    Hello Terry, thank you for this introduction to HDR. This is very good for highlight. But is it only to experience on-screen? Sorry to say that the EXPORT does not work with Lrt Classic 13.2. I have tried to export with AVIF or JPGXL in HDR sRVB in HDR P3 and HDR Rec. 2020 but it does not work. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

      Same problem here. Tried everything. When I take a screenshot it was the closest result I got from what I see with the HDR option on. Idk why they gave us this feature if they do not manage to export the result properly.

    I'm a bit confused by this. I edit my photos in Lightroom for several different kinds of output- web, print, email etc. If I used HDR to edit a photo, will it create issues (like blown highlights) if I upload it to Instagram, email it someone, put it on my website for viewing on mobile and other devices, etc? I don't want to have to edit photos twice - once for SDR for general use on the web, etc. and a second time in HDR when I know for sure it will only be seen on HDR capable devices. Thanks for the video - a further explanation would be greatly appreciated regarding when you would want to use the HDR workflow and when you would not.

    • @KrisCortez
      @KrisCortez 9 місяців тому +5

      The beauty of gain maps is that both renditions of the SDR and HDR image are saved into one file. So, no, your highlights wont be blown if you send it to someone or on another platform because it will just use the SDR rendition if their image reader doesnt support HDR.

    I been really excited about this as I've been practicing a bit more with bracket shooting, and now it seems I don't want to look back at single exposure anymore, haha. Now if we could get a little more in depth look at how to and understand the HdR visualize a bit more that would be great. There's also another tool in there that says SDR edit as well that I can use while editing in HdR that I'm a bit confused about. Excellent video thank you

    Great info, thanks. Ideally, we'd be able to edit using the new HDR feature and convert it into a standard SDR jpeg, while maintaining the same look. Is Adobe working on that specifically? Or are we waiting for more devices and applications to be able to display HDR files in order for HDR images to be shared and appreciated by others?

    I photographed a dog then used generative fill on the background promoting van gogh oil painting. Import back into lightroom then clicked on the hdr and that opened up the highlights in the paint, looked even better using that feature and this was not a merged hdr photo, just 1 shot then gen fill. Good job Adobe.

    Great feature if it worked when exporting. Im also using a MacBook Pro, but when I followed your steps Lightroom exports the image to a folder on my desktop as an "Original Image.jxl document". When you right click on "Open" , a pop up window says "Search the App Store for an application that can open this document or choose an existing application on your computer". Then I click on " Search the App Store", but then another pop up windows says "Not Available/ This app is currently not available in your country or region." Im in Australia. What's the work around so I can export the HDR Lightroom image and have it saved in my folder as an image and not a document. I need your help please.

    Ok, but what type of monitor is enabled for this HDR function? I have a Benq SW271 HDR (for professional use), but this function is not supported on Lightroom. The histogram HDR appears red and not enabled. (I work with windows, not with apple).
    It's a function that would be convenient, but I can't have spent €1400 for a professional monitor only two years ago, and now made it obsolete by this HDR function

    Why does LR not have generative fill yet? Or better yet Batch Generative Edit?

    • @diariodefoto
      @diariodefoto 9 місяців тому +1

      Because Lr is not made for photo manipulation, just photo edit. Adobe is expanding Lr to do some advance edits like removing objects and masking with layers so we don't need to open photoshop just to make this changes, but the core remains: We edit on Lr, manipulating on Ps.

    • @alexdossey
      @alexdossey 8 місяців тому

      @@diariodefotoI don’t normally comment but I would have to disagree Simply because Photoshop is also the most powerful tool adobe has for All sorts of color and lighting corrections as well. Not just heavy “manipulations”. I still use Lightroom sometimes but to be honest, it’s mostly a cataloging and viewing platform for me now. In fact I get much better results with editing in photoshop With the occasional use of ACR.

      I know, it's useless. I exported 30 photos in both JPG XL and AVIF as he said to do in the video, and no other programs can open or use the files in either format. Video editors like Da Vinci Resolve can't open or use it so having this feature is pointless. The only way to use it is to take a screen grab of it in Lightroom using the snipping tool.

    why in landscape photography is that sad leaving clipped shadow? I don’t want to be unpleasant, but I really don’t understand why, showing details under bridge, (as in this case of the pic in the video)would it be better for the final result. It Is not the point of interest of the picture. So why building up an extension of the histogram that allow me to work as an unnatural scene? Shades helps to conceal that part of the scene that isn’t important, and let viewers concentrate their eyes into highlights or illuminated subjects. Chiaro-Scuro. 🙄
