And when the world needed them most, they returned
ABSOLUTELY ....... Thank you so much A B B A!!!!!
I'd have said a year ago when we were all miserable in lockdown would've been better :)
YES 😍
So true
I agree, we need some happiness...
Never, in my entire life I thought I would say "I'm listening to the new Abba song they released TODAY!" I'm so emotional
Same! ❤❤
Me too!!

After all these years, no two voices have ever sounded so good. It’s as if the Universe conspired to bless us with their beautiful voices.
I’m a 60 year old man……crying tears of joy to hear them once again.

Yes, me too.
60 year 'old' man?? We are "best ager"!!!!❤💪🏼Ganz liebe Grüße von einer 60-jährigen jungen Frau!! 👍🏼🙋🏼♀️❤
UPDATE: I’ve been blown away by the response to my post below. Thank you to everyone for their comments and the time taken to describe the new music. Having read the responses it’s really helped me and painted a picture of the new music 😊. The dream would be future Lyric videos with highlighted lyrics that vibrate in time with the music, as well as the written music underneath. Just like that school tv programme Music Time when I was little 😂 Enjoy the music and thank you again ❤️ x
I’m now deaf and can no longer listen to music. It’s been the hardest part of coming to terms with my deafness over the last twenty years. I always comforted myself by saying said at least I’d heard all of ABBAs music. My heart sank when I saw the news yesterday but am so happy for those who can hear it too. This video has helped give a lyrical flavour, thank you. If any ABBA fans out there can describe their new songs in comparison to their previous music I’d appreciate it.
Thank you.
Enjoy the music everyone x
During the verse I'm hearing a lot of 80's synth sounds kind of like "One of Us". But then leading up to the chorus there's a lot of orchestral parts and disco vibe, I especially recognize some piano jingle from Dancing Queen. Their vocals are a bit aged at certain points but holds up really well when sung by both together, instantly recognizable as the Abba sound.
@@raarnt I couldn't have said it any better! That's my thoughts exactly!
@@raarnt thank you so very much for your words , they’ve painted a picture for me 😊
They sound older, so the vocals sounds diffrent but still good. I would say this perticular song is not as good as the old stuff, but still not bad. I enjoyed it. What stood out a bit in this song is a little darker synth bass sound in the background that I liked. Sorry about your ears...its one of my greatest fears to lose my hearing.
Love to you, hopefully you can immerse yourself with the intensity of your many happy ABBA memories from the past and enjoy knowing new generations can share your experiences of discovering ABBA❤️
The greatest comeback ever. No group has ever returned with such outstanding material; and to do that so calmly with the back-catalogue Abba have takes true belief and timeless talent. Yes, thank God, you still have it in you.....thank you for the music, Abba.
I don't think any big group has reunited and released a new album after 40 years either. There's no band like ABBA. Can't wait for the new album
It’s like they never left the studio. Perfection.
Agreed😎👍
i think much of this experience is thanks to Benny, who has worked with live music the whole time (after Chess and those musicals) in his own band (BAO) during the years, so he totally got the music and rythm there.. ;)
Hello! Huge ABBA fan here! I covered this song! It would mean so much if you watch and leave your opinion! ua-cam.com/video/AzcasH0OQ1s/v-deo.html ♡♡♡
What an amazing album!
Agnethas voice is still amazing
This is probably best comeback ever, sensible, and fully continuing on where the group left it. Timing and involving technology...super smart. Reminder that art, skill and quality is timeless. Love it.
Spot on review!
Nailed it!
Just listened to a Swedish music critic commenting on the live press event from Sep 2nd. She has a hard time now, struggling with her ego. She said: It's the fan's job to love this, and mine not to. Poor soul!
@@paullehmor982 There is your problem for the start; Like the Beatles, Abba had to produce something impossible to be appreciated by all the critics - it was, and is, forever impossible to do anything musically for such an iconic band that will be seen as ABBA best post 1983. Nostalgia is too great!
Well said !
ABBA IS BACK!!!!! No one compares to the harmonies of Agnetha and Frida. PERFECTION!
Amen!
Ikr and after 40 years they didn't even lose their touch! Stunning!🤩
They'll never be surpassed.
Hello! Huge ABBA fan here! I covered this song! It would mean so much if you watch and leave your opinion! ua-cam.com/video/AzcasH0OQ1s/v-deo.html ♡♡♡
Definitly YESSS 😉
It's like going back 40 years, it's like being a teenager again......those magical days of the mid-late 70s when ABBA's music was everywhere you went. Voyage was just an amazing experience, truly. I knew it might be emotional, well it sure was!!
I love how they didn't change the formula when creating new songs much if at all, they know exactly what makes a song...an Abba song.
It has their original soul and feel and that's why it's loved so much.
Точно, душа присутствует!

I think that, after these 39 years, Benny, Björn, Agnetha and Frida have finally understood that they are an immense part of the history of music. I want to believe that, by accepting that responsibility and acting with their well known humility, they know deep down that they owe humanity one more gift. It is not a matter of money. I'm 56. Since 1974 I have experienced the release of all their singles and albums with great excitement, and I could never imagine ABBA releasing another after 'The Visitors', which marked the end of an era. Having listened to two new songs, it wouldn't be fair to have an opinion of the new album, though it already sounds wonderful. It may not be an ABBA reunion the way people wish, but the only idea of enjoying a new album is a blessing. I don't think there is a single week in my life that I have not listened to their music, which has proven to be timeless and beyond all trends. Thanks once again for the music, ABBA!
Beautifully, passionately expressed!
Get this comment to the top ya’ll my guy over here wrote it down for all of us. Perfectly worded!

@@SiSlimbo Thanks. I struggle writing in English as it's not my native language.

I remember when i was a kid, my parents listen ABBA music.I was 8 year old.It was 50 years ago.I still love ABBA...
I played this to my Mum 2 years ago as she lay in hospital. Life long fan as I am. My aim was to bring a little joy into her Covid restricted stay.
The first part of the song made her cry.
The lyrics more poignant than either of us realised. Several weeks later she passed but l'm so glad I got to share this moment with her. We held one another and I won't ever forget that moment. Melancholic but joyous ABBA. Lyrically nothing comes close.
Still brings tears to my eyes. ABBA
Voyage on Saturday with my Dad and niece. Wish she was there to share the moment
This for me is Abba at their finest. 50 years on. Incredible they can still put out an instant classic. For you Mum 🪽😘
Enjoy the gig and let us know how did you feel about it.
Your mum will be with you at this spectacular show....
Прими соболезнования.
I'm glad that she was still there to share this very special moment with you
Wow, it's like we have a very similar story. My grandma unfortunately was diagnosed with cancer.
Unfortunately i can't really listen to this song without sheding some tears
The way "I Still Have Faith In You" is a song about their personal journey to deciding to reunite as a group and "Don't Shut Me Down" is a message to the audience to have an open mind and remember that they're not the same people they were 40 years ago... this is a BRILLIANT comeback. It's emotional and fun and says loudly *yeah we've still got it*. I'm so excited to hear more of what they have in store
I hope my comment doesn't offend anyone but. When I listened to the song it seems to me long gaps where words should be I can't give you an example would take too long. That's just my opinion if my comments do offend I will delete it.
@@denplummer7191 Why delete?
You have the right to have your own opinion.
@@ricky3180 yes I have every right to have an opinion but some people take offence at anything thank you for your reply.
@@denplummer7191 I think it is just a byproduct of music writing of their era. Modern music tends to cram a lot of lyrics in 3min. They are from a time when the instrumental is doing most of the work and songs reach 4-5min.
@@ricky3180 It's a weak song from old people for old people.
My mum turned 70 this year and I remember myself in the early 80s as a small kid, almost every day she was dancing and singing to ABBAs songs. I presented this song to her today. She started to cry, took my 3 year old son and danced with him to this… and all of a sudden it was 1982 again. Thanks for everything, mum.
That's so beautiful, good for you
Geez a lot of these comments are so beautiful yours as well. Such nostalgia🥺🥰. So much love!
Your comment made me cry. We all need this right now.
You HAVE to dance to ABBA songs - there is no other way.
Now I have tears of joy in my eyes.
THANKS FOR THAT!
My word.... I must have already commented on this.....how can you come back after nearly 40 years with such a glorious song? There are no words to express my awe or gratitiude......thank you Abba!
Only ABBA is in state to do that.
when i first heard the new songs i was like how can they make them on that level i was amazed
Pure genius. God bless them 😊
I'm sitting in front of my computer crying, I never thought that this day would come. ABBA's music has been a part of my life since 1976. I still remember sitting in the rain watching them live in Sydney in 1977 - I even got half a day off school so I could get there on time. Their music has always been with me. Songs like slipping through my fingers when my kids (and now grandkids) started school, Dancing queen that my mother played for me every time she saw me dance (and she wanted it played at her funeral), Agnetha's "I stand alone" when my marriage broke down .... so much love for them. And so today, I proudly sit here and cry as an ABBA fan to hear this amazing new music. I cannot wait for the rest of the album
ABBA was such a sensation; that tour was huge.. February 1977, nearly 45 years ago.
Album preordered, concert tickets to be ordered at the weekend. I last saw them in Paignton, Devon in 1975 recording Seaside Special. They’re BACK
❤️
Totally with you!!!
They mean so much.
bruh why is your profile picture borderline hentai kinda weird
Literally crying like a baby here. What an incredible song from an incredible band. Welcome back Abba! The world greets you with open arms!
Thats beautiful .
I cried, too. 😢
I only heard this song for the first time at Abba Voyage concert and it really hit a inner part of me and I just kept crying. I don't know what it is about this song but it really moves me. My only criticism is that I wish it was longer. I want to thank Abba for 40 years of incredible awesome music. Your songs are timeless and will live on forever. X
Happened to me too!
I think it's because, like I Still Have Faith In You, this song was recorded around the time of planning of the Voyage concert, so this is literally an expression of how the members feel about the whole ordeal, but in musical form. Thus, it just hits too close to home, almost like this is the one real moment in the concert and this is actually ABBA in front of us (and strangely, it looked the most real out of all the songs for me).
And the fact that Agnetha, arguably the face of ABBA, did her monologue (which was the last one out of the four) before this song was pretty special too.
Warning... middle aged man crying here at the sheer joy of ABBA giving us yet another brilliant song. They sound as good as ever.
And me mate
So sweet.... 🥰😍😋
One of my former students, around 45 now and a very successful high school teacher with 2 daughters, has a dad who bullies him because he likes Abba, I shared that clip with him! I saw it too
Same here mate , same here - Just gave it a test drive on my new NAD C399 driving Klipsch RP8000F speakers - blooody hellfire
Joy is the word. Their sound is timeless, and I'm young again 😢
How many artists can say they took a 40 year break and come back and the world is talking about it? Damn. Go ABBA!
I think they got so worried about tarnishing their legacy then realised that what’s important is they are creating and enjoying what they do.
Legends for their success and return 🤩
Yessssss!!!!
They were joking that there's an old saying in the music industry that you can't leave more than 40 years between Albums, so they had to make one or else!
All band members have to be alive for a start.
Oh my God, what have you done, Abba? This is not just a new song, this is an attack on my soul. It touches me, makes me cry and laugh at the same time, because you are back. Abba, you are unique, incomparable! "Don't shut me down" is an anthem! The song goes better and better and better every time I hear it ...
Completely agree. I hear something new every time I listen to it. So happy 😊
It's almost as if they narrated their life story through that song.
It made me cry as well!!! It is just wonderful to have them back!!!
I know what you mean. The lyrics and music are so clever x
after 50 years they still got it
The most timeless band
What do I think of beatles
A 58 year old bloke here and these song have brought tears to my eyes. It's like meeting up with a long lost friend and discovering that age has not diminished them but they have flourished. The two songs are wonderful and especially "Don't shut me down". Can't wait to hear the rest of the album, if these tracks are anything to go by there are going to lots of very happy people out there.
❤️❤️❤️ i am such a happy 48 years old little boy right now. It's ABBA magic.
My feelings are exactly the same, tears in my eyes, i listened Abba very much as a younger, now 55 year old man,
The same happened to happen to me.
I am a 46 year old man, frowning like all Russians 😁, and I have exactly the same feelings from this song as you do. It’s like I’m back in my childhood, where my parents are young, I’m 5 years old and I’m dancing to Abba’s record. I'm crying
And here's a bloke who's just turned 60 last week. And yes, I could not have said it better than Mark Lewis. Goose bumps, tears, remembering Agnetha shaking my hand after a concert at the tender age of 12. Didn't want to wash it for weeks ❤️❤️❤️! So great to have them back and so great they evolved and dare to do something new yet still being ABBA. ❤️❤️❤️
How does this band maintain such a distinctive.....them-ness? This song is so ABBA and already timeless it's like they float above time and space and are just....them. just ABBA.
No need for me to write a new comment. This captures my sentiments succinctly
Great songwriters/singers do not need to change their style in order to be good and stay trendy. That's what apparently every musician has forgotten nowadays.
Yep. The song may only be a few days old, but to me it’s as timeless as Waterloo.
Yep, it's like they never went away :'-)
@Dmitry Pepper Like who?
Im glad to hear Agnetha sing again!😊👍
Björn o Benny visste när de startade ABBA och sen när de valde ut de bästa efter det till Chess och till Kristina från Duvemåla....hyfsat god kännedom må jag säga!
I can't stop crying. What a gift the return of Abba is.

Wonderful!!
How is the world a mess??? We are all just part of nature, and nature has never been just daffodils and butterflies.
I'm literally crying. They've created a song which sounds exactly as if someone has taken it out of 80s! It's amazing, they still have that sparkle!
Crying here too. For days now.
Goose bumps...
70’s
It would have been more amazing if they had updated their sound a bit instead of imitating a 1980 record. They used to update their sound often in their career. Why not now? I find it difficult to understand why they wanted such a dated sound. I am not a Madonna fan, but she at least updates her sound often rather than just being an 80s nostalgia singer.

Me too. So awesome to have the magnificent ABBA back with so much joy for us. Making us so happy.
I totally agree.. tears are in my eyes
Have you noticed this song has just two choruses? Two choruses in almost 4 minutes. That's it. ABBA's proving that you don't need to pound a musical motif 55 times per minute to make a song catchy and downright EPIC. 40 years after their prime, ABBA is still taking us to school.
ABBA are legends. I'm a metal head and I'm excited to hear the album. ABBA are some of my earliest memories. Just hearing them again is magic. And Thier songs are always well thought out. Little touches here and there.
@@Gavin-Leo--uk amazing! :)
And, the 2nd chorus is one tone higher, so the 2nd verse!
Dancing Queen - one of the most popular songs of all time - has 1 1/2 verses.
EPIC FAIL u mean they didn’t make it. I’m fan from yrs ago but this song and the other are poorly written songs they sound exactly the same yes and that’s good maybe the next songs released will be better than these two offerings 🇨🇦👏🏻
This song should be added to ABBA gold.

I keep crying but with joy, but it is something that happens to everyone, it is a year of many losses, and it is this moment when they resurface with their music that seems to heal the soul. They made it ...
I've missed that sound, that blend of voices, those heart breaking strings, the absolute melancholy of those lyrics. It's like a part 2 to "One Of Us" but also a look into the 21st century ABBAtars and what looks to be an amazing concert. Can this really be happening? After so much time, and so much cultural filler, have real songs returned?

I know how you feel. My dad played ABBA’s vinyl records on his vinyl record player/stereo system. It was their music that got me out of bed as a young kid. My father passed away 15 years ago and he influenced my taste in music.

Tears of joy. These are not just songs. They are the rebirth of hopefulness, the immersion into a past thought long lost, and for the younger generations, the inclusion into an experience shared only virtually. Nostalgia, hope, but for once not in vain. Time regained.
I think these songs should be put straight on More Gold. As great as anything they have done.

The real ABBA sound!!! As if not a bit of time has passed. It sounds 100% exactly like it used to be, absolutely ABBA!!!
Hey. How do you like this version? ua-cam.com/video/SA2KJzc5s2Q/v-deo.html
What ABBA did was to show absolute respect and loyalty toward their fans: Offering new songs that sounded fresh and yet, they retained their vintage trademarks. We are grateful that ABBA didn't try to measure up to younger acts, but just being themselves offering what they do best.
Yes! I love them!
This. If my all time favourite band did a comeback in 10 or 20 years, knowing that they're not as iconic as ABBA, I dream that they would come back with something to please their fans and give them the sound that made them unique. ABBA has done that. I'm not a super fan, but my first thought when I heard the new songs was that they could have been included in any of their albums of the 70s. That takes a lot of love for their music/sound, for their fans, and a whole lot of talent.

This song really sounds like a hit parade of all the ingredients of their pop songs from 1972-1982; a continuation of where they paused and 39 years later un-paused and fast-forwarded to 2021… So; yeah - I still have faith in you! Thank you for the music!
Thank God it does!
@@cosmicdrifter287 yeah I was panicking about that
True
@@68CITYCAT Well i kinda understand but Bjorn and Benny are smarter than that.
@@cosmicdrifter287 I know .. I should have had more ‘faith’
Now THIS IS MY FAV SONG FOREVER 🎵 😍 😩 🙌 ❤️ 😭 🎵 😍 😩 🙌 ❤️
It's more than genius !!!
and when the world needed them most... they returned. ABBAtar, the last Album
So many musicians in their 70’s make weak parodies of their earlier hits. This is almost unique. A mature sound, a gift for melody, intelligent and mature lyrics, it’s a blueprint for how musicians in their twilight years can still create relevant music.
Completely agree, most mesmerizing 👍😘
Björn and Benny are geniuses!
Their musicals are fantastic as well and I love Benny's band BAO (Benny Andersson Orchestra)!
Like who for example?
🦋 The Who Toyah & Morrissey are to name a few all still making great music till this day 🎸
@@krasteff 👍🕊
Can't believe that those are the voices of two ladies in their seventies; they sound just as good as they did 40+ years ago! And the song is lovely; was worried that their new songs wouldn't live up to the brilliant music they produced in the past but those worries were unfounded. REALLY happy they are having this reunion; I feel like I'm a teenager all over again!
The arrangements are great and the girls' voices are so unique - second to none.
I don't think you're being objective. These new songs are not a patch on their earlier classics and rather pathetic.
@@parisjackson9310 Really? I think this song gets better towards the middle section when it really picks up. I feel the other track drags on for a little too long however it's still enjoyable. You just present yourself as a contrarian..
@@parisjackson9310 u must be kidding right?
@@parisjackson9310 Taste, in general, is very subjective, obviously, so that goes without saying! Having said that, a cursory look at the comments on the two songs, it seems that the majority love them.
I wanted to jump up and down with glee when I first heard it. Agnetha still rocks at 70. I sent song to my family after I heard it. I'm still blown away. Thank you for the gift of Abba.
Holly God...soooo much memories, some make you want to jump in joy and laughter, others make you want to burst in tears, yet the echoes of out laughs live on for eternity.....
What can I say... I moved to Sweden because of ABBA, I lived there for ten years and learned Swedish. I am now a professional translator from Swedish to Spanish, so I owe them not only the happy times I have spent listening to their music, but also ten wonderful years in Sweden and now, back in Spain, my profession.
Such a wonderful present to all your fans!

This whole song sounds so much like ABBA, their uniqueness is just incredible. I'm so happy they're back!
YES. Especially the piano at 2:04. I'm crying. 2:10 reminds me of Lovers Live A Little Longer.
Yeah, it's amazing that ABBA sounds like ABBA. ;)

I’m literally in tears, realising how lucky we all are to have made it through COVID to experience this truly honourable moment. Also, paying my deepest respects to those who didn’t make it and I know would have wanted to.
I thought this tooo.
Ich hab geweint als ich die Lieder gehört habe, so brillant und ich hab im Leben nicht mehr damit gerechnet.
In love and hope, I have learned to cope and, THAT IS WHY I AM HERE NOW.
My mother died 2 years ago and she was such a big Abba fan. She went to her grave with Abba. And I think she would be the happiest person in the world right now! I am the happiest person in the world for her!
Let's all be happy for her!
My mother loved Abba too, I played I have a dream at her funeral and it came true, love you mam and Abba 😘
My mother passed also 2 years ago.
I feel she's happily watching me listening to them.
Your mother would be listening to these new ABBA tracks on Heaven Radio,
She had a great child in you...and great taste in music...love from Ireland 🇮🇪
After half a century the enchantment revives!❤
A great song to start 2024. May this year bring us success and happiness
No offence but I’m 57 and crying. This took me back to a happier and more decent world. Thank you
I am the same, what a void they left when they split up all those years ago, it is like being reunited with old friends. This song is fabulous.
@@dragonfly6908 yea but few people realise they were not popular when they broke up in 82. They were a 70s has been disco band in the eyes of the early 80s youth when ABBA's heyday was a recent memory. They had a resurgence in the 90s and beyond but not the 80s especially in America. Also Agnetha went through a bitter breakup with her band mate so it all makes perfect sense why they did what they did.
@@jonathanclarke281 I think that when ABBA decided to split up it was because it was absolutely the right time for them to do so, i think they were heading for "burn out" and had touring fatigue. One unlikely fan of ABBA is the singer BONO from the group U2, he confessed that he absolutely loves them.
You and many others including me. Marvellous :)
56 and tears of joy rolling down my cheeks.
I'm speechless. They're immortal. And so is their music, here's proof.
ABBA's songwriting genius... This song can be interpreted in a hundred thousand ways.
in what ways do u interpret it
@@kyleday5026 I am not going to list 100,000 ways here, not for free anyway.
@@nirmalsuki can u name a few
@@kyleday5026 It can be around someone trying to rekindle an old relationship. It ca be about Abba making new music after so long and asking fans to give it a try. It can be about the new avatar technology they created for the virtual tour, where they mixed the old and new (old footage and new motion capture combined). It can be about old people in the labor force....
@@kyleday5026 Originally I interpreted it just as them singing about being back after all these years, being the same and yet different - a perfect combination of past and present mingled with decades of experiences.
I’ve recently found that it also can be interpreted as new life arising from old. I recently lost a friend to suicide and while it was devastating, I listen to this and can see that if we serve and find purpose in the loss of a friend, new life can arise.
I can only imagine that thousands of people will interpret it differently based on their personal life experiences reconciling the past and experiences with the current and new. A truly beautiful masterpiece.
I SAW THIS SONG/ TRACK PERFORMED AT THE [ ABBA VOYAGE ] CONCERT , ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER EXCELLENT [ ABBA ] SONGS , YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS AT ALL ,WHAT'S SO EVER ,100% . ROB.

I strongly believe the rainbow-striped bifrost returned the Nordic gods to us. This music makes me so happy. It’s angelic, heavenly, rapturous. It’s a softer ABBA, ripened to perfection with tones and lyrics that offer us hope and healing in these dark times. I am extremely grateful. ❤️❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊😊
Oh wow, beautiful comment! 😍
I agree with each of your words 🥰🌈💖💫
Well said indeed! The ray of light we all needed!
Yes, beside all the other levels the song carries the theme of being reborn or resurrected. Like a hymn. Amazing!

@@chrisspoohbear8903 Oh gosh, i love Norse mythology so much!!! 😍
ABBA made better music than the Beatles!
Shameful that this didn’t garner a Grammy award this year. It’s a glorious song; a message to “keep an open mind; and a master class in the craft of pop music. This is one of ABBA’s greatest songs, yet still no recognition for ABBA from the Grammys.
Tears every time I hear this…even more tears when I realize that I am not alone. Millions of us on this lonely earth, isolated in some way…and then these beautiful, joyful and perfect songs appear. So many of us needed this, and we didn’t realize how much it was needed until it was given to us. Thank you for returning the magic and music…we still believe in you.

One of the best tracks of the last 20 years
Respect 4 ever!!!❤
I am 54. ABBA was the sound of my generation. Well, The Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel were my heroes. So much as my bedroom walls were filled by The Beatles.I even once had a tribute duo called Paul and Simon. But ABBA was the band everybody liked and love to listen to. No discussion. When I pick up the guitar and play in the local pub, The Beatles and S&G are on the top of my setlists. But I also play a song or two by ABBA. People tend to get overwhelmed then. Not because of me, so much to the memories. ABBA was the band to love. How could we not? The best pop band ever. When they quit I was too young to understand/miss what happened., but as the years passed by I missed them. In 2004 I got to witness Simon and Garfunkel (and The Everly Brothers) in Oslo. It meant all the world to me! I never believed I would experience my childhood heroes would be there live. When ABBA released their songs two days ago, I cried and called my old friends. To share memories, to share continuity. I feel so grateful. I really did not expect this. And I am so happy to read their lyrics. They are not pretending to be 40 years younger. "Don't shut me down" is a follow-up of "The winner takes It all". To have the greatest pop-band ever to sing about aging love is a reminder of life itself. I feel happy!
This is so beautifully put. ABBA did come back strong but not hard, the music is mellow, a gentle acknowledgement of the time that passed us by in between. I am 26 years old and by dad 62 and i grew up listening to ABBA on the loop. They were big in my dads youth and he never stopped playing them. From vinyl records to cassettes to CDs to spotify playlists, ABBA were a constant at every new years party. Yesterday when i told him ABBA had new music, he couldn’t believe it before rushing to listen to the sounds of his youth. Somehow it is now nostalgic to both him and me as well. And ABBA didn’t disappoint.
It's as if they never left. Brilliant 👏
@@rw8733 Well.. thet did leave! And that makes their coming back so special. But more important.. their coming back is not overcompensated, but mellow indeed. Acknowledging that 40 years have past but that they still love to make music. You can feel that love for the music and the fans flowing throughout the songs'
It's not ' LOOK AT ME - I'm BACK' (yelling)) but more " We are having fun doing this again and hope you can enjoy it as we did'
@@priyareddy9145 a bit of melancholy like “Slipping Through My Fingers”…same sort of feel but with some uplifting parts which somewhat counteract the feeling…whatever, so good to have them back 👍🏻🇸🇪
Abba, for me personally, were more than pop icons. Like the Beatles, they represented the hopes and dreams of a certain generation. Now, here they are again 40 years later; Benny Andersson, 74, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, 75, Agnetha Fältskog, 71, and Björn Ulvaeus, 76, with a new album and a legion of fans holding their breath in anticipation. What an absolute joy to hear them sing again, but this time with a twist and some rather clever Abbatars.
