The changes to the spine shots are simple if you want to get full quick kill on the elk is to go for a heart and single lung because it has the same expansion as the 30 30 and when flinter was trying to get full quick kill on the moose he went for the same shot and besides it’s simlar to the 270 ammo but I’m not sure if this works on the new scoring system so correct me if I’m wrong
i am not a beginner anymore, but it's still fun to watch these beginner videos :D and these are sooo much better than the series before, i love the improvement
I downloaded this after seeing a couple youtubers played it and it was on gamepass so i thought why not, after 2 plays playing it i was rather frustrated as i had only gotten around 10-15 kills over those couple days and played it for a decent amount of time each time anyway i thought stuff it ill watch a tips video and yours were the first to come up so i clicked on em and im SO happy i did over the others i seen even with more veiws but after watching a couple videos from you watching you how you play it really helped i ended up racking like 20ish more or less kills on the third day of play so for that i subbed and will definitely watch more of your videos!! Thankyou for the vids man so much help for new people to the game and dont know much about hunting
I really appreciate you making an updated series. I'm still pretty new but have been grinding my way up with the 243, just got the 270, and it's been hard to get quick deaths and therefore I've spent lots of time crashing around in brush looking for a dead moose where I could have been shooting. I'm getting better. Just jumping to the 270 has made a difference. I've spent enough time in to start looking at DLC, and you anticipated me and made recommendations here - thanks!
level fifty player w/10 diamonds but these tutorials are still always full of good shoosting tips for all of us, and i'll be damned if i ever miss out on flinter content
I used the drilling from the get go. I shoot everything with it. Birdshot for birds/rabbits, slugs as backup for the rifle barrel or two shots at the ready for a big deer herd
I started a new game on PS4. To those who don't know it already you just have to switch to another user and you can start a new save without deleting your old and you'll still have all your DLC's. :)
One thing I'd like to be explained is the distances at which animals spot you when you're in different stances. I'm pretty sure you've already explained this in an earlier video but can't remember which one.
I do. and I can't really remember how to start with the .270 for free? I never got it for free. But who cares know really when I bought it all and closing in on half a million in game cash.
@@nor7onnex208 I think the free .270 was a community thing, at some point we had to get 100,000 harvests as a community or something and that unlocked the .270 Stradivarius... but why we get it for free I have no idea xD
Hey flinter, I am a console player at level 45, and when the TRUpatch came out, the changes to zeroing confused me a little. I think not only would explaining the new zeroing help beginners, but also the players that have a little time in the game and haven’t adapted to the new changes. Keep up the good work!!!
Pr0 Mitch i don’t think so, for some reason when I equip the perk and activate it, it doesn’t let me change it between 75, 150 and 300 like before, it doesn’t show what distance I am shooting at. It may be a bug with my game though
I needed this video so bad that I completely didn't even see that very first deer standing right in front of me at the very beginning. I started on my own thinking " oh I got this shit". I managed to kill a fleeing rabbit with the shotgun during the beginning tutorial. I then spent literally 4 hours tracking animals only being able to scare them off or hit a bunch but either not killing them or not being able to find them.
Since it is a beginner series you might also want to touch on the DLC maps. If you are only going to buy 1 of them which one should you buy both at beginning and mid/end game. If you buy 1 right off the bat when you get the game which would be the best and why. Kind of like why you should buy weapon pack 2, some maps are just better than others.
Ahh, good point. I'll probably mainly give the advice to try them out in multiplayer first, as you don't need the own the dlc to do that, but could definitely make a recommendation
Do videos on need zones and all the things, missions and general game play. Watching Run and gun gets boring after awhile but Love watching your vids bud! Keep it up.
Im a lvl 13 and was tryna hit those spine shots from your prev videos only to find out the patches have completly changed the game lol Hopfully this series helps me lvl up way faster lol. I still need to understand how animal behavior work and tracking lol
I would really like if you could do shot accuracy before and after zeroing perk. Someone on Reddit said it's bugged cause before you unlock the perk, it does not matter the distance you shoot at but after people unlock it, the game adjusts the aim to distance.
is this different on pc than on ps4? I do not get the red when I shoot any animal, it will just show blood spots, and I have left about 3-4 animals shot and no clue where they went, also I have watched several of your videos, and as you just did on here 4 animals instantly, how the hell do you always see so many? I can play for 2 hours and only see 4 total
Thank you so much! I was having a hard time with the game because they dont really explain what youre supposed to do for new players, so i was basically just spending hours walking around yrying to track animals id shot with that shitty first rifle you get cuz it barely does any damage at all and i started getting a little frustrated.
The only animal I have seen let me get within 100 yards, without moving was the tutorial deer. Nothing since has stuck around if I budge. Deer are seeing me, and running away, at 600 yards. HAHAHAHA
Explain everything! I must know.. Also I think animals with Very Low bleed rates do have a chance to stop bleeding because there’s been a few times they just stop leaving blood trails and never die. It’s annoying as hell when it happens.
Flinter, you are pretty much the last the hunter youtuber, I remember when pratze, Ronmctube, BillyTheCrayon, Hoocairs, and JoshDshot were popular on covering the whole aspect of classic maybe you should try to reach out to these guys and se if you can get them back into the game.
Thanks, but I'm just not finding any animals!!! I'm surprised at all these videos for beginners where I can see them shooting several animals just like that. I sometimes see some in the distance and they just run away straight away. And I haven't seen any deer, apart from the first one that I shot during the very first session. I have a few kills but mostly, I can walk around the reserves for hours without seeing one single animal. It's so frustrating!! :( (PS. No, I'm not driving around with the ATV, I know it scares animals. I've even tried to move around crouched, but no luck. Plus it's so slow I die of boredom that way!!)
Is the directional audio a bit wonky in this game or is there even directional audio? Im playing on xbox and my first time out I stalked up Close on three animals 3 diffrent times in the brush, a bear a doe and a coyote but every time i get that close i can't tell wich way the sound is coming from and cant get a shot cuz they see me spinning like a top in the tall grass trying to figure out if its behind or in front of me.
mostly relevant. a lot has changed, and I will make an updated guide fairly soon, the biggest change really is that there is no more "quick kill" but there are harvest checks. the most important one is the "vital check" you still need a vital hit, but it doesnt matter how long it takes them to die. The others are "trophy organs" which basically means not to shoot the animals in the head. The idea there is you'd ruin the skull and therefore the antlers or whatever the animal is scored by. "Less than 2 shots" - self explanatory. and proper ammo - your ammo class is listed in your inventory on the ammo itself, and the animal classes are listed in the codex, as well as when you spot them or pick up their tracks
@@Flintergaming ah that all makes sense, thanks so much for replying, I'll see if I can get this poxy starter rifle to pierce some skin all I managed to kill so far is a springbok but it was gold at least. Keep up the good work and thank you for replying, look forward to more guides!
Just starting out and have a newbie question. I see how the animals glow through the scopes and binoculars, I can't seem to do this. Is this something you buy or a perk? Thanks for the great video! New sub alert!
The .270 Stradivarius is in your inventory from the beginning, because it has been a community gift in 2017, I think. Everybody who has participated in this event got it on PC. With a brand new account it shouldn't be there. :) Cheers!
Ok... first thing.... The bar for how much noise your making, What does each little bar mean (white or red). How far can they hear you? And is each animal able to hear at different ranges. Like for instance, while running most of the time I can’t get within 200 meters of bison with out spooking the whole heard or blue wildebeest that spook almost instantly from the slightest noise 300 meters or more away? Yet I can run up to within about 160 or so on whitetail.
There are definitely some species that seem to spook a bit further than others, but for the most part it's about 150m. That's with good wind, and both levels of the soft feet skill though
For some reason the 45-70 is a weapon class 2 but only the soft points give you full integrity on white tail (not sure about black tail) but not the hollow points lol
In my opinion the bows are good to buy as they are silent and with 600 grain arrows can kill buffalo and moose. The 16x scope is nice to have but its not a must have it just makes shots at over 150 meters easier. However if you have the 16x scope its easier to use iron sights at under 75 meters. You can quicly remove or equip the scope by pressing middle mouse button on PC.
can you explain your love of the mosin? the ammo available in game has the same range, expansion, penetration and weapon class as the free ammo for the 243, and the stats on the gun have it as less accurate and heavier recoil than the 243, i want to love the gun in game, as it is one of my favorite guns IRL, and i own several of them, but the game seems to have sandbagged the gun. i dont own and have never fired a 243, but i do know that a 7.62x54 had just a little more pop than a 308
I have noticed that Flinter doesn't reply to comments - but does anyone else know why he has the third (FAR RIGHT) icon showing in the bottom right hud, if he is beginning from the start again --- as I am Level 50 now, yet still don't have that showing (was assuming it is a skill/perk unlock that I haven't got yet?)
First: he is very active on the discord and answers many questions in streams! Try them! Also he can't read all the comments. ;) What icon do you mean exactly?
Thanks theboss1904 - and by the way, him not answering comments, wasn't meant in any way as an insult, but just the observation. But I am referring to that ARROW that seems to show the 3 distances once you unlock it. I'm confused that he is starting a fresh game - yet he has that showing, but I don't have it showing next to the weapon/caller etc icon, even after level 50 (though I thought I need to reach it in the skills/perks menu first?)
@@SingleRacerSVR well that is the zeroing perk. If you have unlocked it, you have to manually activate it, of other perks are active. I think he has clicked on it that is why it appears. But there are no numbers, which indicates it's not active.
The mosin has slightly better damage and it has great accuracy compared to the 270. However what really makes the mosin great is that the mosin gives integrity on more animals.
Lol, I didn't start with 3 weapons, only with the .243. They meybe added this in some new patch. Flinter, how do you remove your scope while aiming? and, did they nerf the mosin nagant rifle?
Yeah. Respawns are not really explanatory. EW always keeping there mouth shut. It kinda works like this: you have a basic population. As example: whitetail. 20 pieces. 15 are does. 2 silver buck 2 gold and 1 dia. Each you kill in the class will Respawn somewhere an equally good. Means: shoot a doe a doe respaws. A gold shot will mean a gold to respan. But they exact numbers will change. So you might shoot a high class gold and it might respawn as dia. Bit no one really can confirm this for sure. What I can tell is: change your positions! Go to places you never seen before and the changes of dia might be better.
@@thebass1904 thanks for the tip I appreciate it! And yeah the way you explained the respawns is exactly how I thought it worked as well, but I still think flinter making a full video dedicated to his thoughts on the matter would be very beneficial to this beginner series.

@@Kikizilla101 agreed on that
How do you zoom in?
How do you get dlc packs
How do you start a new game but save the progress on your old one? I have pc btw
You copy and move the level 60 files to your pc homepage, and click new game. It will make new beginner files, while it saves your old files
Sjoracer 29 what folder is that in. Is it under steam in my pc?
I can't find any blacktail deer or whitetail deer
Is there a way to do heard control to get higher levels on all the animals I'm a level 22 and I'm having trouble finding animals over level 5
You’ve probably figured it out by now but animals either go to level 5 or 9. For most deer level 5 is max
Are u gonna start with the beginner series again
