There are service providers having several thousand routers in a single IS-IS area. IS-IS traditionally scaled a bit better than OSPF because it was exposed to more abuse, but it shouldn't be hard to push OSPF (should you prefer it) to several hundred devices in a single area.

EIGRP has a faster convergence time than OSPF-meaning it can quickly recalculate routes if a link or router fails-because it uses a Diffusing Update Algorithm (DUAL) to calculate the shortest path to a destination, avoiding network loops.

Yes, both Link State & DV fall under IGP.
There is only one type of EGP (GBPv4) which is based on Path Vector methodology.

OSPF Requires the IP Connectivity between the routers to share the routing information. IS-IS doesn't require IP connectivity between the routers as updates are sent via CLNS instead of IP. 7. OSPF supports NBMA and point to multipoint links.
