Happy new year Drew! I'll do my best, but I have been much more busy in the latest years...but it's most likely that I'll release a couple more videos in the coming weeks, so, stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Thank you Mark! It was my first time there and I wasn't dissapointed! Of course, I took Highway 401 in this area many times towards Toronto, but it's nothing like taking the Thousand Islands bridges & Parkway along the river. Happy new year and thanks for watching!
Thank you Daniel! Fall colours are always adding a little touch of ''magic'' on my videos! The first border I crossed was in 2007 when I got my first car. It was at the junction of Route 133 in Québec and Interstate 89 through the state of Vermont! Thanks for watching and Happy new year!
Sacrebleu ? Last Friday (July 5th), I worked on a cottage, east of the Thousand Island International Bridge. I loaded the equipment in Ivy lea, "sailed" to an unnamed island ( the next one, north of Huckleberry Island). Once done, on my way back to the 401, I forgot to get off at Rockport exit (2:45). I had to turn around in the parking lot, seen @3:00. Small world, isn't it ?
Beautiful section to travel, and also shows the lush greenery we're treated to in this part of the world. It is too bad so many people take for granted what is right here, Ontario and its neighboring areas are great places.
That's what I have noticed when I came back home after visiting Texas in 2019 : it's so lush / green up here...it's not just green, it's INTENSE green. We are so lucky to have this! Thanks for watching!
Yes absolutely! When I reached the US part in this video, we are pretty much at the foothills even if you don't see the hills from there. Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much Luigi! Are you from Italy? What are the differences that you can see on our roads compared to Europe? What do you like on them? Happy new year 2022! 🎉
Hi, Happy New Year and thanks for your interest! Yes, I’m Italian and in my opinion the biggest differences between Italian highways and American ones are the size and radius of curvature. Firstly, leaving aside the number of lanes (which I know to be very large in urban areas) I already find the size of the lanes itself much larger, perhaps also because of larger cars… Secondly, the curves. Having much more space in America, I think it’s possible to make tracks with softer curves even in the mountains (note that some Northern America national roads are straighter than some Italian highways) while here (at least in Italy) many highways are winding (such as A7, A6, A26, old A1 Bologna-Florence etc.). I think this factor is also caused by the Italian bureaucracy for expropriation of lands, as can be seen from the route of A1 between Florence and northern Rome (‘60s), which is straight but with sporadic quite narrow curves (precisely to limit the use of cultivated land, which would be greater with wide radii of curvature). Finally, I know that we are “famous” for our endless series of highway tunnels 😂, while I notice that in America tunnels are much rarer.
@@luigiparisi5841 Grazie! We should do tunnels more often! I don't always like the idea of ''cutting mountains in two'' like me often do : ( ! @@FreewayFranks Grazie a te!😁 Italy will welcome you with open arms and will be happy to show you the best it has to offer! For the “mountain cuts” I totally agree with you, the territory would also be more respected with tunnels.👌🏼
Share it on Ontario’s Road Group! 😀 During summer 2020, I crossed the bridge into Hill Island. I wanted to walk on the bridge to take photos of Saint Lawrence River, but sadly the sidewalk was closed due to COVID at the time.
Hey Dennis! I shared the video as you asked! One day, I'll try to do a walk on the bridges aswell. I am a roadgeek, but I am also someone who really enjoy having a walk here and there! Thanks for watching!
Absolutely! I wonder what they gonna do? Are they going to keep the old bridges as an ''historic road'' and make a deal/agreement with the USA and built a freeway bypass that will match with the existing I-81 in NY and H-401 in Ontario? Who knows!
What they can do is something like this the Northbound Bridge carries I-81 American Legion Highway ON-137 North to 401 macdonald-cartier freeway New build is the Southbound ON-137 I-81 American Legion Highway Watertown Syracuse Binghamton,NY Scranton Wikes Barre Harrisburg, PA. That way it resembles I-84 newburgh-beacon Bridge original I-84 West 1980 span Eastbound I-295 Delaware Memorial Bridge South 1951 Northbound 1968.
Yay, you’re back! I hope you are able to do lots more of these in 2022! 👍😁👍

I know this bridge only too well!!! My concern is that it may need additional structures to cope with the increased traffic.
