course acting. I am a devoted Ingmar Bergman fan (I've seen like 12 films of his, including this series) but Hagai Levy's (and Chastain and Isaac's) version is more significant today than bergman's original.

I am back on this masterpiece as I have finished watching the series.
It's unreal!!!!!!!!! ❣️❣️❣️ This series taught me how important it is to have open communication with the person you love. And more so, how important it is to never take them for granted. But more than anything I learnt that love is never enough (this I already knew) but this series teaches you that no matter how much you love or did love someone, compatibility matters. And just in that spilt second (with months & months of suppressed emotions) people can give up on you. People can find solace in someone else.
Mira was too fucked up and so was Jonathan. Yet... after seeing other people they realised despite their differences how perfect they were for each other. Last episode was beautifully tragic. Although they found their way back to each other, the circumstances are still messed up. They accepted the reality and found their solace in what is. If only they were bit dedicated to make the relationship work rather abandoning everything altogether. But I guess, that's how life mostly is... Unpredictable. Loved the show. Recommend it!!!!Sorry for the spoilers lol. Please watch it tho :')❤️

Good editing, but in the end you should have finished with "In the middle of the night, in a dark house, without much fanfare, somewhere in the world". That's what gives meaning to the whole story, both in the (original) Bergman and the (2021) Levy story.

@@clah2 You're welcome! It's very interesting that when Mira tells that, right at the end (last shot of the episode) and Jonathan asks 'what is that?' she replies 'It's from a movie '. But the movie/series is Bergman's Scenes from a Marriage, which is 'their' story. So there is some metareferential stuff, very interesting, that somehow makes this Scenes some kind of parallel fiction to the earlier one. Quite deep, I think.

In the second episode, after confessing her adultery with Poli, Mira is in the shower with her back to Jonathan, and he asks what the bruises are on her back, Mira doesn't answer. I understand that she suffered somatization during the two days she stayed with Poli in the ship's cabin, an act that was predominant in wanting separation and "falling in love", as Jonathan, as a Jew, did not have this practice. Mira, at 15 years old, was already released and one of her boyfriends was the leader of a rock band, who I think was addicted to drugs and abusive sexual practices!!!
