    QEW QEW QEW is her rotation. Q to heal someone, E on an enemy hero, then channel W into an enemy. Don't W an ally unless there are no enemy heroes around generally speaking. If you don't spam Q she's actually one of the most mana efficient healers.

      Came here to say the same thing. Whitemane isn't the kind of healer to keep allies topped off outside of combat; Whitemane is a great pocket healer and is the most effective when in she can throw a couple of Desperate Pleas about and throw out the damage. It's very different to Pally's normal meta-game play style but she's-far and away-my favorite support to play.
      My biggest tip to Whitemane is to play her like a DPS. The heals W gives out via DPS are astronomically higher than the W channel on an ally. He saw for himself that the direct heal only heals a single target but a damaging W can potentially heal the entire team. Every time Pally used W to direct heal an ally and trigger that long CD, it hurt my soul. If you're where you need to be as Whitemane, you should be doing damage with your W (which will heal your ally anyway.) If your W is somehow on cooldown, E is an excellent stopgap that can also heal for a nice amount.
      Given the right talents, you can heal through some mean focus fire on Whitemane while dealing out some solid damage and keeping all your other allies in the fight topped off. I'd also suggest the talent that gives Whitemane a free Zeal talent when you Desperate Plea two allies: it's a great defensive talent (your DPS is healing you) while also allowing you to save mana and start DPSing faster.
      tl;dr Try not to use W to directly heal an ally. E is a good damage filler. Be more confident in trades with enemies. ALL damage Whitemane deals against heroes heals those under Zeal.

      @@benjaminmeyer2139W on ally is good for out of combat healing, but it should be Q -> W (removes stack, full channel) -> Q again for regular cost. This imo is the only con of WM, lack of decent out of combat healing. Also, one thing that Pally does wrong in my opinion is using Ult to increase armor and then trait to increase healing, while it should be other way around, trait to increase healing -> Ult to recover armor lost from trait, but heal more due to trait.

    Whitemane is one of my favorite supports to watch. It's definitely miles away from playing as a Lili in difficulty, but there's never a dull moment in a video with her.

    • @Mihomiti
      @Mihomiti Рік тому +7

      Lili's difficulty is in trying to keep the heals going while also contributing damage and tanking for the team all without getting killed. You can push her super, super hard, but it's all about positioning, aggression, knowing when to back off, and blind timing. There is such a thing as high-end Lili play, remarkably enough.

    Pally, as starting point you did quite well! She is tough! I was a support main focusing on Whitemane and Anna in the upper tiers of ranked before leaving and I am so happy to see you playing her! If i may add a few small pointers, unless you have a crazy heavy cc enemy team (and i mean absurd), zealous spirit is a must take. it allows you to be aggressive and in fights without fear of using your q on yourself. Also, all throughout the game, Auto attacks actually represent a massive portion of your healing. literally on anything in "safe" range. Can't wait to see more of your progress!

    Whitemane has gone from one of my worst characters to one of my best. Here are some lessons I learnt along the way.
    Not using the trait enough, in many cases the 25% spell power makes up for the -15% armour. The spell power increase means an increase in both damage and consequently healing. Unless you are expecting to take a big burst of dmg (such as the triple tap or the sunder) its fairly safe to use it.
    Level 16 shared punishment applies to Clemency as well. Meaning at 14:02 for example if you have placed Clemency on Mura it would have placed zeal on him, heal the normal Clemency amount and chain to Thrall dealing dmg and healing Mura for the same. Its a great way to heal your frontliners while staying further back.
    Using Clemency wayyy too much. Unless I am certain that a teamfight isn't going to breakout soon its better to save the W for the actual fight.
    At level 20 with Guiding Light you can give someone (including yourself) a perma zeal. Its a great option for front liners who like to dive in and commit hard (in this case Mura or Artanis would have been good choices, others include illidan and butcher) and you wouldn't have to chase them to put the zeal. Not to mention it has global range meaning you can put it on someone in the top lane, deal dmg to someone in bot and heal them across the map.

    The main thing to focus on to be good at Whitemane is to NEVER get 3 stacks of desperation unless it's a yolo play and you have no choice. Also get used to using E first followed by W immediately after. There is a talent to extend your attack range which is good and there is one where when you have 2 zeal up you get zeal on yourself. Also keep in mind that clemency cancels 1 stack of desperation. Great game!

    if you use "W" on an enemy, you heal every ally with a Zeal icon. If you use "2" you only heal the person you targeted with 2.
    Other than that, playing her with a dps state of mind, who also happens to heal allies from time to time is a fun way to be a viable healer with Whitemane. :)

    Hey pally, lvl 40 whitemane to give you some tips:
    Your lvl 1 talent makes your E reduce the cd of your w and yes it does still work if you press E then W immediately after.
    Also, mana problems are common (hence her aram winrate is horrible) but, the lvl 10 talent Divine Reckoning, gives you mana back. If you really hate the mana problem, use that, its honestly good enough even if you only hit 1 enemy hero, just drop it on the tank or smthn.
    Also, press D every teamfight unless you know that everyone will focus you. Have fun learning, she's really fun once you get the hang of it!

    I haven't seen anyone mention this, but Whitemane actually has very efficient out-of-combat healing, and can easily heal herself even when there are no enemy heroes to hit. There are two keys to this:
    • W and 1 both remove a stack of Desperation. Super important to know this for mana efficiency.
    • The Lvl 4 talent, Martyrdom, majorly boosts your Q healing output.
    With these two things in mind, Here is the combo to remember:
    1. cast Q
    2. cast 1 on a teammate to reset Desperation
    3. cast Q again
    4. wait for Desperation to reset
    You will do an overall decent amount of healing that costs almost nothing.
    You can use this to heal yourself by self-casting Q, then 1 on a teammate for even a single tick, and then Q yourself again.
    This combo works in ANY situation---whether or not there is an enemy hero within reach---as long as you are standing near a teammate. You should never really be alone on Whitemane anyway, as her waveclear and PvE damage are garbage.
    Remember this combo and you will have an easy time efficiently topping your team up during downtime. With proper mana management and use of sippy, I've had many matches where I didn't have to B even once.

    Whitemane is super fun, but definitely a higher learning curve. If you build her right though, she wins team fights through her healing. Put Zeal on everyone, activate your trait, and divine reckoning the enemy team. If you catch 3+ people in divine reckoning, the healing is insane. Your team literally team wrecks the enemy team and walks out with full health.

    I'm no Whiteman expert, but the Q heal lasts for 4 seconds, but the Zeal it applies (healing from hero damage) lasts for 8 seconds. So you can keep healing an ally even if the Q has fallen off. Also using your W/1 removes a stack off of your mana demand from your Q. So a basic strat in a team fight is to Q, Q then E, W and weave in auto attacks to keep the healing up on you allies. Then repeat. Whitemane is quite action intensive. She has to always be doing hero damage to heal. But if she keep up the pressure her healing is absolutely nuts.

    If I had one tip; use your Aegis more! It's a one minute cooldown, it applies zeal to everybody including yourself, and armor is always best applied when you're only starting to take damage, not when you're near dead. Especially with the unstoppable at level 20, there were multiple fights where the way you saved your ult almost got you killed (and honestly *should have*) but using it a little earlier (especially right when multiple people are getting Thrall rooted together) would've totally negated enemy ults. It's a lot to think about, yep, and the way to handle that is to think less. If you're scared, hit the button that makes you die slower, and if you can chase the 'ult a bunch of people at once' monkeybrain dopamine you're probably getting value out of it usually too.

  • @honza2447
    @honza2447 Рік тому

    There are somewhat hidden mechanics that every good Whitemane player should know about.
    Q is the ONLY ability that costs mana. Everything else including both ults is just cooldown based. E can (and often should) be spammed like crazy.
    W and Clemency remove stack of Desperation when cast, so economic non combat heal goes: Q-Clemency-Q
    Damaging ult maybe sounds meh at the first glance but only until you realize that not only damage==heal but also that this ult returns quite a lot of mana each time enemy hero is hit.
    Place it over the enemy during the teamfight, activate the trait, spam Q on teammates and you.
    Do that correctly and a well placed ult will provide your team with absolutely stupid amount of healing. To be specific: ~100 health each half a second for each enemy hero hit is given to every allied hero with Zeal on him. Hitting three heroes for two seconds? 1200 healing. And that is realistic.
    If you manage to hit the whole enemy team for the complete duration of the ult you get to around 4000 healing. To multiple allies.

    @OfficialWaysam Рік тому

    Throwing out two Q’s then hitting a clemency onto a teammate during down time is a great way to get good heals out. Then you can spam out two more q’s and wait it out without it chunking into your mana that much.
    Whitemane is all about balancing out those charges. I very rarely get into the three stack range. Get two stacks, look to cleanse, get back to two stacks, rinse repeat. Go ham in big teamfights.

  • @devekpaid1039
    @devekpaid1039 Рік тому

    Whitemane is a very difficult healer.
    It is important to know that her only ability that cost many is Desperate Plea (Q); every other ability is only on cooldown. While PvE healing, you usually Plea - Clemency (which also removes a SINGLE stack of desperation) - Plea again. Remember Zeal last longer than your Desperation timer, you can keep one stack of zeal up constantly, pretty easy. While PvP, you want to get as many stacks of zeal as possible out. Whitemane heals for 100% of any damage she does to enemy heroes, including auto attack. usually the combo is Plea - Plea (if you have Zealous Spirit, Whitemane also gets a zeal) - Searing Lash - Inquisition - (and if you feel the need pop her trait which can be used while channeling). Every stack of zeal multiplies your healing: which is think is super important to remember. Whitemane is like a life-steal healer. Illidan heals for 30%, Mal'ganis heals for 45%, Whitemane heals for 100% x Zeal.
    Shared Punishment at 16 is great, if you have good Inquisition targets, and you are not being CC'd out of it. I think Radiance is slept on. it heals at 3 stacks of Desperation, and re-applies Zeal. just Q-Q-Q- and you can have full zeal time (8 seconds) to play DPS, but I also play ARAM, so take that with a grain of salt.
    Lastly, Aegis is nice, but Reckoning gives you mana back based on damage done.

    the best way to advance in mentality when it comes to this hero is to have the same mentality as with karazhim, you are an offensive healer , your W should almost never go on an ally duiring fights (by using the active version of it) REMEMBER you can put your Q on multiple heroes MEANING that if you use your W to heal that way the other targets do not get healed, 2nd. her W does a surprising amount of effective dmg (later on even making said target to deal much less dmg if you pick that talent) + the slow is REALLY punishing, also another thing, at lvl 7 i found that that makeing a targer cc imune does not allways pay for the other talent where if you q 2 heroes you get a free mark on yourself, pick that + the ult that does dmg, and in fights if you use your q properly + your ult that does dmg + your W not to mention your trait D, you can't rly be killed to be honest , but the bottom line is (for me) as soon as i get to 7 i never pick the cc iminity skill (as tempting as it is) regardless of there team comp , because the 3rd self cast of heal/mark on yourself saves you A LOT OF MANA and lets you be AGRESSIVE , and because you heal ALL THE MARKED TARGETS WHEN YOU DO DMG, you can really push them on the back foot early on, it might be hard but she is reworded for playing agressive, less panic Qing and more W on the enamy heroes in fights that's very importnat to get used to

  • @dabdab10
    @dabdab10 Рік тому

    My tip for Whitemane is to consider if you are going to focus on burst healing or sustained healing and go from there. Also Whitemane needs a solid frontline usually. You can always cancel your Desperation cost with Inquisition or Clemency. Don't do 3 stacks unless necessary(someone's dying). Read the talent description.
    With your D ability(Zeal)m, you can get 25% Spell Power = 25% more healing!
    Don't go into team fights when your mana is low!
    Divine Reckoning is for mana refill.
    I can go on and on.

    Whitemane is the team fight healing queen. She is a high skill floor character but once you know her in and out she is very difficult for an opposing team to deal with. Until then expect some of the sweatiest games you've ever played. Zeal heals allies when you do hero damage only, PVE is her weak area.
    Usually I would Q twice to get zeal on 2 team mates that I think are about to take damage dumping the 1 on any third team mate that is taking damage so that If I need the 4th Q I can drop that at reduced mana cost. In the early stages of the match it's still a bit mana heavy but by the middle of the match you should be fine.

I like to get the one that you heal when you heal your zeal target. if they have a heavy frontline I went the flame cross talents. otherwise I tended to do things that made using the holy lazer better. I liked going the aoe ult. that's all I remember. good luck to you.

    I main supports and Whitemane is by far the most stressful indeed. Tyrande comes at a close second, and Malf as a distant third to me.
    I use autoattack build, as it seems easier on my two braincells. Rarely use W because it roots you in place, and I drop E at the start of a fight in hopes I'll get the 2nd hit for the lv 1 autoattack speed talent. Just spread Q's around and auto. Abuse Q + Trait if someone's taking heavy hits. I take the AoE heal + armor ult, mostly because it applies Zeal to everyone in the area. Q + tapping the ally W + Q gives 3 quick low cost zeals, good when a fight is just starting. With the lv 4 AA talent, this lets you start the fight with +60% AA damage.
    At lv 7 I take the 2 desperation gives you zeal talent. I take the similar talent for Malf, mostly because I tend to focus too much on my teammates' health and ignore my own, so being able to heal myself at 0 brainpower cost is neat.
    At 13 again the AA talent, because Zeal lasting only 8 seconds feels very short and that gives a bit more breathing room. Each auto giving an extra 0'75s of zeal is noticeable, specially if you manage to land that 2nd hit of your E for the AA speed. Reducing the cooldown of your activable trait is a nice bonus.
    At 16 I take the 3 stack desperation healing everyone with Zeal. Mostly because it refreshes Zeal on everyone who already has it which again, easy on the brain. Pretty chonky heal too, specially while your trait is active.
    Lastly at 20 I usually take the ult upgrade because it's simple and effective, but if we don't particularly face a CC heavy team I take the infinite zeal on one person and put it either on the main frontline, or a squishy elusive ally (say, Nova or Illidan) who tend to get way out of range of your Q, so they can still receive your heals. Mind that the latter talent has global range, so you could use it to tag someone in an offlane somewhere to send some help their way.
    I'm by no means a Whitemane expert, but this build is easy on my not-getting-any-younger brain, you might find it useful.

    1) Play her as an ADC first and foremost. Sounds counterintuitive, but once you get a feel for her positioning, range, and damage capabilities, the healing will reflect that. She's an aggressive healer and trades well with most heroes.
    2) It's important to use your Q wisely. That means don't bother too much trying to heal people that are constantly out of position and taking tons of unnecessary damage. Focus on people that will utilize your healing effectively and play around YOU.
    3) Completely ignore her trait ability until you feel very comfortable playing Whitemane.
    4) Your 1 ability, the healing beam, resets zeal stacks. With this in mind, you can use Q - 1 - Q (or QQ - 1-QQ) to do quite a bit of healing without having to attack enemy heroes. If nothing else, you can activate your trait to boost this healing.

    Whitemane is a fun but stressful character. It's always a wild ride with her. Just keep your Zeal up as much as you can and pop the W if you have more than 1 stack of Desperation. Personally, I go with the talent that applies Zeal to you if you have 2 Stacks of Desperation so I try to wait until then but be sure to find your flow with it.

    Gotta think as whitemane as dps. Q is to give some one zeal. Besides that damage damage damage. Starting at level 10. If your allies hold thier ground. Whiteman can heal about all damage.
    I've seen a whitemane, morales and varian comp where varian used speed banner and morales would stimulate whitemane. Could not kill them with a 5v3. Whiteman ended with top damage that game.

    i don't understand why ppl think this hero is hard to play. your mana is literally the least of your worries, you drop zeal on someone and proceed to land your E and W as consistently as possible.
    when ppl take heavy damage you pop that D and literally start going aggressive or you use D+spam Q which.... with the right build makes you/ally's physically unkillable without CC.
    whitemane becomes a monster if you can consistently land the second half of her E off CD.

    • @AnimeVampire234
      @AnimeVampire234 Рік тому

      btw when i say you don't needa worry about mana i mean... you can literally be mmo a whole fight and still keep everyone alive without much issue IF and only IF you can you land the second half of her E.

    its honestly a myth that she has mana problems, cause literally only q cost mana. you can actually for example in that first fight still perfectly heal someone if you 1 them then auto attack and lash. then you just wait for the q manacost to go down to heal someone else. you will almost always have mana for a first cast q, so its usually better to just wait it out rather than backing at least

    • @ThePeaOfSea
      @ThePeaOfSea Рік тому

      also, if you can't think of a use for d, i use it mostly for off-combat healing, while doing camps with someone or something on larger maps. akso good to use it before the armor r, or even the damage r really

    • @ThePeaOfSea
      @ThePeaOfSea Рік тому

      also also, man I love Whitemane, you can out-trade pretty much anybody with your build here if they don't have a stun especially with r up(remember to self q if no r), she's so good dude!

  • @pheonyro
    @pheonyro Рік тому

    Don't focus too much on her q pally, you mainly just want to use it to get zeal then use everything else to heal the person and if you need to heal the whole team at the same time pop ult to get zeal on everyone and save mana.
    Once you learn to not rely on what you think is the heal for every other healer shes a great healer that can dish out damage too :)
    Also personally i love the talent harsh discipline if you press e then w it pretty much guaranteed roots them cos w slows, sets up a kill for your team at best and lets you full channel w to heal your target at worst.

    Autos heal your zealed allies as well, you weren't autoing enough between your spells. You also should just get in the habit of popping passive before your mana dumping, the damage debuff isn't that big of a deal unless you are 5 manned, and you will probably die anyway in that case.

    I wish hots worked on macs. These days there is a fatal bug that has prevented me from playing for a couple years. (Like imagine if the entire geometry of the map disappeared and started smearing any character movement) I still cherish all of the fun memories I had in this game though
    Whitemane has always been the healer I liked most design-wise from hots despite brightwing being the one I played the most. How you use her w is all about choices and positioning. Whenever it is safe to do so, channeling w on an enemy with zeal on your allies is better. The healing ult is more beginner friendly to allow you to set up zeal without having planned it out. However, the best whitemanes I have noticed, will always take the damage ult and are simply really good at setting up zeal and positioning to do both damage and healing.

    Am I any good with Whitemane? No, most likely not. But I love playing her. She's a hoot. Pally, I see you are using my favorite skin of hers. The ready-up animation to search for a game is just the best. I feel like even though Whitemane's mana can dip low easily, it recovers quickly. Could be my imagination.
    I do Pity the Frail (1), Martyrdom (4), Zealous Spirit (7) so I can cast Zeal (Q) on 1 person then Ally Channel a 2nd which gives me a 3rd free Zeal which ups the healing more. I think. It's been a while since I've played Whitemane. Or Q,Q,W,D so that's 3 Q's applied (free one for me), you're channeling on an enemy, and added healing with the trait.
    Okay, I'll stop typing and watch the video. I look forward to more Whitemane!
    Edit: I tend to use my trait liberally. Not being targeted? Channel on an enemy or ally and hit "D" for major healing. Anyone lower 50% health during a fight? Trait and abilities.

    Whitemane tip: Play someone else. >D
    She's a lot of alternating defence and offence as you learned. Zeal up allies, punish enemies, repeat. Her offensive abilities are very low cost or free so you can keep that going fairly easily. You just need to remember not to spam your heal and focus on being offensive.
