  • In this video, Fender’s Eugene Edwards introduces you to the Fender Redondo Player acoustic electric guitar. You’ll learn about its features, the guitar’s history, and get to see (and hear) why it’s a great guitar for beginners, as well as for more experienced players. Acoustic guitar has been a foundational instrument for a number of genres -- from folk to country. The Redondo Player gives new guitarists room to grow along with their instrument.
As one of the top choices for new guitarists to learn on, the Redondo Player has a slim neck, similar to that of an electric guitar, making it easier for beginner guitarists (or even players with smaller hands) to navigate the fretboard. Not only does it offer the rich resonance of an acoustic guitar, but players also have the option to plug the Redondo Player in and amplify its sound for recording or playing a live show -- still retaining the beauty of its natural acoustic sound. Its built-in tuner makes it perfect for beginner guitarists just developing their ear, as well as seasoned players who need to stay in-tune while playing.

This guitar is perfect for the electric “Lead” players. The transition between sets is seamless. I have a Martin D28 and a Guild 12 string as well. This is not them. This is perfect for recording, gigging or cutting through a mix. Surprisingly, I prefer the feel of this to any of my acoustics. The action is amazing, and the neck is fast and comfortable. I don’t even discuss price points. No musician ever in the middle of a set thought as out what an instrument cost. That said, this is a great quality guitar at an extremely budget friendly price point

I have the Sunburst version of this guitar and visually it's a beautiful guitar.
Sonically it's a bit boxy sounding acoustically, which is surprising considering the size of the guitar.
I have the Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat and that guitar in my opinion is a better sounding guitar though certainly a smaller, concert, body size.
The Redondo definitely sounds decent plugged in however and I've used it through my Fender Acoustasonic 40 and Fishman Loudbox Mini.
One thing I love about the guitar is it has a very playable neck, which makes it less fatiguing on my fretting hand, and it has a nice cutaway which are the main reasons I keep it. It's a fun guitar to practice with and I leave it on the stand in my office from time to time and I'll use it when I take little guitar breaks. But it does go into a hard case when I'm done and I recommend a Humidipak or some other humidification system if you live in a place with cold winters where the heat is cranked all day.
For the money or a little bit more, I have a Walden G630 CE which is light years better in every way and a Breedlove ECO Discovery S Concert Cedar-African Mahogany which is also better. They are each about $100 more but significantly better instruments. Both also have cutaways and Fishman electronics.
Just my honest opinion... and again I still enjoy playing it and practicing on it and will likely keep it

Hey thanks for the suggestions - is the playability of the 2 mentioned guitars also as good ? Because of the small neck on this one

The classic has solid back and sides. Both have a solid top. The player, however has laminated back and sides. Tonally, the difference is negligible. Oddly, I favor the tone of the player. It has a great attack and is very punchy. The classic is slightly warmer, but that’s not what I bought this guitar for. The player is also more durable and less effected by humidity levels and temperature changes

Had one and really like it until a friend draw a couple of black lines on the pickguard as a joke (as if it were pubes ) , after that I could never saw it the same way and every time i used it I just giggle like a kid, end up selling it and bougth a taylor (a deal I couldn't pass on). I wonder who design that pickguard 😂

sounds like a shoebox with a neck bolted to it, save the $200 and put that toward a decent guitar like a Fender FG-800 or FS-800, or spend a little more and get a Seagull

Sound is subjective. I love the sound. The only acoustic I own that I don’t like is my Seagull S6. It sounds muddy and dark to me. Sound is subjective
