Murky was one of my first favorite heroes. He's just got such a fun and unique playstyle.
And I love Octograb, simply for the level 20 talent that deals a shitload of damage, "...and a shark, too!"
Love assassin murky build
Murky will always be my favorite hero. The uniqueness of him and the skill gap you can see really makes him fun. his infinite murlocs is also really fun if your able to use it against a fort or nexus.
There's nothing like backdooring when your team is defending your core, and completely winning a game with a minute and a half long murloc march that goes completely uninterrupted.
@@Sweet_Reverb happened to me once. The enemy was taking the boss and all the mercenaries. I started to back door and they just didn't send anyone back to stop me. Best game I've had so far.
This was fun to watch! Alarak is my favorite character, and the Alarak v Murky dynamic is always very interesting to me. It's almost like playing a single playet game, with Alarak as the boss and Murky as the player. The Alarak can kill murky a thousand times and get more and more imposing, but if Murky can persevere, he only needs to kill Alarak once to bring him tumbling down.
Really surprised you didn't talk about Murky's history considering how much he's changed over the years. Remember when he was first released and he didn't even count as a 1/4 kill when he died with his egg up? So people were just diving buildings to use up tower shots and destroy buildings. Then the octograb assassin build was huge for years. Haven't really played him since his new rework but he seems to be in a weird jack of all trades spot.
Or how pufferfish used to be immune to spells and took...I want to say 3 autos to kill rather than having HP.
@@Tachii31 yep it was 3 auto attacks which made it super inconsistent to kill. A character like stukov would have a hard time but tychus could destroy it easily
Murky is so good, I’ve seen Macro Murky who is never there for team fights and micro who is always there. On towers of doom you need to do a little of both cause you can’t steamroll.
Weird every single Murky I get is never there for teamfights and also gets nothing on the map because we are down 1 player the whole game

And on tower of doom a legit Murky strat is dual laning with Murky and 4 man pressuring one lane. Other team will be overwhelmed mowt of the time.

I love Murky. Such a fun character and he’s the ultimate troll against the enemy when played correctly.

That's exactly what my build was when the Murky rework went live. Toxic buildup is too strong, when you have the extra HP to be in the fight longer. Also your OG alpha murky video is what got me sold on HotS.

I ran into a very similar issue when I tried Murky last, I ended up with a very similar build!!
Everyone is hyper focused on the Pufferfish so it helped a lot.

One thing that may be very useful to learn with Murky is that if you selfcast pufferfish it will drop instantly. For example with octo if you W R Tracer/Valla normally, they will press E and not get hit, but it you get near them alt+W wait a liiiiiitle bit R it will blow in time of octo. Rly good skill to learn i have 62% WR with Murky, learned him from Fan. But I had to come to this my self :) But playing Murky is a pain if you don't have competent team and you are vs 4-5 assassins. Always octo vs good players, murlocs only if it's impossible to get octo value or if they are tough 3+ melee.

One thing you can do that works sometimes is standing on the pufferfish so they attack you instead of the pufferfish

I've been a murky main forever and i love egg hunt!! it's the best level 1 talent and its useful against towers too it takes shots and you can push harder with it. also good vs siege camps. I loved this vid! keep it up

I use the same Murky build, except for the last three talents. At 13, I go for healing bubble so I can stay in the fight while repositioning. At 16, I go for slime at puffer location so I don't have to wait for the cooldown for my second slime to deal more damage (Goes amazing with Living the Dream quest). Lastly at 20, I either go with infinite March or shorter slime cooldown so I can either slime all the time or just meme. Big Tuna Kahuna is fine, but I tend not to pick it simply due to the increased respawn timer. Other than that, Murky is pretty fun and one of my favorite characters to play. Thanks for the video 👍.
Can't wait till the Probius episode. He's a character I felt like playing for so long, but could never get myself to play him. Probably because I didn't construct additional pylons.

Love Murky, so fun to play. I'm kind of partial to the Slime build, myself. Plus Murky is just adorable.
Merc camps also attack your eggs for extra damage and to mitigate damge your can do a some setup where you place your fake eggs next to them and they will attack them and take damage
My favorite combo is slippery while wet and then grabbing the bubble heals at 13 because I can just slip in and out of most situations and it's awesome
Bribe is a trap. FYI you can use fake eggs on towers and buildings. Minions won't target them anymore, but buildings will. This action can give a little more damage and time when taking a building, because it acts like another minion in the wave.

1:38 That's not the taunt that you upgraded, just the circle under your character.
To "upgrade" a taunt, you need to reach level 15,25,50,75 and 100.
Well in a kind of way its a taunt, its a taunt for the enemies seeing that u have the golden cirlce under ur champ meaning ur at least lvl 15 with the booi
@@Jemme95 Sure, it's a trophy of sorts, but if the game has a command called "taunt", it's best to use a different term to avoid confusion. Unfortunately, this is Pally we're talking about here.

There is a little tech with murky that can help your pufferfishes survive. If you stand above them exactly, enemy heroes won't be able to click on the pufferfish to auto attack it, because hots gives priority to attacking heroes.
To make it harder/impossible for enemies to kill the fish, you have to move to fish location after casting but but before it appears, and stay on top of it, that way they literally can't click it until it's too late.
no healing on march, talent says "damage from basic abilities"... i always liked healing bubble in combo with the big tuna cause the heal is percentage based

I agree with Pally about the pressure of getting the most out of fishy deal talent, it just takes the fun out of the game for me, ive been using fish eye to grant my team vision and im loving it, if the enemy team destroy it I just put another one, and they lose time doing this, the egg has so much health IMO.
44-9-1 now following your builds. A second great build in a row. I did feel like I could do some of everything just like you described. This isn't a hero I play much so I was hoping you had something good here and this build definitely delivered. Going in without any preconceived notions of how I like to play the hero definitely helped here. Gotta say though the standout talent was slippery when wet at 7 because it let me dive in to pick off weak heroes. I think this was my first MVP game on Murky so I'll definitely be sticking with this build and playing more of this hero in the future.
Aside from 7, I run the same build when I can't pufferfish. I grab Time to Krill since it makes Murky into more of a duelist with the constant healing/DoT and slow. 20 is Between Big Tuna and Inky depending on the amount of burst they have.
I stopped maining Murky when they changed him to much some years ago, but boy was it a good time for funs, I miss when pufferfish was untargetable
The trick to use bribe murky is to double soak! If you are against another solo laner you just need to be on mid when he is top and vice versa

The vision egg is such a delightful fuck you to Valeera and Nova but you really have to babysit Eggsy. I love murky though.

I had so much fun with murky that one week where he was free, I dedicated myself to ever more and more dangerous split pushing and made it so if the enemy ever tried to 4v5 my team they'd lose a tower or a merc camp for it, and then at level 20 I took the infinite march of the murlocks and I must have channeled that for a minute straight inside the enemy base, my team poking forward and any time the enemy team tried to stop us they'd get kited into my choke point and have the funniest "where did my hp go?!?!" reaction to it, I got so many kills
the point of pufferfish build - is to rotate on the map and not sit one lane. Especially not solo lane.
Get two slimes, throw fish, mount up and move the other lane.
If enemy stays to kill your fish and then follows you - he wouldnt make it in time to kill your second fish on other lane. And if he follows you - then you get stacks on first lane.
i miss 75% damage reduction on lvl 20 talent... you became inmortal with heal on damage lol, i remember soloing a lot of champs at that moment lol
Took me 8 games to get a win as Murky following your build. That was so rough, always up against alarak, butcher duo. Egg hunt gets hard to keep up with when losing towers. Having in a tank in a comp seem to made a huge difference, just never get tanks til that 8th game.
Egg Hunt is the single worst talent in this build. In my experience in most games when you're not getting value from the bribe you're doing it wrong. And if you truly get countered map hack egg is still the superior choice.

I feel like u play the bribe/W build if u play on a big map where u can solo lane A LOT. This game your talents where good and much better for the map

Murky will be the Pinnacle of all moba characters, a character meant to annoy the enemy to death is perfect in my eyes.
I love Murky, I just wish they would rework Fishy Deal in some capacity. I generally don't have a ton of trouble getting stacks mid-game once everyone's decided they're going to 4v5 mid for 30 minutes, but it's just tedious, even when you're alone in a lane, it's just not a particularly fun ability, it feels like a chore. Because of that, I only bring it on maps where camps are particularly powerful or if there are a lot of them, maps like Alterac I'll forgo it since I can usually take camps out really quickly.
Is he the best designed hero in concept and execution in Heroes?

I don’t agree with the damage causes healing. I always go rejuv bubble, since if you pop it right the other player often times will retreat since they are usually taking a lot of damage at that point.
I've always considered octograb murky's only ult. 40 sec cooldown, almost always results in a kill (especially with the pufferfish assassin build). The cooldown for march is what kills it for me. Don't get me wrong it's a very strong zoning ability but a 100 sec cooldown is too much imo for what it offers.
Murky is intentionally matched againt alarak and butcher.
Fun fact: when you pick Big Tuna, you actually grow larger

Love Murky, but facing Alarak AND Guldan AND Greymane is an oof.
Until you get the grab, then that entire team looks juicy.
Still hope they add a grown up Murloc into the game someday! Would be awesome.

I had a match I want to put into a frame and hang on a wall, on this map last week.
Ranked, I was chosen by the crown. As I don't like and don't know who to ban (after all, I'm just bronze 5-4) - I just skip the first ban, ban who teammates asked and skip third. Our morales starts "you see who want to be losing", and over the course of the game her irritation grows somewhat. But she still plays and plays good.
I wanted to pick bruiser - picked between Gazlow and Sonia, towards gazlow. It probably wasn't the best one - they had Johanna and good licking Dehaka, who dodged my bomb stuns, and I had no escape.
Anyway, after our team got bedeaded and was respawning, somebody pinged that they were going boss. Surely they were. Don't know how that happened, but our tank shoo'd the enemy team away towards their base, and I got a lucky stun on Dehaka. And stolen the boss!
I was pushing towards stealing their side's activatable tower the whole match and it was exactly what we needed. Our team got one keep, and won the match with just 2 base points remaining, from 2-10. Awesome, everything worked towards the close win.
