Yeah, it's really easy to connect with their stuff on a very deep level. Beautiful music, and so inspiring to play. And yes, my cat is an absolute diva. :)
Thank you! Not too happy with how that synth part came out, it's super tricky on guitar both rhythmically and in terms of tone, but I figured it would be better than playing nothing. :)
I was very happy to find this. VOLA is just awesome, and you played the songs quite nicely. I also found it super nice that you didn't discard the cat parts, it kept things real and relatable for me (having lived with cats for years). Keep up the good work! :)
Very nice ! How do you make the tone at 13:45 ? What is you chain of effect? I have a Helix modeler so I guess I could reproduce pretty much any effect chain. Thanks !
Great playing!!! LOVE Vola. My favorite band. Question...so I have picked out many of Vola songs (especially on Witness), but I'm having a little trouble picking out the fast part on 24 light years. I know most of their songs are played in F# standard (I think Stone Leader is slightly tuned up or down, I can't remember which), but it seems like this one is tuned higher up in the mid to higher strings. Is that accurate, or are they all in F# standard?
Thank you! If I remember correctly, 24 Light Years is originally played with a capo on the second fret, and I had my guitar tuned up two semi-tones with my Whammy (making it G# standard). Might be wrong as it's been quite a long time now!
@@aod_music I probably won't be covering this one! I don't think I'll be posting covers anytime soon anyway, but if I do I'll probably be working on other bands. I did enjoy a few songs in FoaP (Hollow Kid, Bleed Out and Tray mostly) but overall the album didn't grab me as much as Applause of a Distant Crowd, for instance.
@@Niamorg1007 yeah definitely. Applause and Witness are my favorites but for what it is I feel like FOAP is good. It was a grower for me, mainly I feel because I had already heard the singles long before the release date so I didn't get to experience them in the fresh context of the album. Witness is great for being very riffy, but I gotta admit, I was a little disappointed when I found out that part on 24 Light Years was purely synth. Honestly though Asger works his butt off as it is so it's really not that big of a deal. Guess I just would have been impressed to see it in a live video.
Thank you so much, glad you liked it! Tuning is F# standard, except for 24 Light Years which is initially played with a capo on the 2nd fret, but which I played in F standard for the keyboard intro and G# standard for the rest of the song (I used a Digitech Whammy to switch in between tunings).
Pretty awesome job you have done here dude! Can I ask what string gauges are you using? I have 27"-25.5" fan fret with 80-11 but I feel it is kinda too tight
Thank you so much! I used 12-56 strings with an extra 80, and my multiscale is 27.8-25.5. I do like my lower strings very tight for low tunings though. :)
Thank you! The song is played on standard VOLA tuning, which is F# B E A D F# B, but with a capo on the second fret (based on the official tab). I just up-pitched my guitar two semitones for the song, so G# C# F# B E G# C#, except for the fast keyboard bit at the beginning of the song for which I didn't up-pitch and used the VOLA tuning.
Hey dude, I saw your post in the ormsby group and got onto this album, it’s definitely a treat. Sick covers too. Do you know the guitar part for the bridge in napalm? That section sounds so fucking good
Thank you so much! Next three songs are being worked on, including Napalm (it sure is a fun one) . The second part should be out in a dozen of days. :)
@@Niamorg1007 yeah nice, from what I can hear it’s just a bunch of major 7 chords (one of them is deliciously out of key) mixed in with a few djenty low notes. I’d figure it out myself but I’ve got my own practice to be doing so I might just let you do it haha
crazy he can play like this and sing at the same time
Volas music hits deep. Nice to see someone enjoy it so much. Your cat was adorable trying to steal the show. 😹

man that riff in 24 light years. So good!
13:32 to be clear
God bless you. 😊😊

Love seeing you djont so hard!! The end of Head Mounted Sideways
I don't love djent but I sure love VOLA
Ayeeee bruv. Solid!! Such tremendous music.
i almost cried when your cat came in the video during 24 light years
Your playing and tones are spot on
Fucking amazing man, was getting shivers near the end of 24 light years. Kudos to you, I'm sure Vola will see this one..
Thank you so much! 24 Light Years sure is a special one. :) I get goosebumps just playing it sometimes.
Awesome cat video. The guitar playing isn't bad either 😀 . Well played man! Vola is 🔥 and you nailed it!
Well done, bro! Nice to see VOLA getting more love. Hopefully the rest of the album is as good as the first 2 singles.
Thank you so much! I'm sure it is. Can't wait to hear it. :)
Killing it as always!!!

Just great !!! 👍🏼🤟🏼
Sic playing man!!! You really nailed the tone! What tuning were you playing in? :)
Thank you! It's in F# standard, so basically almost an 8 string tuning but without the high E. :)

What tuning btw? 🤘

You are awesome

He's the best :)
This is absolutely sick. Great cover and tones. I can't believe you taught your cat how to play guitar! What did you use for the heavy guitar tones?
Thank you so much! I used an Axe-Fx 2, and more precisely a blend of the FAS Brootalz and 5150 sims. :)

Nice playing man, what is the tuning on the strings? Thanks
Thanks buddy! 8 string tuning adapted to a 7, so F# B E A D F# B !
