Thanks Danny, seems that Adapt 660 definitely has the edge over the older MB 600. Now I will await and hope you do a side-by-side Adapt 660 vs Evolve2 85 (when you receive it)
Hi Danny, Thanks for the fantastic video! I am curious what headset with mic you guys recommend for a home office where two people work together face-to-face (not the ideal office set-up, but there are room limitations to set it up otherwise). The issue is that if we are both in meetings at the same time and the boomless mic headsets often pick-up not only my voice, but the other person in the room. As a result, people often hear the other person's voice as clear as mine. Thanks again for the great info! The EPOS Adapt 660 wins for sure.
Deciding between the adapt 660 and 560. Working from home where ANC is less important. 5-7 hours a day of video meetings so mic performance is important. Ability to connect to two deices (or a long range) so that I can either switch a call to my phone or leave my home office and go to other rooms in the house is helpful. Recommendation between the two of them?

Hi Danny, you seem to be the sharpest person out there regarding the MB660. Have you ever heard of an issue where when the BT is switched on there is a humming or wining sound? I presume it is one of the ANC microphones malfunctioning but could be wrong. Any ideas on a fix for this?
Hi Jamie, appreciate your words however, I have decades long relationships with all the leading business headset manufacturers like EPOS (formerly Sennheiser). I know exactly what you are referring to and this is not isolated to MB660. I have experienced similar with other ANC headphone style headsets. Like you, I chalked it up to a malfunctioning mic/speaker since I typically receive beta or pre-production models. I have submitted your question to one of EPOS engineer contacts. I'll let you know how they respond! Thanks for reaching out.
Hi Jamie! Here is response from my engineer contact at EPOS: Hey Danny, Back when I was part of the consumer team at Sennheiser I have seen this before for that exact reason. Essentially it’s a feedback loop or a malfunction is the DSP of the ANC portion of the headset. Sometimes it will stop if the ANC is turned off on the Adapt/MB 660 models, but if it continues over BT or stops when wired etc, all different tests we can try, then it will tell us for sure. I would recommend though that it gets swapped out if still under warranty.

You are the person with a call quality focus in your testing. Is there any possibility that you could test the EPOS ADAPT 660 and the Bose NC 700 headphone for call quality, please. I am sure you are aware of the Bose NC 700. They are making waves because of their call quality and clarity. The sound quality is good but what we need to know is how the call quality compares to the Sennheiser. It would be great to hear how they sound on calls in a quiet and in a noisy environment. This would really help. Bose have put down a marker for business in the bottomless headphone market and are really trying to back that up. Thanks for all the work you do. @@CallOneInc Hey Danny, Thanks for coming back to me. I get you and understand. I think this area is going to get tasty and more competition is on the way. COVID19 has meant that we have had to spend more time at home and on voice calls where we all used to be in the office. People have had to pick up whatever they had to hand to make their calls. They have found that their consumer Bluetooth headphones have been variously really good and terrible at doing the job. They have then looked at the professional tools available. The wired headsets are good for call centres where people are stationary but will simply not work for home use. I think the companies like Sennheiser (EPOS), Poly (formerly Plantronics) etc were simply not doing enough and making incremental changes. e.g. When do we get a replacement for the Poly Voyager Legend 5200? Where is the replacement and update of the Poly Voyager 8200 - which once led the industry with boomless mics and transparency? Look at the size and clumsiness of the Jabra Elite 85h (not your words but mine), Look at the HUGE Jabra Evolve 2 85 - that would NEVER be acceptable in a world where BEATS has been in charge or where Sony's sleek NC headphones rule the waves currently. The EPOS ADAPT 660 is a great headset, effective and incredibly light and comfortable, but it is still Micro-USB instead of being USB-C. The customer is not going to be willing to accept these compromises indefinitely. Especially when commercial players are making sleek, modern tools which can be used very well in a professional environment. People are already using Apple AirpodsPro for the same purpose ... I cannot count the number of CNN, FOX, NBC and BBC interviews I have seen with people using AirPods as their headset of choice on video calls - no doubt because that is what they have to hand... and it just works. I mention the news outlets because the interviewees know that they will be in front of a global audience and they choose something which presents them well and works excellently. They know they must hear and be heard. They know that the tool they choose MUST work and will affect future interviews if they don't get it right. Notice what they choose. Soon other companies will get in on the action. The customer will soon decide that they should not be made to have 2 different headphone sets for different functions when there are companies out there producing headphones that are great at everything. Samsung is still slow rolling with its incremental upgrading but other players are deciding to drive forward and make big changes to get into more markets. The Bose headphones are going for under $300 in some places and that is retail. That challenges Jabra, EPOS, POLY and the other players. If a company wanted to sell them commercially, they could clean up. The sound quality is well known, the ANC quality is an industry-standard, the battery life leaves some of the established players in the dust and now their call quality is reputed to be all world. This all happened before with iPhone. The corporate phone makers rested on their laurels and then iPhone came in and Apple ate their lunch. Sony's platform-creating and industry-leading walkman were elbowed out of the portable music market in the same way by iTunes and iPhone. Now with Spotify and others - there is no real way back for them on the music side and the hardware boat has sailed. They now seem like now a sloppy also-ran (even though I have, use and love a sony mp3 walkman still today haha). I think the change in the world that companies and individuals have experienced is significant. The companies already in the market need to step up their game because companies who were not seen as competitors simply because the customer didn't compare them - will now come in and challenge for market share. Even Microsoft is getting in on the act with a really good headset in the Surface Headphone - again focusing on the voice quality aspects. The industry should not ignore players like that - look at what they did with Surface. Not just sales but look at the impact on the other PC manufacturers. It changed what customers expect from PC's - there is now no excuse for MAC to be able to produce a laptop thinner and more beautiful than a PC manufacturer. The world has changed. EVERYONE can now have a lovely looking aluminium or magnesium PC. Before surface, PC manufacturers were getting away with murder - delivering very substandard products which we accepted could not be made into anything as beautiful as a Mac. Not so any more. With headsets and voice tools, the challenge of distribution, order fulfilment and of course aftersales service (which is no easy thing to get right but is nonetheless essential) - are still challenges but they CAN be overcome by service companies and resellers (Like CallOne Inc of course!). People and companies like yours do this all the time already. Break-Fix and swap-out can be achieved if the volumes are there. The change in our work practices means that the numbers might be there. I am excited to see what happens. What do you think? Am I just mistaken and don't understand the market or could there be a place there for companies like Bose and resellers (like yourselves) who want to add Bose NC 700 and other previously un included devices into their office voice toolkit? You know this market so much better than me and I think most of us here. Thanks again for what you do and I'm looking forward to your thoughts. (and anybody else's 😊).
@@CallOneInc Thanks for responding mate. I'm looking at the EPOS Adapt 360. I'm really after a do-all headset for PC gaming, bluetooth audio for my iPhone, wireless music listening at home via the PC, and video conferencing for work via my Mac.
