this ending though.... that last moment where they stood in silence as Ray left, then they all went and tore down ray's house. I mean, I know Ray was still in the room with them as this recording was going on, but god. I wonder if they felt anything tearing that dirt house down... It's going to be SO weird not seeing that house. (also, will they take down the one in Dark Achievement City? what about the property on Monopoly? he's just too much of a part in this!! GAHHHH)

You know how lots of people are making the "Who's Ray" joke or something like that whenever Ray's mentioned in videos? I started wondering something after rewatching this video. This came out almost a year ago, so how long will it be until people are asking that question seriously? Like, people who have recently become fans and have only watched recent videos won't know who he is, so it's just a matter of time, right?
As a fan since the beginning that thought is fucking with me like as much as I love Jeremy people not knowing rays glory as the og lad makes me sad.

Life keeps moving, This was the end of the golden age, the start of the silver age in which the content was different but just as good, and now they are in the bronze age that is just so far removed from what this is. It is not a bad thing, but it is just different, and we all grew up. The world is moving, and we can all look back with fondness, but nostalgia is always sad as our lives are archived actively, so we have a new level of phenomenon.
I do not know who else will read this in the future, but know we love these people and love each other. You do not need to hate the past. Love everything and just add more love. You never need to hate something because you love other things, and there is always room for new things in your life. Please keep growing, and you never need to forget.

This is why Ryan's surprise forced departure for being a predator caused so many issues; they had a time where Ray was leaving, so he wouldn't feature in too many videos after. But Ryan's removal meant that they had to scrap basically every video they had planned after, because he featured so predominantly in them.

when ray left i noticed myself not watching ah as much as the dynamic of the group changed without ray. The rest of the group still had a lot of great content produced after his departure but that og 6 will never be beat. It makes sense to why Ray left, RT was changing, AH was changing and Ray had to do what was right for him. With the current state of the company and all the drama that happened, it was the best decision he could have made

Really sad at the time, but looking back, this was a good move for everyone. Ray was my favorite cast member at the time, but after rewatching 1-150, it's clear that a change was necessary. His heart wasn't in it, which contributed to the tone of these already sour videos (constant crashes, rehashed ideas, painfully long and drawn out contests). The crew wasn't having fun. Minecraft Let's Play's have their seasons, some good, some boring. But the current crew has been able to persevere and find new ideas, many of which I enjoy. Thanks for the entertainment in this group, Ray. Glad you're doing better on Twitch. And thank you Achievement Hunter for carrying on through today. It's been an enjoyable 12 years so far.
I'd trade one Ray for all of the new crew we have now in a heartbeat. Jeremy alone brings way more to AH than Ray ever did because he actually wants to be there.

@@distantignition he wanted to be there until the end, and it was quite obvious he wanted to be there, if you look back and watch the old videos they would play minecraft and gta for hours upon hours, which would result in Minecraft crashing constantly and there was only so much you can do in gta. Remember this was when they had set schedules like and shows like GO and vs etc. After he left is when they made changes

skinnyzi12 I know. When you are famous on youtube, you cant just quit. He broke that rule. I feel like I have lost a close family member. He was by far my favorite member of achievement hunter. Now he is gone and I don't think anyone they put in his place will fill the void in my heart. I have many videos that I have not watched yet with him in it but I will not enjoy them. They are like his memorial. Every time I hear his voice or see him in the videos, I will be reminded of the day he left. Things will not be the same when (or if) I go back and watch them. In fact, I don't think things will ever be the same again.
Btw, my grandfather died a week ago and I didn't feel nearly as bad then as I do now.

I think the saddest thing is just how much you can see that Geoff cares and wants this to go well for Ray.
....Not quite sure why everyone's getting sad....Ray's still going to be a part of X-Ray and Vav. He's still going to appear in AH videos from time to time. He's still going to have his talent out there, just in the form of streaming over at twitch.
I don't think people really realize just how burnt out Ray is on the content that is being produced here at AH, which is practically the same thing, over and over again. I rarely even watch their Minecraft stuff anymore, simply because originality has died in their Minecraft stuff. And, instead of joining the community of actual Minecraft creators and players, and playing the stuff that they make - and the only thing they EVER ask for is to have their stuff linked in descriptions, they continue to make boring crap.
So, no. I'm not sad to see Ray go. I'm excited, because we get to see him streaming, A LOT. We get to see him make content that HE ENJOYS. And, the only way we, the viewers, will EVER enjoy the content that is being produced by content creators is if those creators are enjoying what they do. This is something I learned a long ass time ago from the Mindcrack community. This is the reason why many Minecrafters, like the Mindcrack community, take sporadic breaks from Minecraft. Because they lose that enjoyment from it. They need a break. So, they move on to new content. But, that's the overall problem with AH and Ray - Ray has no control over the content that HE will enjoy creating, because he is not in charge.
***** Just from a personal opinion, I can totally see why people are getting sad from Ray leaving, hell even I'm sad to see him go. We all understand that he will be making content that he enjoys. He's apart of the AH family for a good while, admittedly I discovered RT from AH. Ray was one of the easiest people to get a connection with. Just from being super chill and very entertaining he had quite the following.

I've watched some of Ray's streams already and will continue to do so, but it's not the same magic as the chemistry he shared with everyone at RT. Nothing can ever replace that feeling.
Hendrix Boss No, he's been pretty open about his dislike of the content, specifically Minecraft, lately. Streaming full time is different from playing video games for a company like RoosterTeeth/Achievement Hunter. With RT/AH, he is required to play what his boss tells him to play, because it is his job. He is not the boss of the content he makes. He just makes content and throws it out, regardless of if he enjoys the content.
With fulltime streaming, he works for himself. He is his own boss. He can produce content that he enjoys. He can genuinely talk to his fans. He can do, pretty much, whatever the fuck he wants to do. (I personally enjoy streaming with no pants on. It's nice.)
So, he had stability and a better income working Achievement Hunter. What OTHER reason is there, other than he was bored with the content that he was making and he wants to go on his own in order to produce the content that HE enjoys?

I remember back in 2017 after I had gotten in a fight at school when I found out about Let’s Play. I was super interested, and watched the old Minecraft videos nonstop. After a while though, I stopped watching around “King Michael,” and went back to restart and catch up a couple months later. I watched these 6 idiots play fun and creative Let’s Plays during the toughest moments in my life, and one day, I saw a comment that said, “I miss Ray.” After reading through the comments, I finally discovered that Ray does indeed leave Let’s Play: Minecraft, and I was determined to watch as much as I could before I had to watch this episode. Team Lads, Nice-Dynamite, and X-Ray and Vav are my favorite teams in this series, and old Ray was the funniest things during the game. Minecraft has become absolutely, heart-breakingly, HORRIBLE, and tears come to my eyes when they relive their old memories and monuments, as I see that this game used to be fun, entertaining, and enjoyable to watch. Sadly, we can’t change the fact that Ray no longer felt that way, and I’m dreading watching the next episodes. I heard that Jeremy takes Ray’s place, and I’m too scared to continue. Ray is one of my favorites, and I’m sad to see the text “BrownMan left the game” for the last time. Since I’m not caught up, I’m not ready to go on without Ray, but I’ve lost too many in my life, and Ray’s just another one that I’ll have to move on from....
Watching this in 2023 makes me feel old 😂 I’m only 28 but I remember watching this the day it dropped. I miss these days. So many memories watching these guys. I still watch rays streams but with the rotating cast at AH I kinda fell off
I just realized something...
When they were all saying goodbye...
For a moment..
I had imagined that within the pixel boundaries of Achievement City, that they existed in their own little world.
As each day grew by, they found others to share that world with, create towers, create and mine cities with endless endeavors.
But in this one..
For almost a shred of time that I can consider a second, I saw six guys whom in their world, are letting go one of their own.
And for a whole time, after having re-watched more and more Let's Play Minecraft.. Like something they knew was going to happen, but never wanted to talk about.
In their own little world, they grew and thrived.
And later on down the road, a person leaves, but not out of sorrow, but of choice.
