- A Pennsylvania television anchor has died. Emily Matson worked at Erie News Now for nearly twenty years. “Emily was a shining light in our newsroom, delivering news with a passion and love she had for the Erie community and Northwest Pennsylvania,” a statement reads on the station’s website. A cause of death has not yet been revealed. Matson was 42.

I'd like a follow up about the suicide. Was she divorcing or losing her job? Did she have a terminal disease? Was her child in trouble? Was she being blackmailed? What made her go stand on a railroad track and do this. She had a great job, family and success. So, what happened?
They said she suffered from depression.

That she stood in front of a train? Trying to be respectful I'd imagine.
I realize suicide is still taboo to talk about, however I wish the media would dive into this some more. Like, what brought an extremely successful woman, who apparently just got married in October, to jump in front of a train? Finding these answers could help many other people and take away the stigma of seeking mental health treatment.

😮🥺😣 Im from Colorado but keep up with news from other states like NY and FL because I have family in those states. So I watched her a lot. I wonder why she died because she didn’t seem sick AT ALL. Always vibrant and up beat such a great news anchor. Always precise the best possible. Loved her reaction to whatever news she presented. It’s so weird that she’s now gone not believable in ones sense of her 🤦🏽♀️ I offer my deepest condolences to her friends and family members. 😢

The incident was reported at 12:45 a.m. Monday in the area of Eaton and Tow roads, according to Erie County 911."

So so sad mostly because she was too young. She didn’t get to understand that others go through the same thing and this too would’ve passed 🤦🏽♀️
@@miriamschiro8585No. For many people depression doesn't pass. It's not just about feeling sad. It's a chemical imbalance that needs medication but those with severe cases even that might not work. Like country star Naomi Judd she had severe depression for yrs and tried all sorts of treatments but her depression was resistant to it. She finally couldn't take it anymore and offed herself at 76.

she was so beautiful and full of life, what could have happened. We had a reporter in D area that got smile eye surgery and did the same thing after the pain wouldn't go away. She was young too
