SAME ugh The best way to stabilize is to use a gimbal, or wide angle + tripod, where gimbal performs outstandingly but adds a lot of volume and weight to carry around 😭
The canon produces far nicer images and nicer video and has a better image crop cause of the type of lens. It does not have a flash shoe (to put an external mic in). The sony has way better auto-focus and in-built mic is way better. It also has a flash shoe which you can use to put an external mic in. Man, if only these camera's had a baby.
Wow I thought the g7x mark iii looked really good by itself before this video. But when put side by side next to the Sony camera it almost looks grainy!! Thank you, totally sold on Sony and so glad I did my research

I have been using a Canon G7x Mark ii and I’ve been loving it and how wonderful the video quality is and the microphone. I have been working on my UA-cam channel for over three years and it is such an experience I have been loving sharing grocery hauls, book reviews and What’s In My Bag/ What’s on my iPhone videos

Thanks for the comparison. I still rock my Canon mk2. It is great but going to the newer cams with 4k, there is still no ideal perfect camera, but tend to agree at this moment in time the zv1 takes the slight edge. How have you got on with battery life on the zv1?

The camera I have now is the Canon Rebel Eos t6i and it's so big and bulky.. takes up a little space. But I use it for both filming and photography.. For photography, I highly suggest you check out the new Sony ZV1-e10 APSC camera. It has a more advanced sensor than my a6500 and I built a whole photography business with that camera!

Thank you for this honest comparison. I'm planning to upgrade to one of those two cameras for my growing channel. You are the only one who made it clear that the auto focus on the Sony is much better. that's so important. I'm using an older Sony DSLR right now and it's frustrating in the same way you describe. But now I know that Sony has done their homework and I can buy the ZV1, which is actually a bit cheaper right now.

that's what makes me hesitate... I really love the g7x but this auto focus sucks a lot...

I disagree, the canons colors are far more washed out and the autofocus does not pick up as good as the sony.

I also recently bought a Canon G7X Mark III. I thought the video was unclear, but when I set it to VideoBlog mode, I was able to get clear images!

The canon has a firmware update on their website ti fix the autofocus issue.

Canon did an update online for the G7x iii when I bought mine in September 2021 which fixed the problem
